Is there some way to share the recipes you've added to your MFP recipe database?

Morning all, looks like a busy posting day. See there's another PNW peep, though I guess I'm not officially PNW since I'm only in Oregon in the summer. Need my sun so Vegas works in the winter, lol. Oh, and another golfer, finally getting back into it after a year hiatus. The only problem with golfing in Vegas, though, is…

Oh, and Kathy, if you are having trouble learning the software, always remember it's not you, it's the idiot who designed it. Truly. A good design is intuitive. Unfortunately most programmers are not good designers.

RJ, great that you found a challenge that motivates you and works. Natalie, Seems like the "no sleeping" is going around. Hope they figure out something soon, that makes the days difficult. Cathy, awesome that your boss will let you leave early. Tell your son I say "thank you" for his service. Randy, I love New Year…

The Mediterranean diet is a very good one if conducted in the manner of the subjects. The study was done in Greece in the '50s and they were still feeling the affects of the war. Meaning they were poor and having to grow their own produce and get their protein from the sea. There was also quite a bit of activity in their…

As some previous posters wrote, it will depend on age, how much you have to lose, genetics, and how quickly you lost the weight. I have older friends who will always have that "apron" and "batwings". No amount of exercise will make skin "shrink in" either, but it will strengthen and define the muscles and perhaps show…

As posters before me have said, simply amazing. Thank you so much for posting the pics, as painful as that was, to provide the rest of us inspiration to keep at it. As you said, do the best you can each day and the weight will come off.

Getting a late start to the day, but oh well. That's what being a west coaster in the US is all about. Sally, bummer on the flat tire and funny how someone running a weight challenge would not have the right scale. :ohwell: Barbie, yeah, we've been together 32 years now (since high school). He just can't seem to cook…

Michelle, yay on the m'jong. Amanda, wow, you've done amazing. Funny how family can think you are too thin, they get used to the fluffy you. Hello to the rest. Well, had to make some interesting changes to my food journal. DH decided to make a wine/butter sauce for the lobster ravioli tonight. Fine, planned for it, but did…

((((Kathy)))) You depression is understandable. It is hard taking care of parents, especially when you have a father who needs so much care. Acquiring computer skills should help, learning new things seems to help us humans, our minds like to be active. I'm glad you have such a great husband to support you during this…

Morning all, about to start my day once I finish this post. Got on the scale for week 1 of MFP and am down 4.5 lbs, nice  @Jane, sorry about the back injury, it sounds so painful. Yay for being under 200 but listen to the doc. @Barbie, <snort> at having your husband log in. You had a good excuse and I hope the…

Such in inspiration. It's so obvious in your post how much happier you are. Congrats, you put in the hard work and you deserve it.

Thanks for the great welcome, ladies. I have a hard time remembering names and normally have a pad and pencil when I read posts, but not this time. I have a friend with severe headaches that is getting experimental treatment right now, as in shots to the head. I think it is a similar thing used in botox. She has to cycle…

Oops, realize I forgot to mention that we live in Bend, OR during the summer. I don't know if I would survive full on Vegas heat!

Hello ladies, this looks like a wonderfully supportive group and I hope there is room for yet one more. I turned 50 this summer and celebrated in style :drinker: I live in Las Vegas during most of the year with my husband, where I am a full time graduate student at UNLV. I used to be a high school science teacher, before…

I take Whole Food's 365 Adult Multi as well as a probiotic since weirdly at my age I have problems with thrush. I've done a bit of research and try to stick to the 100% amounts, so many things interfere with each other if you start taking mega amounts of minerals and vitamins.

Great post to read in the morning!

Howdy and welcome. I'm day 4 into my program using MFP and really like this site. Lots of great people and the tracking setup is very easy to use. I think you'll like exercise once you start feeling a little better by eating a more nutritious diet, and by finding some activity that you like to do. BTW, many many people who…

I get my produce at Hispanic and Asian markets, so much cheaper there. Learn to make casseroles using ingredients like beans, rice, quinoa, whatever grains you prefer. These can be frozen in single size servings. It's time for you to change your children's palate as well, eventually they will rather have real food than…

You look amazing, such a wonderful job. However, gotta say you look dang cute in that very first pic you posted. Love the smile and flrty sideways glance

You look mahvaelous, dahlink.

Can you provide a little more information? Height, calorie range, weight? All of those can factor into the answer. How long have you been weight training? It can take a while to truly build muscle, but it is denser so you could lose inches while maintaining the same weight.

You have already received some good advice. One of the reasons I've become such a yo yo dieter is that I have the old "all or nothing" mindset, so if I have a "bad" night or day or meal, it blows it for me for a while. It somehow means I don't have to track for a while. I need to learn to get right back on after a night…

Crystal, I just started yesterday so pretty new as well. I really like how things are working so far, much easier than some of the other online nutritional sites I've tried. Can't wait to see our progress :-).

Hello, I'm more pescetarian (will eat fish occasionally) but transitioning my diet to a more vegan style. As a previous poster wrote, I find it is the dairy that is causing some issues both weight wise and sinus wise. Today is my first day posting to myfitnesspal so not sure how it all works, but would love to be in a…
