Hi everyone from cloudy Saskatchewan. Our temperatures continue just below freezing but very little snow. I was happy to have a lazy day at home today. I have leftovers to heat for dinner so the lazy day continues. Tomorrow is Dave's birthday and he wants chocolate cake, as usual! I think I can summon the energy to make a…

Hi to all you new folks, nice to meet you. Also, welcome back, Jeffrey. I have missed your posts. We had to do a city run for a few groceries so I could make some dinner. Back to reality. In a few days I am off to Quebec City. I haven't been since I was a school girl. It is for a skating event which should be great. My…

Hi everyone! Just back from a wonderful week in the sun. We had a great time in Puerto Vallarta, mostly just soaking up the sun. I am really tired and off to bed. I will try to catch up on everyone tomorrow. Enjoy Thursday. Gayla

Thanks to everyone for your birthday wishes both here and on Facebook. You are all such an important part of my life. The family took me out for a wonderful dinner. I did cave and have steak, salad, baked potato and a cup of tomato orzo soup. It was all delicious and I only had a few bites of dessert. Happy Anniversary,…

Hi everyone from chilly Saskatchewan! We did a little shopping for Dave today, very little. The stores were very bust. Apparently no recession here!! I need to start packing so that I see what I need. I know I would like 1 more bathing suit but can live without. I will see how many summer clothes are company friendly.…

Hi everyone. I did get to the Podiatrist today and apparently there is a fracture in one of the small bones in my foot. He says it is a classic presentation. He has taped it up with some padding under my foot to spread my toes apart. It hasn't made it feel much better yet but I am hoping it will soon. I kept it elevated…

Good night, dear friends! I don't know why I seem to be so busy, I don't get anything accomplished. I was madly reading The Help because there was a wait list for it at the library I knew that I couldn't renew it. I finished it very late last night. It is one of those 'I can't put it down books' so it didn't take much…

Hi everyone. I am ready for bed so just saying hello to you all. We remembere our veterans today and for us, especially my Mom's brother who was killed as a prisoner of war just before D-day. I guess it was really an execution as the prisoners were all taken outside, lined up and shot. We really need to remember our…

Hi everyone. We were away all day and have watched TV all evening. I wanted to post on Marie 's special day! Marie -- I hope you had a wonderful birthday today. Sorry I am so late.  Gayla

Hi Marie. Not sure what I said but thought I better clarify it. We are not going across the pond . . . Yet! We are just going across the border to the US. We are planning a trip to the Canadian Maritimes next summer but have to check with my in-laws to make sure that they will be home in Prince Edward Island before we book…

Hi to you all from cloudy but warm Saskatchewan. I am not sure what the temperature but comfortable with a cozy bunny- hug (I believe you folks to the South call them Hoodies) I am sitting on my butt watching tennis and looking through travel books. I really am hopeful that this is the month that we do get away! I am…

Oh me, oh my. I have a confession to make. The candy in the house has been calling my name and I am so weak!!! I tried to find candy that I don't like but I don't think they make any! The weather is still nice so I am hoping we have lots of kids to get rid of it all. Happy Halloween to you all. Gayla

Hi everyone. I have been busy feeling sorry for myself as I fight a cold. It is much better today, thankfully. I did get my flu shot as I didn't have a fever. I likely should have waited. However, all that said, my heart is with all of you who are bravely fighting much worse than the common cold. I didn't see a post from…

Hi everyone. We had a busy day but wanted to pop in to let you know I was thinking about you all. Loved the joke, Jake. Glad I wasn't just taking a swallow when I got to the punch line. So funny! Take care and keep smiling. Tomorrow is another busy day. Gayla

Hi everyone. Just watching a movie with Neil and catching up on posts. Have a wonderful Sunday. Take care and keep smiling. Gayla

Hi to you all from sunny Saskatchewan! Marie, You bite your tongue about that white stuff!! I am hoping the snow stays away for another month, at least! I still need to clean out my garden and planters. It does seem to freeze hard every night but the days are lovely. It is garbage day tomorrow so I need to get my freezer…

Sandy -- so sorry to read your news. Some people respond very well to chemotherapy, even stage four. Staying positive is so important. I will remember her in my prayers. Be strong. Marie -- thanks for the bean information. I am adding some to soup tonight so I better get busy. Tennis is over for today. Tomorrow's…

Hi everyone from rainy Saskatchewan! I, too, have been missing but still thinking of you. Once again I am watching tennis. I now have my exercise bike in the family room, I just have to remember to get on it!! I made baked beans today and tried to lighten them up a bit. Dave loves beans but wasn't terribly impressed with…

Hi all and welcome new folks. I am only here a minute as I am making some soup for dinner with the turkey broth I made after Thanksgivg dinner. I was nearly finished my longer post when my iPad battery died. It did warn me but I thought I could complete it. Bad decision. Have a great mid-week. A late Happy Birthday to…

Hi to you all from sunny Saskatchewan. I did write a post yesterday but it vanished into cyberland -- grrrrh! I should be washing my floors but so far have not done that. I cleaned my fridge yesterday and today I just love opening it. It is so organized I am wondering who lives here!! I hate that job but obviously, love…

Hi everyone. I am still here and care about you all. Have a great Wednesday! Take care and keep smiling. Gayla

Good afternoon to you all. It is cloudy and looks like we may get some rain. We could use a good soak as we haven't had much in September. The farmers are very happy about that. After a bad harvest last year I am happy for them. I need to get out and get the rest of my tomatoes off the vines. I am tired of tucking them in…

Hi everyone from sunny Saskatchewan! Just a little FYI for the music lovers. Check out You Tube Marc Martel Somebody to Love especially if you were a Freddie Mercury fan in the day. You won't be sorry. Back later, just leaving to pick up Neil. Take care. Gayla

Just popping in to say Hi. Life seems to keep moving along! Neil is happy to be coming home this weekend as he is scheduled for a massage, one of his favorite things. I had my hair cut yesterday as well as a manicure/pedicure. I think I deserve it once in awhile!! I am very tired and it is past bedtime. I hadn't been doing…

Hi all. Just a quick question. It seems to me that awhile ago someone mentioned freezing buttermilk. I can't tell you how much buttermilk I have thrown out over the years. Does it freeze well? What is the shelf life in the freezer? Such good tips found here. Jeri -- I think of you so often. I hope your appointment goes…

Hi everyone. What a glorious Autumn. I hope it sticks around for a very long time. We had the family all home for dinner on Sunday which is always fun. I roasted a nice size chicken and served it with fresh garden vegetables and stuffing. I made some cranberry sauce and yes, I enjoyed. My biggest confession is that I…

Hi to you all from sunny Saskatchewan. We are having lovely temperatures and no more frost for awhile. I need to get outside today to clean up my flower beds and planters. There is a big curling bonspiel going on this weekend and I really hope to get there. My cousins son is on a very good team and hope to catch them. I am…

Hi to you all. I also am feeling a bit green with the talk of cleaning gals as I call them. Likely the stupidest thing I did was letting my cleaning gal go when I retired. I really miss her but know that there is no reason I can't do it myself. Dave does all the vacuuming but the rest belongs to me. If I didn't spend so…

Thanks for your suggestions Sandy. The puzzle for me was that the way I used to do it was Copy in Word and then use the paste button at the top toolbar in MFP. It is not there now, so I had to learn a new way. Dave does get impatient with me but did once again work out the problem with me and i will now cut and paste right…
