  • I'm a cosmetic chemist that works for a hair company. Like others said- nothing can make your hair "grow faster"- it just looks longer (& healthier) if your ends aren't splitting. Mane & tail has "hydrolyzed collagen" which is essentially proteins chopped up. They can fill in the holes caused by hair damage, which will…
  • You are adorable! Congrats!!!
  • You can sit around waiting for someone to make you happy, or you can go out and do the things that will make you happy. Very wise woman. :)
  • Half a head of iceberg lettuce has significantly more alpha-carotene, an antioxidant, than either romaine lettuce or spinach- it's NOT a wasted vegetable. Personally- I hate the stuff, but it's not nutritionally bankrupt.
  • I'm 5'11", currently bouncing between 170-175, wearing a size 10 (US). My profile pic shows that this is a great weight for me! I think I look pretty damn good.
  • We spent 6 months looking at houses for HIM, when we found a house that I fell in love with. He ended up buying it. The day that he closed on the house- we were on the phone. Him: "So- when are you going to move in?" Me: "When you marry me." Him: "So- when are we getting married?" Me: "I don't know- but I'm thinking the…
  • nice family moment. we all need more of those :)
  • Thank ya'll for sharing!!!
  • ^^haha- I totally do this, too!^^ As for me- I love my eyes. I'm obsessed with the color green, which is the color of my eyes. Also- I love my laugh. It's really loud and distinctive. Although no one has ever told me I had a nice laugh, many people have come to see what I'm up to, because they heard me laughing... so it…

  • Hello!
  • From January to August 2012, I lost 35 pounds... then I quit smoking in September to find a new job. Haven't lost a pound since I quit.
  • I started weight training in September, and saw my weight go up... sort of fell off the 3x/week strength training around Christmas, and have only been going 1x/week. Regardless- I have not lost any weight in 4 months... the beginning of this week, I upped my cals to see if that helps. Try it out for several weeks- like you…
  • There are groups: Totally Tall Women of MFP and Tall Women. check 'em out. I'm 5'11- started out at 220, joined MFP around 215, and am now hovering at 170. Ideally I would love to lose another 10 pounds, but have been plateaued around 170 for four months. I'm pretty content where I am now, though. @beautmel - I started…
  • seems to me that watching my weight go up 20-30 pounds in just a few weeks... even though I knew the cause of it- would be very hard on me, mentally. Personally- I don't think I would weigh in. Watch your clothes and how they fit. Most likely, they're going to get pretty tight for a small stint. When they start fitting…
  • when in doubt, go with the lower. :( I rarely use MFP estimates, anymore... solely going with HRM. Once you input the cals burned in MFP enough times, the website starts to give you a comparable calorie estimate to the HRMs when you change your minutes under "frequently used" exercises.
  • I normally squat with the rack at my gym, but one day I used a smith machine because the racks were all occupied. Definitely noticed how different my form was and how much the Smith machine "assisted" my balance. It was very easy to distinguish that using the free weights in the squat rack works more musles and forces the…
  • SOOO true! Lived in Texas my first 25 years, moved to Ohio... I'm ok with the seasons, except Winter :( prefer my almost summer, summer, late summer, and Christmas
  • This is fantastic! So glad we're friends!!! I'm ready to go balls to the wall this year :)
  • duh nu duuuuuuh... duh nu duuuuuuh (That's the Rocky theme song in letters) Way to finally come around SouthCarolinaGuy!
  • You didn't mention if this hotel is in a city, in the country, the woods... Is it in your same city or somewhere new? Go explore wherever you are. Walk around and notice the surroundings. Make mini-challenges for yourself: lunge up and down the hallway to your hotel room. Do x# squats before you sit (or jump into) bed. Do…
  • I love the idea of this one! This really speaks to me, because I remember how it felt to be so sure of myself. What a great way to try to recapture that feeling.
  • I asked trainer last night about the weight of the bar for the Smith machine- and he said that it is negligible, because it is practically hydraulic. Last night- I saw a girl do some amazing deadlifts: 200#. She inspired me to feel like a badass and I started out with what I ended with last time. Not good for me... I need…

  • Your losses are so impressive for three weeks!!! Congrats!
  • I draw a smiley face and highlight it on my calender, everyday that I work out. Maybe I'll switch to stars... :)
  • I agree with MyOwnSunshine. At my gym, you never necessarily know what equipment you might find in the weight room. Most likely- if you want to take the dumbells to where the stability ball or steps are, no one is going to yell at you... or probably say anything. Just make sure you return the weights to their rightful…
  • This week- I did squats on the Smith machine- with the same trainer I wrote about last time. Using free weights- we had 50# of weights on the 45# bar (95# total). On the Smith Machine- we added 90# of weights to the bar. I don't know what that means, as to the weight of the bar- but I was able to handle it. BUT it…

  • Never have I seen myself the way I "actually" look. When I was a higher weight- I was always shocked at how fat I looked in pictures. Never noticed in the mirror all the fat on me! Now- I see pictures of myself and am surprised at how thin I look. When I look in the mirror, now- I see all the fat I still want to take…
