  • This only counts as a support network when there is something sensible to support. I find it hilarious that you posted this spiel without expecting the opposition to reply to it. Your habits will not sustain you, as you know, and whatever weight you will lose will not matter because you will cut years off of your…
  • I think it's kind of obvious that if you fit in your alcohol into your calorie allowance, you'll still lose the weight. It's about overall consumption. But with that said, I find it impossible (for myself) to be able to eat enough during the day and evening to keep myself full AND drink as well. If you have a calorie…

  • To my knowledge, there is nothing you can do to prevent weight gain when it regards alcohol. :frown: You can't go out and get drunk and still successfully keep a healthy lifestyle, nor keep the pounds off. Alcohol is usually full of calories and the fat doesn't burn the same way in your body. Shape Magazine has an…

  • Bingo. Not to mention they're awful to their employees (as I've seen first-hand). Never again.

  • I always look at the diary of my friends. I look at it as inspiration and it often makes me think twice about the Double Double I had for lunch from In N' Out. With that said, I give true criticism and if it really does look like a great effort, awesome! If not, I'm like you, OP. Better luck tomorrow!…
  • I delete those who are unsupportive or never talk to me. The ones that are inactive get deleted between 4 - 6 months, depending. :flowerforyou:
  • My biggest advice to you is quit weighing yourself daily. It does not help, at all. It's best to do it biweekly or weekly. You are stressing yourself out. What matters is inches! :flowerforyou: Eat well, work out, weigh yourself weekly to biweekly (I like weekly and I see results!) and measure yourself when you weigh…
  • Partnership. To find someone to share all of life's adventures with.
  • My reward will be brand new Nike's and a shopping spree at Victoria's Secret's PINK store for yoga pants, tees, shorts .. All fitness related.
  • This! Excellent advice. :flowerforyou:
  • I understand what you're trying to say, but if your theory were really true, that "reason" is why I'm heavy. I NEVER want to work out. Ever. When I get up and I just do it, I feel great! There is never really a day I wake up and say, "Yes! Let's WORK OUT!" I don't think it has anything to do with stress or injury;…
  • I'm not a mother, but my mama let me go when I was 13 to the mall, to walk around the town - with extremely frequent check-in's. She got more protective as I got older. The world gets uglier and uglier. When I have a daughter, no way in hell is she going out at that age. I remember getting spoken to crudely by older guys…
  • You look strong, active and I hate your shirt. :flowerforyou:
  • Skin cancer runs in my family. Not worth the risk, IMHO. I should add that it is very difficult for me to tan, so it takes a lot of exposure to get any color, which is why it's a big risk to me. :flowerforyou:

  • 500 calories is not enough, and I've seen my former employers try the HGC method, lose up to seventy pounds and gain it all back when resuming a normal eating schedule. It's madness. The only one it's worked for was my ex-boss, who shortly after losing the weight had lap-band surgery. In my experience, doctors don't know…
  • I think Sensa sounds pretty stupid. Sprinkle some magic sweet or salty dust on your food (read: HEALTHY food) and EXERCISE, and Sensa gets all the credit for the weight loss. :noway: Why not save the money and .. gasp, learn some self-control (if I can do it, anyone can  ) eat well and keep active!
  • Yes! I now look forward to logging in to talk to all of you wonderful people, to share tips and recipes, to debate, to log my calories and exercise and make friends. I  MFP.
  • My resting heart rate is anywhere from 74 - 85, and my heart rate when I'm hiking is around 140 - 170, when I'm running 120 - 140 and when I'm doing my workout DVD's anywhere from 130 - 180. My fitness zone on my Polar FT4 is from 129 to 180. You need a better device.
  • I remember him saying the same thing! What about all this talk about magical acai berry pills that will "melt the fat away"?!
  • I think I'd rather be mute than blind or deaf. I would still be able to hear and see the world, and at the same time, actually think before I "speak" - aka write it out.
  • You Pick 2 with their turkey on country with no sauce (or with light mayo) and their low fat chicken tortilla soup. Mmm.

  • I think when you're financially stable and emotionally ready, that is when you should get married. That said, I'm 22 years old and I'd sure as hell like to be engaged soon. I've been with my guy for six and a half years and I want a two to three year engagement.  His family and my family constantly ask.
  • Venti iced coffee with sugar free cinnamon dolce was my absolute favorite for months. :drinker: Only 130 calories. My current, though, is probably a tall skinny caramel macchiato. I've been cutting down on the size. 100 calories.
  • I question the amount of dedication and love you feel for your partner. When you give yourself completely, you are capable of separate lives living in a union - I am my own woman, but without him I'd feel like a part of me is missing. He's my best friend and the love of my life and it should never be anything less.
  • To those joking about it (i.e. buying a stupid boat), karma is not a fun thing to play with and this is a good exercise to bring you to a point of realization as to how important that person is to you if you are not already acutely aware. If they're not important to you to the extent that you can joke about it, divorce and…
  • I'm not married, but if I lost my love of six years I would be beyond devastation. I would spend the week trying to do anything I could to make his last days memorable for us both. I would forsake everything to be with him until his last moment. I'd probably lose my mind. :frown:
  • Failure is a part of the journey, lovely! :flowerforyou: We're here for you! Add me as a friend if you need the encouragement.
  • I'm 22, weigh 190lbs, 5'5" and I burn on average 280 - 320 regardless of level when I put my all into it. :flowerforyou: I have the Polar FT4 HRM. I should add - by "putting my all", I mean no breaks, constant movement and using 3 or 5lb weights.
  • I'm a full time college student. I work in the fast food/restaurant industry and generally find that pulling my hair into a shoulder-draping ponytail, the small tattoo behind my ear can be covered (the same goes for when I become a nurse - it can be hidden by hair). It can affect my job potential but it has yet to prevent…
