I usually plan out a couple of weeks worth of foods. Even if I'm only eating chicken & rice with veggies, I can throw different herbs or spices in there to make it a bit different, or omit the rice, slice up the chicken and throw it all into a tortilla. It's practically the same thing, just in a different vessel for a…

I lost the majority of my weight not by logging on MFP (and I still don't), but by buying a journal and logging everything in there. I found having it with me at all times, and being able to quickly & easily just jot down what I was eating/what exercise I just completed helped me out a lot. I've never operated on a…

I find hummus to be very filling, especially with some toasted pitta bits and some raw veggies (carrots, cucumber, celery, peppers, etc.). Other than that, I just drink a lot. I used to drink mostly water, but lately have been trying out different teas.

Well, I have around 25lbs to lose right now, but I started over 110lbs heavier than my current goal. I'm more than willing to offer advice and encouragement to help you get where you'd like to be :)

We have similar goals and hangups. I've had MFP for a while, but always forget to use it to its full potential. Let's do this! :)

I've lived in the same 15 mile radius from Cardiff my entire life.

Awful picture, taken a week or so after my 22nd birthday. This was after losing about 3 stone (approx. 20kg/40lbs) and really pushed me to make changes. Taken today, a few days short of a month after my 23rd birthday. I still have a stone or two to go (10-12kg/20-25lbs) until I'm completely happy, but losing what I have…

Your ticker is making me hungry. Lol. I have the same experience as zoodalia though. It makes me hungrier. These days, instead of chewing gum, I'll reach for some plain nuts & a 0% yoghurt. It may put me ever so slightly over my calorie goal, but I combat that by taking a longer (or brisker) walk when I take the dog out,…

I worry about my willpower more than anything. Especially when I eat a few 'naughty' treats or skip an exercise and don't see the scales tip higher. It's a bit of a panic that I'll see that and think, "well... one more won't hurt." But at the end of the day, 100+lbs of weight loss doesn't come by luck. You've made changes…

I've been in the same boat as you (although I'm not in college) and I've found myself sitting in a car trundling through a McDonald's drive thru, or drinking water at a bar on more than one occasion just to have an opportunity to socialise with my friends. The more I've thought about it, the more I've refused to give in…

Fabulous losses. The mud run looks wonderful, I wish we had things like that in my local area... although you can get quite muddy running around a football field, haha.

Taken a few weeks after my 22nd birthday, last year. Pay no mind to the windsweptness, it's the UK, we have terrible weather :P And taken a couple of weeks ago. I was allergic to cameras before the first picture, so I don't have any pictures before that (that I can get my hands on, anyway)... the full journey isn't there…

As long as you weigh at the same time and compare those readings, it really doesn't matter. There's a normal fluctuation in weight (for some it's 5-8lbs, for some less or more) every single day, not to mention various other factors such as clothing & how much water you're taking on/losing. This is usually why you're told…

You're just becoming more efficient at your workout, either in the manner in which you perform it, or the way your body reacts when you do. It doesn't mean you haven't done enough; if you're strength training, you'll experience some soreness to begin with (and it's usually worse the day after the day after) but it'll fade…

This is absolutely normal. Going days without eating, and when you do eat not giving your body the nutrition it needs, results in atrophy (however mild). Your body is reversing that, and your metabolism reworking itself. Keep on with your eating and exercise habits and eventually, you'll see results.

I will say that shakes are usually quite dense and filling. Slow-burning, too, and therefore you might be better off substituting your protein shake for a cooked meal. By the looks of things you'll still get your daily protein. Also try not to miss meals; a snack of a yoghurt & a piece or two of fruit still constitutes as…

The great thing about weight-based exercises is you don't have to do them all at once to see results. If you have absolutely no way you can do the pull-ups/chin-ups right now, skip them (do something like upright rows while the video is playing, so you're not just standing around doing nothing) and then take a walk to the…

My favourite quotes ever are, "Motivation is what gets you started, habit is what keeps you going" and "It's a lifestyle; train as if there is no finish line." If you can stay motivated for a week, two weeks, three weeks or a month, you'll develop habits that will eventually strengthen into everyday lifestyle changes,…
