I've been running for 3 years, but my 'happy pace' is always a ten-minute mile, despite adding intervals and such. I'm not super competetive, though, so maybe that's why I don't really ever see much in terms of speed gains. My race PR's are: 5k -- 27:11 (that was my very first 5K and I don't think I've ever gone that fast…

I puke if my blood sugar gets low. It doesn't happen that often, but I marathon trained this past summer and it did happen a couple times during long runs in intense humidity/heat. I just learned to eat well a couple hours prior to strenuous exercise (giving enough time to digest) and also refuel with gels and such as I…

That kick is your body rewarding you for doing something that is good for it; exercise --- it releases a flood of endorphins, which can numb pain/discomfort and gives people that "runner's high". Enjoy it, you've earned it!!

Melanoma, all I gotta say. I have witnessed the disease first hand. Please please please, educate yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4jgUcxMezM PS -- tanning-bed burned nipples are also a great reason to embrace the pale. :)

I agree with stevwil41. Also? You have had significant weight loss, you might be at a point where your body is trying to hang on to weight. It's normally at this point that people need to start eating more to lose more weight! It sounds counter intuitive, but I would say if you continue to see results like this you may…

Excellent call. This made my morning :)

Mmmm.... Machu Picchu and an Ultramarathon through the desert (The Badwater would be phenomenal...)

Try it!! I agree with Angie -- give your body a little bit to adjust. I personally would maybe just try upping your calories before you try zig-zagging?? Also -- 155 is where I get 'stuck' as well. So annoying!!

:) Love the picture. Great idea.

Sorry, I forgot to log these yesterday!! Tuesday -- 3 miles Wednesday -- 3 miles Saturday -- 3 miles Total = 9 miles

Wisconsin represent!!!! :) You will love it here. Your daughter is obviously a very intelligent person.

I totally know what you mean!! That's like people who are socially inept and critical and still feel the need to post on message boards!!!!!

Wow, did NOT realize this was such a hot topic! I am not against de-clawing cats, but I must say, I don't think it's necessary at all. If you train your cat to stay off your tables/countertops and give it a scratching post it should do fine and not damage your furniture. I've owned a few cats, none were declawed, and never…

Yep, Hal Higdon programs are great. Another great site I started using this year is www.dailymile.com. You can log all your miles run for the year -- seeing those number get higher each week is a great motivation to keep on keeping on. ALSO, if you find your race on that website, it will show you OTHER people who are…

Wednesday -- 4.25 miles run Thursday -- 3.5 miles run plus 1 mile walked Friday -- 4 miles run Saturday -- 2 miles run plus .25 miles walked Total -- 15 miles Merry Christmas everyone!!!

You have fantastic bone structure!! Beautiful in every picture, but it's amazing to see all your progress. What a great Christmas present for yourself. :) Beautiful family as well.

I believe people are misunderstanding your question?? You consider yourself skinny fat and are trying to become healthier, right? :) I vote high protein, smart carbs, and strength training. Circuit training will kill more calories and get you there faster. This is so easy to type. Why can't I do it? Haha. But anyways,…

As a student and mom of three, going to the gym is unrealistic for me. I have successfully worked out at home or outside for years. I think the trick is to keep enough of a variety in your home to keep yourself excited. And also designate specific time periods where you work out. Even if you don't think you're going to…

I'm 5'1.5" and a mom of three, I started on this site three years ago when I stopped nursing my daughter. I lost 32lbs. relatively easily -- over just a few months. Since then I've hit a plateau and reset my ticker and now I'm having a harder time starting to lose again!! So thanks for posting this, I needed to see some…

We do this, too!!

Christmas is hard!! And for me, once I start eating poorly I want to KEEP eating poorly. Just get back on the horse and ride, sister! Maybe make yourself a fun salad to go with your pizza?? Give yourself a little bit of leniency, don't get disappointed, just look at it as an opportunity to keep improving. Also? Cute hat.

Wow, fantastic!! I'm hoping to hit a measly 900 before the end of the year -- your numbers are inspirational and glad to hear that you are injury free!!

Oh my gosh, that is awesome!!! To the OP -- I made tapas last year on New Year's Eve -- they are just a bunch of different Spanish appetizer-type foods. They are kind of fun and a little bit different. It was a hit. One of my favorite dishes was an egg-stuffed tomato, very pretty!

I'm a guy. Oh, crap, nevermind. Over and out.
-
I am in a similar situation -- I am studying radiography so some days are spent up on my feet in the hospital, and others are spent sitting doing homework. I have my settings set to sedentary and I log my workouts. I don't log hospital days as 'workouts', I consider any of those calories burned 'bonus' calories.

Aw, that's still 2.5 miles more than a lot of people I know!! No worries, this was an off week for me as well. We'll kick next week's butt!
