there could be all kinds of reasons why it is taking you longer than you'd wish to recover from strep. your calorie intake could easily have nothing to do with it whatsoever. i find it sad though that you are being pressured to lose weight for modeling.

jinx.

personally, i love the body fortress chocolate whey protein shakes. chocolate itself i try to avoid because its simply too high calorie (and habit-forming).

i can feel you though. those emotions weighed on me for a long time. i was just never taught to/expected to eat right as a kid and it created lifelong consequences for me. as a young adult i changed the way i ate and lost all my excess weight. it was very liberating. being heavy as a kid is really tough on you emotionally…

i fill my 32 oz. water bottle and mix it with one packet of special k2o lemonade mix. 30 calories 5 g protein 5 g fiber. that gets me halfway to 64 oz. and then i'll just fill a 16 oz. bottle a couple of times with cold tap water and i am there. often, especially if it is a good exercise day i'll go over that as well.

when people ask this question i can never imagine having this problem.

here it is from the thread pinned right above where this thread is currently posted: "13) Topics about politics, religion, or sexuality are not allowed and will be deleted. This includes posting images or signatures. Unfortunately, we have seen that topics about either of these subjects are highly likely to result in…

actually, if you read the rules politics and religion are topics that are not supposed to be brought up on this site for exactly that reason: it gets nasty quick. i think what it says is if you want to talk politics find a political website but this site is for health and weight-loss.

my surgery went great. i had lost 56 lbs. prior to surgery and have lost another 63 since. for the puropes of bariatric surgery there are two types of liquid diets: a clear liquid diet that includes only water, teas, clear broths, sugar-free jellos and the like. that is only required right around your surgery. after that i…

which surgery are you thinking of having?

it is an amino acid therefor if you are getting your proteins in supplementing it further might not really be necessary,

ebbs and flows in weight loss are going to be a part of any program anyway. don't let it get you discouraged.
-
that was kind of my point all along yet i guess it got lost because i was in fact snarky. somehow, it got interpreted that i was lobbying for some "unhealthy" plan that counters the "healthy" plan when in fact the only thing i really recommended was that people trust medical professionals over random people posting on…

well, i know there are all different kinds of fasting/cleanses etc. most of us lapbanders are keyed into the whole protein shake thing but others use juices and teas and such. i just ordered some powdered spirulina powder and was reading about how some japanese elders supposedly live for years on nothing but water and…

there also are some really sensational low-cal dressings out there. i for one love the vermont maple farms dressings. they are killer and extremely low cal.

sounds like you are doing real well to me...
-
actually, to some extent i think that is what most on this thread are saying. that's why i found this thread refreshing.

35% protein seems pretty high to me unless you are on a very low calorie diet. mine is set for 20% and that gives me a goal of 71 g for the day my goal at 35% would be like 120 g or so. which i do hit on high exercise days, but thats because my goal goes up that much higher...

going over in carbs can most definitely effect your weight-loss. regardless of caloric intake, excess carbs can prevent fat-burning since too many carbs in your system give your body a path of less resistance than fat-burning...

and even two people who are consulting and following dr.'s orders. doubly impressed.
-
wow two whole pages of a thread about eating back your exercise calories and not a single mention of "starvation" or the so-called dire consequences of netting less than 1200. i'm impressed!
-
no that's just the deficit you need to lose weight. what did you put for your activity level? i am going to assume it was sedentary and that is why it set your calories below your bmr. you probably also selected losing 2 lbs per week...
-
okay, so i did advise you a little..lol...
-
rather than advise you i will tell you my experience and you can start to discover yours. early on, i was on a 1700 calorie a day diet because i started out at 150 lbs overweight. i lost very well at that level and continued to increase my ability to exercise. eventually i had to lower my calories and increase my exercise…

keep in mind fluctuations during weight-loss are perfectly normal and you need to get used to them. don't get discouraged when the pendulum swings back because it will. as for eating back your exercise calories many will tell you that you absolutely should. in the end its up to you to figure out what works best for you and…

killing it!

you can also make your own decisions and eat how much you choose to...i know its a radical concept but...
