Why not do reverse pyramid style training heavy load low reps to start, then lower load raise your reps so you can benefit working your strenght and endurance muscles.

Symptoms of overtraining are lack of motivation,tiredness,insomnia,easier to get sick and generally feelin like crap after big workout.
