Have you considered connecting with a counselor or professional who you can talk with? You definitely have alot more going on here than just a personal issue with binging. Sounds like alot more needs to be addressed if you hate yourself this much to consider a nickname like the one you have willingly chosen.

Well, there is a hidden quirk with Leeks... the example the mariniere sauce and how it calls for wine. I find that if the leeks are freshest at best, they dont break down as easily in wine. Leeks are a 'funny' thing... but thank goodness they are affordable for sure!

I make a Mariniere over fresh lobster, scallops and mussels... Those leeks have to be super-fresh otherwise the sauce just isnt the same....

I have to tell you, I spend less on fresh produce and my husband gets a kick out of the quantity that comes home. They had a sign-up list at work for our company BBQ. I signed up to bring a vegetable tray with a homemade dip. We are about 45 in our dept alone. I didnt spend more than $25.00 for fresh produce alone for this…

From a medical perspective, you will need vegetables for the colon to work 'better'. Even though induction is only 20 net grams, those vegetables need the naturally occuring fiber to help your bowels 'move'. Otherwise the excess protein can cause constipation... We have a patient who was medically advised to follow Atkins…

Any herbal tea of the mint/peppermint varieties will help... drink plenty of water to flush the excess sulfur that has collected. Or, warn your loved one that if they get you mad one more time......lol!!!

Im an on-the-fly kind of person. I have my usual list of fresh produce, herbs, spices and meats that I purchase but I enjoy my meal planning on a day to day basis. No different than working in a professional kitchen.. I love it!

OK.... Im all set.. never mind just disregard this thread and let it move to the bottom..... thanks

Is smoked mackerel ok for LC ~~~~The smoking process can cause some water retention problems for some people. I would consider this as a preserved meat and under Atkins' guidelines, its not something they would focus on for consumption. What is cauliflower rice ~~~~Basically you boil/steam up your cauliflower as if it were…

To properly measure your increased calorie count, I would suggest you visit http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ This follows the Harris-Benedict formula... Its easy to use and it gives you your BMR, TDEE and your TDEE-cut. If your cut is lower than your BMR, then eat above your BMR by about 100-200 calories.…

I promise you the only thing major is the preparation of everything... otherwise its basically a stew's worth of food in a bowl of refreshing broth....and its easy!!!!

You really need to be patient.... not everyone is up at this time, and some folks might be commuting to work..... Where you are post-op, you really should discuss this with your dental surgeon.... where you are having problems getting calories in, the dental surgeon is the person you really need to work with...especially…

ummmm, sorry to tell you but know one here ever said they were looking for that piece of cake...

ROFLMAO! I second this... For gardening, I wear my HRM simply for the fact I want to get a close-to accurate picture on the calorie burn reading....

What angers me about this is... the Endo I see as a patient AND work with... she has practiced in the UK, India and is now here in the USA....
-
Are you freaking kidding me? I would be asking the Endo for written proof. Ive been on spironolactone for two years, I am a non smoker, and currently taking birthcontrol which works with the spironolactone (Ocella) My BMI when I began was a 47, Im down to 40.1. Never once did any issue of blood clot come up or any…

Did you see your PCP? Or a Dermatologist? If it was the PCP, you definitely need to stop seeing him/her for your hair-loss issues... See a Dermatologist... he/she will order some blood work to check your testosterone/estrogen/androgen levels, your insulin levels, etc, etc. Male-pattern hair loss IS treatable.... Its a slow…

Well.. you could try this route: For each day of the week, pick a protein for the dish and focus on creating it from there. Monday: chicken Tuesday: seafood Wednesday: pork Thursday: beef Friday: Turkey...... yadda yadda yadda Or... consider it a cultural angle Monday: Mexican Tuesday: American Wednesday: Italian Thursday:…

In addition, Im going to also include this: If you find you are still thirsty despite the amount of water you are claiming to take in, I would highly suggest you seek the advice of your primary care physician or Endocrinologist. Polydipsia, which is abnormal excessive thirst, should be discussed with them. More than likely…

Increasing fat in a low carb and/or ketogenic intake is perfectly fine, in fact, you need to increase the fats for proper digestion. It has been medically proven through the original research done by Dr. Atkins that patients who were diabetic, pre-diabetic, hyperinsulinemic, metabolic x patients who went on a low-carb…

Its easy... dont eat bad food... eat healthy food: up your vegetables, up your proteins, try incorporating protein smoothies... enjoy some avocado on a salad, peanutbutter goes great with celery and carrots for a perfect balanced snack. Right now, Im diving into a Spiced Pumpkin Protein smoothie and Im really wishing I…

Well.. I use a particular brand that is extremely low-carb... and the flavors are just INCREDIBLE... Designer Whey www.designerwhey.com Im really hooked on the French Vanilla and Chocolate. Yesterday's protein smoothie for me did involve frozen berries but kept reasonable.... Their website has a permanent coupon that you…

Ill second that statement... Welcome aboard, southernldy!!!

I will second Laura_beau's... MFP is not the place for a medical-related question. We dont have access to your medical records, labs, previous history, and there are no Hepatologists or GI specialists working as MFP staff who can help you. Because you are a chronic patient, you need to take this inquiry back to the…
