  • I do both. I crossfit 5 days per week and run 2-3, but I love running which is why I add it in on top of crossfit. I'm a former marathon runner who after qualifying for Boston needed a new challenge so I started crossfitting. I usually double up at least one day per week so I have one complete rest day each week. That…
  • Just wanted to add that I have a similar story and was a vegetarian for about 3 years before eventually having to add meat back in due to no energy during marathon training and just not getting enough protein. I started super slow just with a little bit of chicken here and there about 2 years ago. I didn't start eating red…

  • +1 for lululemon. Pricey but worth it, I have tights from 4 years ago that still look brand new. I wear their shorts a lot too because they have built in liners so even if I'm doing handstands or squats you still can't see anything. Honestly I don't really notice other people during the WOD mostly because I am in my own…
  • I would say 95% of the time I'm sore after a workout, and like Zilla usually 24-36 hrs after the WOD. If not I usually wonder if I went too light or could've pushed harder. It's not like a crippling pain or anything but more like sitting down is no fun because we did squats yesterday haha. I've been crossfitting for almost…
  • I was thinking the same thing, $200 a month unlimited in Minneapolis which is pretty typical
  • I'm doing a Paleo challenge at my crossfit box, we're starting Monday after the Superbowl. I eat pretty clean now but still eat a few non paleo things like oatmeal and cheese so cutting those things out for for 30 days. When there's prize money involved I feel like I'll have more motivation to stay strict Paleo, feel free…
  • Love- Cindy really any type of amrap or longer chipper workout Filthy 50 Hate- Karen (or anything involving wall balls) Rowing (I'm naturally a pretty good runner so rowing is just a painful experience)
  • In my opinion the worst part of this workout if the fatigue on your grip as the weight if not heavy enough to really get to you where you should fail a rep. Like sasquatch said, what works best for me in these types of workouts is planning my sets ahead of time, I would typically try to do 15,15, 15, 10, 10 ,10 .

  • I crossfit 4 times per week, usually Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat. I tpyically run 2-3 days per week, lift on my own twice a week and then play in a soccer league once a week. I make sure I have at least one full rest day each, sometimes two, so I almost always crossfitting and then running/lifting on the same day.
  • Age: 26 H: 5'7'' CW: 147 Gw: Don't have one, just to fit in my size 4 jeans again (currently in my 6's) and see all 6 abs (not just 2 haha) Eat: 1600-1800 calories a day no matter what exercise I do. I eat mostly Paleo so no dairy or grains. Burn: 200-800 depending on the day. I crossfit 4 x per week, run 2-3 (3-5 miles at…
  • I need to do this again, the numbers all from July, our womens bars are all 33# (15kg) in case your wondering why things don't end in 5's or 0's :) Back Squat- 153 (did back squat doubles at 153 in Sep so I hope this is higher) Press- 83 Deadlift- 203 (also did deadlift doubles at 203 in Sep) Total- 439
  • +1 to circuit training
  • I totally agree that one day it just kind of clicks. For me the big thing was focus on swinging with my chest and not my legs. It helps me to think of pushing your chest as far as you can through your arms on the start of the kip. The second thing for me was knowing when to pull toward the bar. There a point in the swing…
  • Totally agree with your list of pro and cons, I love the paleo way of eating and don't think of it as a diet. I feel a million times better not eating dairy and gluten, and pretty much just focusing on meat and veggies. I’m not perfect and do slip up, but the way I feel afterward reminds how much better I feel without…
  • Weekdays minimum 128 oz, I typically fill my 32 bottle at least 4 times, Weekends usually around 100 oz.
  • I'm 5'7'' and currently weigh 147. I eat 1800-2000 calories a day no matter what exercise I do for the day. The exception is on my long run day where I typically run between 8-12 miles I may eat up to like 2500 cals those days. I loosely follow Paleo so mainly eating lean meats, veggies, and healthy fats and a bit of…
