I don't think I ever want to know what this means. Anyway..... my goal was a half marathon. Did that in March. Goal was to climb Mount Washington. Did that last month. My current goal is full Marathon in October. Then back to body building!!

First: Shaun Cassidy, Andy Gibb, The Bay City Rollers (when I was 12) Last: Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean (last month)

I use Jarrow Unflavored Whey Protein. You can get it regular or organic. The organic is about $10 more for 2 pounds. The best prices I have found for it are at vitacost.com. If you want to be able to use it on the go, get some dextrose, too, really cheap and all natural sweetener, and you can add a scoop to get the carbs…

I think a lot of people like the social aspect and the support they get in the gym. I work at a gym, also. I run outside and I lift in the gym. I also teach classes in the gym. I think some people also like to be motivated by others, be it instructors or peers.
-
I agree with the above. I am down to twice a week now and doing full body on both days, though not heavy with legs. The only reason i am only lifting twice a week is because I am running 4 days a week and I also teach Spin. And.... I know I can't build right now and am just hoping to not lose more than I have to. I'm…

I don't even weight myself that week. Pointless.

Most of what you filter out of the fruits or vegetables is insoluble fiber. Most manufacturers don't include the caloric value of this in the total calories. You will lose some of the actual "meat" of the fruits and veggies but it's not possible to accurately calculate how much with any instrument you would have at home.…

My first boyfriend, who passed away after being in the Beirut bombings, and my husband who passed away 10 years ago. Miss them both every day.

Based on your pics, it looks like you have developed a decent amount of muscle. If you go to or continue cardio based weight training, you will not progress in that area. I think the question here is ultimately, what is your goal with your weight training? I am currently training for a marathon and so running is 99.9% of…
-
I just re-read your post and would add to this that, if running is your primary cardio, and you are looking to build more strength, why use a program at all? Why not just hit the weight room?

I haven't really gone through P90X myself so don't want to comment on it. I will say that I hear great things about it and see some awesome success stories. But, the peeps who have done it can tell you better. As for Body Pump - I did it for a year, 2-3 times a week in addition to other work outs, and had absolutely no…

Naaaaaaah..... hitting on me would have been saying that I should be on television...... no, wait. I'm getting all confused. What approach WOULD constitute hitting on someone? - if I was to be holding my breast when I said that - or maybe yours? Nevermind, could you just stop what you're doing and spot me please?
-
Really? Is this common for guys? I am gonna have an interesting time next trip to the gym! LOL
-
Agreed! And.... to ask a guy for a spot? I would not ask someone to stop their workout to come over and spot me unless i am strong enough to do the same for them. In my mind, it's simply proper gym etiquette. I would love to increase my db bench press but i would need a spotter to do it. So, I moved onto bb bench presses…

And THIS!

YES!!! I was thinking exactly the same, when I read these. And how can you seriously tell a guy you think he is good looking and go so far as to say he would be an actor if in Hollywood and not expect it to be perceived as you hitting on him? As for me..... I am there to work out and so never approach guys or girls. I'll…

I don't go to Starbucks for a healthy drink. I go maybe once a month, if that, and get myself a nice Caramel Macchiatto for a treat!

It depends on what type of yogurt and whether you want it to be dessert-y or meal-like. I sometimes top my sweet potato with it and add some cinnamon and sugar. Here's some combos I use: carob chips and walnuts apples, cinnamon apples, cinnamon, walnuts granola and fresh sliced peaches banana coconut butter or flakes and…

Yeah... I find that 3 miles or under and I don't even need water still, which I hate to carry. The heat is really getting me on my >10 mile runs the most. I feel like I now have permission to walk thanks to you all. LOL This will definitely help. :) Plus, our heat wave just broke and so I get to run in only 80ish tonight.…

Yeah.... the whole food at work thing! Lately, my office has been bringing in pizza for lunch once a week for everyone. I just stay in my office, where I luckily can't smell it, and eat my salad I bring from home. They also had the work picnic/BBQ a week ago and got a sour cream dip so I could have something to eat.…

I read that, too, now that you mention it. I also find that drinking coconut water first helps. Maybe I'll let it slush up a bit.

Thanks! I seriously have felt bad about my easy run pace dropping and thought it was because I haven't been doing any speed training. I also walked during a run for the first time ever last week. I always felt like I was "cheating" if i did. Knowing its ok in the heat makes me feel better and I will be doing a lot more of…

Thanks!

Both work the pecs, tris and delts. I wouldn't replace one with the other. I would switch off between them or do them both if you want to hit those muscles twice. When you do the pushups, really focus on your form. (Of course you should do this with every exercise) But, with the pushup, make sure your back is completely…

Been there - done that - try not to do it anymore.
