Thanks Sarge! I need to go buy some new dumbells and a bench to make it happen. I canceled my gym membership a couple years ago when we bought an elliptical. BTW, you look great!

Thanks everyone for the information. I basically have the same goal as the original poster. I want to add a little more strength and maybe get a little definition. I have lots of activities each week and not a lot of free time. I'm going to do about 30 mins of lifting at home (at 5:30 AM - yawn!) 3 days a week and do my…

Way to go!

You look super cute. Congrats on your loss and I wish you the best with everything else

Dude. Totally. I even posted half naked pics of me at the beach. I got three responses. Whatever.

I find the "genetic roll of the dice people" a little offensive. I'm thin, I'm on MFP. I've been "on a diet" for the last 15 years of my life. That's how I stay thin. I eat well, I exercise. I have the lifestyle that most people on MFP are trying get to (except I don't lift heavy, I don't really care about a ripped body)…

Great job! I can see the difference!

I totally agree with you about the travel. We have learned so much by traveling and gaining other people's perspectives. Taking control and not being a "V" (victim) is a constant thing with me. It's so easy to slip into blaming others for whatever is happening with me. Overcoming my own fears and self-imposed limitations…

Thanks for the compliments, except for my wife :flowerforyou:   We are very fortunate to be able to travel and have friends with access to free and discounted places to stay

Great Job! I set my calories at 1/2 pound a week loss and that seems to keep me pretty even. If I go over or under a little any given day it seems to even out. Or, just keep going! You get get your BMI down lower if you wanted to.

I notice your husband's hair has gown a lot. Oh, and you look good too ! :-) Golfing in Hawaii! Nice! Maybe I can sneak out while my wife is asleep and play a round when we're there this week!

Morningstar veggie bacon is really good. I served it to some meat eaters and they new it was different but they didn't suspect it was veg. and they really liked it. They were shocked at how good it was actually. I can't remember if it's vegan however. Give it a try. It's easy to cook in the microwave. Enjoy!

I almost wimped out tonight. We had a complicated evening with a dishwasher repair guy showing up late at 6:40 PM. Before that I was getting a hair cut. Before I knew it it was already after 9:30 and my wife was going to bed. I was feeling really let down that I was going to wimp on the challenge already. I told my wife I…

Hey Everyone, I'm Dave and I'm lucky to live with my wife in Southern California (it was 80 degrees here today). I'm pretty close to my goal weight and now that all the holiday partying is over I'm going to get there in the next few weeks. I'm looking to get stronger as well. Also, we have a trip to Hawaii coming up so I…

I've got my wife doing the 30 day challenge with me. We'll probably do very brisk (4 mph) walking mostly. I run as well and will do that at least once per week and hopefully twice. I'm looking forward to running another 5k in the spring after having knee problems after a 5k I ran in the fall. I was hungover today (oops,…

I've used splenda and it's good. I usually compromise and use half sugar and half splenda.

We're going out with the neighbors to Indian! It's our xmas eve tradition.

Nice Job Dude! Keep it up!

Try setting your weight loss goal to be more aggressive and you'll be told to have less. How many calories was your workout? That sounds like a lot of calories.

I did a 5k on Labor day at a little under 9:00 mins/mile. It as too fast and I had inflamation in my knees for weeks after. I'm done with physical therapy now and I will try to slow down, but my legs like to go fast. I think 10 mins/mile will be a good pace for me.

I went cold turkey and switched to green tea. My wife and I probably have 10 different types now. I did that for a long time and then started having coffee again once or twice on the weekends.
