I don't do the gym thing anymore. But when I did, I started out by asking the staff for assistance, then I hired a personal trainer for a while, finally I would just ask other customers -- but by then they'd seen me around and I didn't feel like I was being intrusive. Ask the staff - that's what they are there for, there…

I agree with you!

I sometimes, but not so often eat breakfasty things for dinner and dinnery things for breakfast. I'll eat bacon at any meal. Protein of any source, veggies and a little fruit once or twice a day -- mix it up, have fun with it! Good luck - You can do this!

I ageee. It is hard as an emotional eater and NOLAchick's advice is awesome! I'm putting that into practice today.

Sometimes I've had nausea if I so a lot of bending over and/or lying flat sorts of things -- crunches are especially bad. I found out that it is not uncommon with GERD and esophageal erosion, both of which I've had. I can do almost everything upright or on an up incline.

If it's really been since June, you should delay no longer. It could be so much more than just weight; if that is the case then delay will just make it worse. Do the smart thing, see the doc.

What she said. If he is depressed, he needs to take responsbility; you've tried to help, you can't do more. Don't do this to yourself and don't allow him to do it to you. You are worth way more than this.

Mrs. Dash makes a salt free seasoning that is very close to original Lawery's. I agree that either raising the chicken (to thereby save the broth) or taking the fat off before cooking will make a huge difference.

If it is something that needs heating, I put it in a glass pyrex container that has a plastic lid, or if it's soup or broth, I take it in 1 cup canning jars or Gladware and transfer it to a big microwavable mug before heating. I put cold meats, veggies and fruit in sandwich baggies. I put all these items in an insulated…

I've just recently started making my own. Did it in the oven first, now I have a dehydrator. This way I have jerky the way I like it -- very little salt and no strong flavors. I eat it nearly every day now.

Well Done to both of you! Excellent!

Thanks everyone, this is helpful! I have already increased the protein and fat, but I'll try additional fat when I feel that way.

I've had terrific success with them in the past. She has dozens of DVDs/tapes from which to choose 1-mi, 15 minutes to 5-mi, more than an hour -- and several of the DVDs are mix and match so that you can skip the less intense miles and do extra high intensity miles. I never minded her voice as much as the synthisized music…

No. It tastes like squash (somewhere between summer and winter varieties). It is stringy when cooked. I like it with an herb, garlic, and butter sauce.

Thanks all! I've been reducing carbs over the last week or two, but since I'm on travel next week I'm waiting till I return for full-bore. Everything is now out of the house and my first grocery stop when I return is planned at the Amish Market.for clean meats. Then my local organic market for veggies. I'm excited and…

Thank you, Sam. That does help.

^^ This. You need to let him know that you want someone who can support what you are doing.

Depends entirely on how cranky work is about non-work Internet usage (that varies). I love my mobile apps, but I miss the things that they don't do too.

Sadly, I'd have to be different -- I'd pick it up and toss it. Everything else requires too much effort

They look positively awesome! Thanks. to deb3129: put them in the MFP calculator, presto you have calories and nutrition info.

Food and overeating are often a means of emotional coping and masking feelings. Once the food and overeating are no longer obscuring facts, the obvious becomes glaring. This isn't the case for all -- but it certainly isn't infrequent. Just sayin...

Nicolette is right . It has to come from within. Often the what drives us is coming from someone else -- that will never last! It's what is in your heart and in your head that is what will last. Maybe the motivation from before came from your significant other's influence; you have to find your own. Best wishes; friend me…

Yes, please go to the classes. I had been on a medically advised very low carb diet for more than 1-1/2 years and found out at my class my carbs were way, way too low. The staff at those sessions are specialists on diabietes -- general health and nutrition. The diatician reset my carbs to breakfast-35g, lunch and…

Moms, in general, don't set out to do harm to their children. I don't know your mom's circumstances -- but in today's society some of her choices may have been imposed upon her: job(s), shuttling kids to school and activities, money (or lack thereof), time and energy, whatever. All of that is in the past. Someday you may…

That is huge! Congrats to you. Thank you for sharing this with us. Well done you.

I'm depressed. I saw the Endo this afternoon and was seriously less than impressed. He took virtually no history, did not even ask if I had questions, didn't want to hear the back-story, and seemed critical and dismissive of both my GP and the neurologist; he doesn't even know them! I hate docs like that; their attitudes…
