Tuesday was a pretty awful day for me! My plumbing backed up on my house! It was slow in coming but suddenly I was out of most of basic necessities. I had to wait til Wed for a plumber to come, (and the saga is still continuing. After a brutal stressful day at work, I got home and my heater had gone out. It was freezing,…

You can do this!! And it feels better sounds like you have some strong support at home too! :) We will always be here to help you- and congrats and the start of your weight loss/fitness journey!

Ok- can't afford new clothes? Last time I checked, I could get at least 2 pairs of pants, or 2 tops and and pair of pants for that price. If you are frugal and shop sales, you could probably get even more. This is the reality- nothing, nothing tastes as good as healthy feels. You see the things you need to work on, it can…

If you can do this- anyone can do this!!! I am so glad you recovered your mobility and you made these changes! Congrats and thx for inspiring us all!!!

You will burn many more calories when you become an instructor! :) Also- a Zumba Jammer master class is usually 1.5 hours (some go 2 hours!).

I do understand the water haters- because a long time ago I was that way too. They have simply replaced a bare essential need with associating it with a flavor. And soda addicts feel they are replacing soda with it. Water is water- by itself its own essential pure form that we all need. Don't think of "this or that" if you…

If only it were that easy. First, need to decide where to go. Sounds like this has been a workout at home attempt. Not all can afford gym so have to assume there may be other factors. When I first started my weight loss journey I found a friend who lived close who also wanted to work out- so we'd meet 2-3X a week and go…

This is a good thread- and any feedback on a diet that is contriversial is good to discuss. I had stepped back off the low carb, (leaner low carb- not tons of bacon, eggs or red meat), in decision to incorporate more fruit and whole grains- and after months of trying this - I have lost nothing! My food cravings for bad…

Yes- you can! And you are setting yourself up for success by not waiting til the new year- it is a lifestyle change- ups and downs, and you have to be patient and learn what your body needs. Feel free to add me as a friend as you begin this journey! :)

I bought a lot of those videos at one point too- the amazing thing is, I rarely would use them. I found I was not a workout at home kind of person. I needed a gym, or other venues to focus to work out. Home for me is rest- its a rare treat, and I won't work out there, no matter what equipment I buy. I found something I…

Last week my goal was a little too high- actually suffered a bad cold by end of week, so this week taking it down Goal 4400 Weekly Goal: Mon: 1124- Elliptical 30 min, Zumbatomic 45 min, Zumba 30 min Tues:517- 50 min Zumba Wed: 771 taught Aqua Zumba Thur: 771 taught Aqua Zumba Fri: 700 Body Pump class Sat: 632 taught Zumba…

My feedback- they are excellent for the health. If everyone's colon worked well on its own, there would be no IBS, or Colon cancers. This treatment especially when done by the right professional can and is very spa like and relaxing. I walk out of there and I am 5 lbs lighter- seriously. My skin will clear up and severe…

4400 goal- 3883 done- 517 remaining- ironically that is exactly what my Zumba class I team teach at will be 517! Plus my daughter just got hired on at the gyms I teach at, and wants to work out- so I may jut get on an elliptical or treadmill and walk out some soreness from the week- Body Pump kicked my butt- I want to…

Ha- if only! This is their socialization! I work for a gym so I see this a lot in classes and out in weight room. Not everyone is there to "work out" many are there to "work it".

Its almost always the food- what we eat. Consume more than expended, you gain- or maybe you just stay in one place. Change the diet- and change your routine too- your body adjusts to the workouts- need to continue to change it up :)

4400-1641- 2759 remaining

I use oats- a little sugar (or brown sugar/sug sub- whatever you like) a little cinnamon, and 2 tsp of half and half. Eat while hot, don't overcook. I don't use any processed foods like margarine or fake fats- that may be key. If I want butter, I have butter, I just have a very small amount. I have added dried fruit, fresh…

Really??? Really???? Insults?????? This is pathetic

you need to try and set boundaries at your office- let your coworkers know you have started this journey and would they support you. And if they ask you anyway, its up to you- you can be stronger than temptation!! A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips (or booty- or wherever you carry it). Think about where the…

lol- seriously? Why?

Because I am- and the longer I am the more I like it- nobody is in my bed but me- and the thought of sharing- um, no. If I leave a dish, towel, or anything out, I know who did it, it was me. I have been single for about 13 years. Many of those years I was a single mom so not interested anyway- kids moved out about 2 years…

Yes- this- my first thought- 50 lbs in a few months is very fast- how did you lose it? Were you on meds or was in natural? What is your goal weight?

Last week my goal was a little too high- actually suffered a bad cold by end of week, so this week taking it down Goal 4400 Weekly Goal: Mon: calories burned (how they were burned) Tues: calories burned (how they were burned) Wed: calories burned (how they were burned) Thur: calories burned (how they were burned) Fri:…

Yes, as soon as they don't fit- as in, falling off, they are gone. It has worked, I never went back to those size 22/24 clothes. I am just a few lbs/inches away from my next size- and I cannot wait to shop (and drop off clothes). Too expensive? Whats more expensive? Too much food, medical bills, medication? Just a matter…

I would love to- but 90% of my working out comes from all the Zumba I teach- wondering if wearing a pedometer will capture steps- or at least most of them.......then I could add in walking

I no longer shared my weight loss plans with my family, I just started doing it. Yes, we have all cried wolf too many times, and I agree, its not on them to be a cheerleader 24/7. Can I ask how much weight you are hoping to lose? Your weight loss ticker only shows 20 lbs to lose- is that right? Fear of what might happen…

probably not so much non support as just not relevant- if someone doesn't share your struggle they may not know how to support. Either way- that is what makes us successful here, we share the same goals, to be healthier, to get/stay fit, and to make real lifestyle changes. Feel free to add me as a friend :)

you and I are very similar in our body types!! My weight at 165 is as low as I can go with my frame. And I gained the same way- slowly, hidden a lot with my height. But I was lying to myself. Now that you have that rant outta the way- welcome to MFP! I'll send you a friend request- weight loss is a journey, not a race! :)

Like this- Carla, based on your age/height (I am guessing 5'6 from your photo- how close did I get?), your BMR is 1787 calories. Harris Benedict Formula To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows: •If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) :…

congrats! Feel free to add me, I started at 340, down 71 lbs so far. If you are going to wait to start Monday, don't sabotage your weekend with "the final meals" of bad foods. The balance is to find a way that you can have pizza, or beer, or whatever, in moderation. And log you food every day- do this for your success! Its…
