Calories: 8/1: Under 8/2: Under 8/3: Under Fitbit: 8/1: Charging (dead from lack of use) 8/2: fitbit still dead 8/3: 2272 steps (Sunday is slow and I didn’t put on…

Lost sheep report: I cannot believe this! 6 days in a row under goal! Granted, I spent about an hour last night talking myself out of a bowl of ice cream, only to pass through the kitchen and see the empty carton sitting on the counter. It's probably a commentary on the low-fat menu I've been forcing on the other…

Dance, skip, jump, jiggle, wiggle, tap. Develop a few "nervous" habits. Be a kid again and go to the playground (might want to take one with you). Play ball. Find an elementary age kid to take to the park--preferably one that's glued to something electronic--and teach them the fine art of Frisbee tossing, badminton, kite…

August goals: Stay at or under my calorie goal of 1500 every day. Track fitbit miles daily. Calories: 8/1: Under Fitbit: 8/1: Charging (dead from lack of use :ohwell: ) Since I've been such a slacker, and all joints from the knees down are defunct, I can't do anything too challenging yet. Thinking with more weight loss,…

Sheep back. 3 days under goal, though if it weren't for exercise (housework) I would have been over by 59 calories. As good as the 1/2 slice of cheesecake was, I'm not doing that again. I was starving last night and only a couple of servings of Asian slaw kept me from snacking. Robin, I think you're right. I need more…

Happy National Cheesecake Day! Actually, today and tomorrow the Cheesecake Factory is selling slices for half price. The new cheesecake is, tah dah, Lemon Meringue. On that note, I wish to announce: I made it through the birthday celebration at CF and even had a half slice of the lemon meringue, sans whipped crème. My…

Sheep with quick check in-- I did it! 2 days under my goal! Small potatoes, I know, but you can't imagine just how lost I was. Today's challenge is the Cheesecake Factory birthday celebration for a friend. I WILL handle this, (chanting this all a.m.). Thanks for "listening." GW-aka Marsha

Thanks for filling me in on the August challenge. I like it. Think I'll try it, so.... This next month I'll try to stay at or just below my daily goal of 1500 calories 5 days a week and allow myself a 200 calorie leeway on weekends.

Baa-baa: What is the August challenge, please? GW>Marsha

Lost sheep reporting in. Took a deep breath and got on the scale so I could reset my weight and begin again. :embarassed: The truth hurts. Long ago I promised to take a friend to the Cheesecake Factory for her birthday lunch tomorrow (which happens to be on Nat'l Cheesecake Day!). Planning now how to handle this. Order…

I currently have a similar problem. Let me suggest you consult your primary care physician because you are describing some pretty classic symptoms of either acid reflux (GERD) or hiatal hernia. Google this for more info. It has taken me years to recognize the need to eat something was really a response to acid reflux.…

I MISS THE GYM!!! Whine, whine, whine. Was doing so well and then...well, yesterday was National Cheesecake Day. Need I say more. I repent, really I do. After nearly 45 years of cooking, I'm so ready to quit. When I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is wash, chop and cook. If it was just me, I'd grill…

Monday Check-in: Of course, you all haven't heard how the scale has inched up-up-up the last few months, especially after my workouts were on hold for 7 weeks following THE PROCEDURE :embarassed:, but finally I have a little good news. I've lost FIVE lbs. since Friday! Granted it's mostly water weight following my post…

Back again after a month plus of grandkids, travel and work...and wearing a boot up to my knee. Something called acute tibial posterior tendonitis and degenerative joint disease. Bleh! These things are HOT, and not in a sexy way either. This means no lower body workout, I guess. Found a DVD, Zookinesis for Weightloss for…

Tom, thanks for the flags and the message. Yes! Happy Memorial Day! Thank you, DEFENDERS OF LIBERTY, for giving YOUR LIVES for OUR COUNTRY and for US. :flowerforyou: Robin: A belated but HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Happy that tornado didn't blow out your candles, also! Toots: Downloaded both books. Love them! Especially…

Prayers for all in OK. Son's in OK City on business this week but just called to say he was alright but devastation all around him. If it isn't one thing, it's the weather! Toots: Just read excerpts from both books. Loved 'em. Any way can I purchase a paper copy or do I have to buy a Kindle? Stupid Nook! I've always…

Stayed away for awhile--kind of down about food choices and not being able to work out. There really is a connection between my mental health and physical activity, I'm convinced of it. However--happy days may be here again because-- TODAY I WORKED OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE PROCEDURE! AND I LIVED TO TELL YOU ABOUT…

At my age, a 5,000 calorie cheat day would probably kill me, but.... My dream Mother's Day dinner would be: Appetizer: Maryland Crab Cakes (lump crabmeat only--no filler) Monkey bread dripping with garlic butter Salad wedge with a zippy blue cheese and thick bacon crumbles Entree: 8 oz. filet mignon with crab and bernaise…

Thanks for the kind thoughts. I WILL try to be a good patient...even though I'm worrying about losing all the fitness strides I've worked so hard for. I practically fainted when I got on the scale and saw a 10 pound gain since my hospitalization!!!! In panic I fasted for half a day yesterday (only 350 calories and lots of…

In case you missed me  , I'm baaaccckkk! I survived the ablation (obviously), something I've been dreading for several years! Thank you God, and all who encouraged and prayed for me! In many ways it was better and worse than I imagined, but with help from above and my Drs., I will never need to do this again…

Back home from Cancun and a visit with my sister (year 5 with Altzheimer's) and b-i-l. As their time share expires this year, this was my last trip there. Certainly not an exciting week for me, and a bit trying, but I was with my sis, and that's what counts. With the news from the states so grim, we spent a fair amount of…
