This is going to yield either multiple opinions, or this could get 'ugly'.... Ive been almost one year with out the grain/bread group of that wretched pyramid - due to some serious health reasons. And, because of the severity, I will be doing that for the rest of my life. I have a metabolic issue going on right now that…

Research Dr. Atkin's Phase One list of induction foods..... you will never be rid of carbohydrates unless you just consumed fat and protein. Carbohydrates are much healthier when consuming vegetables.
-
Some people consume them for the right purposes.... then there are others who just go hog-wild with them... some people may find a stall, while others very beneficial.. its really the person and their decision on when to have them, how often, etc... Personally, the act of eating actual food in the morning will make me…

If you can find the name of the company/vendor on the label, see if there is a website or phone number online.... Im actually not surprised its not on MFP...

Planet Fitness is one of the "recognized" gyms on my health insurance plan. My monthly fees are reimbursed to me with proof of attendance. My only out-of-pocket expense is the yearly contract renewal fee.

I have lost my cup of coffee from LMAO...

YEAH.. this is my kind of topic!! I have a "Titan" vegetable peeler set: regular peeler and a shredding-type peeler to make noodles!!!! I use zucchini, summer squash and EGGPLANT!!!! I will take my trusty kniving skills to that eggplant and cut "lasagna" noodles out of it as well!!! light pan sautee to help retain some…

Im going to second this as well. Atkins' phase I is a cut-and-dry section of what to have and definitely what not to have. Im actually one of those people who apply to the Metabolic section of the book, in fact its worse: there are no doctors who can diagnose the type of metabolic disorder I have despite the fact my sugars…

So true!!!!

Yes.. I will second this. You do not eat heatlhy at all.... there is an awful lot of junk there and your willingness to choose the wrong foods is part of the problem, so unfortunately, you are making it a problem for yourself...

I dont find it expensive at all... I only purchase fresh vegetables (frozen will do when prices are too high for fresh but it doesnt happen often), real meats but purchased in bulk. I bought a 50# case of fresh boneless chicken breasts for $1.68/lb last month. A 40# case of 80/20 for $1.99/lb, pork center cut for $1.99/lb…

The absolute best time to weigh in is first thing in the morning when you wake up. Use the bathroom.... and strip down to get the best scale reading.

Perhaps could you expand further and define what you think is 'inexpensive'.. what kind of money are you able to play with? I agree with the other comment - even if you had a recipe for four people.. thats one meal for dinner, and three for future meals provided no one steals them from you....
-
Agreed.... its personal preference, how chaotic one's schedule might be in order to fit in exercise, etc... Im up at 4am and out the door by 4:45am to hit the gym for over an hour...each day... I find early mornings for me make me more focused for the day at work....

But that is good - Im sure he would gladly pitch in to help out as well if you discuss with him "you take this night, Ill take that night", yadda yadda yadda.... My husband does his own laundry as I do my own. I do the cooking but he does the cleaning of the dishes. When I know he has had a long day, Ill pitch in to help…

No reason why your spouse couldnt pitch in to help also... hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink?

Bulk cooking can also tie into the usage of a crockpot... Matter of fact, I just made 4# of meatballs tonight, about 3 gallons of marinara, and prepped up about 20# worth of vegetables... most of which was frozen for future meals... the remainder for the fridge for salads, munching and sides...

whoa whoa whoa... hold on a minute... You were having skin-infections.... Did anyone do a pre-certification to request an exception for the insurance to consider coverage????? This is more than cosmetic if you were having actual medical problems associated with excessive skin due to weight loss.. this is a whole new…

I disagree with this if you are someone who doesnt make good portion-control decisions. Even too much fruit will cause problems for some people... Same goes for the type of vegetable one chooses to have an abundance of... if they have insulin sensitivity or sugar sensitivities, your statement definitely is false…

Part of the problem with low-sugar anything, is that the product in-question will have some sort of replacement ingredient(s)... albeit artificial sweetners, chemicals, preservatives, etc... Its the same thing that goes for low-fat products, low salt, low-this/low-that... if they took something out, they have to put…

It is definitely possible but it does require alot of dedication... I tend to be more of a savory addict to be honest! LOL! What helped for my situation (medical-related) was doing a complete elimination of certain foods because of how horrible it was impacting my health. It took away the cravings for me, and even…

Difficult to make suggestions when your food diary is locked up. Preliminarily speaking though, you probably are not eating enough if you are working out an hour per day.... but, Im sure we could fine-tune via your food diary. 8-)

yeahhhhhhhh Ive got a digital scale from my culinary days where I can weigh out by grams, ounces, kilograms and actual pound measurements... its AWESOME! Full purpose for meal prepping, weighing out the bulk meats I buy, etc....

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! The cysts were that bad they did an Oophorectomy?!? Im surprised they didnt consider ovarian 'drilling'... Im so sorry hun!

Surgery to remove excessive skin (and in some cases some of the fat as well) due to weigh loss is often referred to having a Panniculectomy. Ive known surgeons who will do a combination of thigh and abdomen because of how they do 'meet' anatomically-speaking. Personally speaking for me.. I would do the whole damn thing at…

I measure/weigh everything during the prepping process. If the food item is to be cooked (for example, a burger), Ill weigh the product AFTER its done cooking for more accurate readings.
-
low sugar? Well, I dont eat prepackaged or processed foods - only real fresh foods. Im not really sure what your focus would be on or if you are trying to find alternatives... ??? I dont even crave sweet things anymore nor desire them to be honest...

If you are making it fresh, there is no such thing as super-high-in-sodium....

She shouldnt have to change the way she looks for people to accept her.... thats a bandaid effect... She needs to work on her mind first...
