Happy day! Congratulations!!

Welcome to MFP, Lezley, and cheers to you for deciding to get healthier! You know it's going to be a process, probably changing what you eat, why and when, but the results will be worth it! Cheers to us all!

Welcome to MFP, Kickin'! I was going to say a lot of the same stuff that mmsilvia said. The suggestion about taking home half (or even 1/3 of the meal to eat the next day), can work really well! Of course, it depends on what you're eating. I wouldn't divide a corned beef sandwich in half. But, if it was say, a big…

There are some strange folk out there, huh? Although, I am one of 'those' people who will just eat peanut butter off the spoon...at least I don't still mix it with jam and eat it right out of the bowl. :embarassed:

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. Thank you and welcome to you, too!

Great job on this NSV, and thanks for posting! You've been here long enough to know that the support and encouragement you will get from other members is incredible! (I've been here less than a week, and I can already see how much other members care!!) Just stick to doin' the good work, and stay committed, and you'll get…

Personally, I thank you for sharing! It always helps me to hear someone else having success at this 'weight loss thing'! We have to acknowledge and appreciate the 'little' victories, because the big ones take so much longer to see! Enjoy it, and use it to keep yourself motivated to get to the next goal! Good work!!

Amen, Tech! For a few years, I would give up Chocolate (later, all sweets) for the 40 days leading up to Easter. I wasn't doing it to respect my Roman Catholic upbringing; it was to kind of make it easier for myself to 'make the sacrifice'. (Not starting a religious/spiritual chat; just saying.) Anyway, I did fine for…

Oooo! I'll be trying this one! And, I'll trade you recipes. I broke a Kellogg's Bran Bar in 1/2 and put it in a snack size bag, spooned some yogurt on top of it (not too much, since the bar is pretty narrow), and put the other 1/2 on top. Stick it in the freezer for a couple of hours and, voila!, a healthier ice cream bar!…

Congratulations on your great success! Thank you for sending the motivation from where I am going to be (I don't know when!) to where I am right now. You look amazing!

Chicken is great on the Foreman! And, it's pretty quick, too. Before I got married, I would grill a pack of boneless, skinless chicken breasts, then have lunches all week.

I don't know if this will help, but I like to make"super" salads: baby spinach leaveswhatever veggies are on hand, plus a red delicious apple, tuna, salmon or grilled chicken, hard-boiled eggs, dried cranberries (not too much, because of the sugar), sunflower seeds, a bit of cheddar cheese (I know it's higher in fat, but…

Thank you! Now, a silly question: Is my ticker showing?
