Heck, if I knew of an employer who offered such things I would possibly be switching employers. My work did a fitness challenge to start the year, randomly assigned teams, and the bar was set so low that they had to change the rules after week one, to make the challenge longer than two weeks (because of me/my team- and…

@lporter229 - I was always a swimmer not a runner. It's taken my best friend 15+ years to turn me into a runner. The last time I got into a pool - 2,000 yards, which would have been a nice easy warm up in my swimming years.... nearly killed me, and took me an hour.... I completely understand.... @KatieJane83 you just gave…

3.1 today. Friend and I took a route we normally avoid because I'm a wuss and it has some major hills. But, we have our 8 mile trail race this weekend, and it was a good way to remind me I actually AM prepared for this race this year, unlike last year. Friend is crazy, but she is also smart at getting me out of my anxious…

@iofred - yours is possibly the most awesome bling I have seen. It makes me smile. Trying this again as half my writing disappeared into cyber space @angmarie28 you may want to try the bigger size on as well. My feet are a tad smaller than yours, but I'm generally right on the size cutoffs, and I tend to prefer the smaller…

First workout in a while that was anything resembling strong lifts/reportable Crazy friends roping me into half marathon training is seriously interfering with my lifting. ☹️ Squats 5x5@50lb Did a 1x5 of front squats as well, that mostly told me I still have form issues on my squats in general that need worked through.…

Ummm my May is looking a bit crazy. But mostly because my best friend/running buddy is a bit crazy. May 6th Greenland Trail Races- (8 mile edition) May 20th??? I think??? - said friend has us roped into a 5k of some kind May 29 Bolder Boulder 10K June 4 (still practically May, right??) Mickelson Trail (half)marathon Unless…

Treadmill at hotel was what I did Sunday for 2 miles. Then today i was supposed to switch towns, but 6+ inches of hwavy wet snows said otherwise. So, treadmill again. I made it 4 miles, my goal was 5, but this hotels workout room, although delightfully nice, is like 9million degrees... so I gave up at 4 and went and played…

So my running buddy was doing a half marathon with a different friend today. So, guess what we had on my training menu.... so, I officially proved to myself I can complete a half marathon, even solo, which adds confidence to the equation for sure. Run 8 minutes, walk 1 was how my intervals went. I meant to cut back to run5…

Well... today was fun. Did a site visit in the rain and puddles and mud. Then did a lot of other driving in the rain. And apparently still didn't get it all out of my system. I planned today as a rest day before attempting a distance pr tomorrow.... and I'm usually very much a fair weather runner.... but I still had a play…

3.2 tonight brings me to 71.6/100 I am actually being calmed down greatly to read how many of you are not meeting that long run=30% of total thing. Someone passed on that advice to me earlier this month when I solicited for half marathon advice. And I thought I was doing pretty good on mileage for the week, until I did the…

4??? I think?? mile walk with coworker. Followed by 3.3 mile run. - since I didn't have tracker going during walk, I do have proof that I won't ALWAYS be "running in place"
-
@WhatMeRunning that actually makes sense! I had to think about it for a minute, because I knew I had done some shorter runs that were less than the 12min/mile - but those days also had longer runs or walks that it apparently decided trumped the other, so it still had running in place as the tag. Map my run used to post a…

6.7 last night. Coworkers found me a trail to run on so I didn't go running on the highway again. Since I am trying this strava thing out.... I have one question. It is syncing over to my mfp feed as "running (jogging), in place." .... Now.... I know I am slow..... but I promise I AM MOVING. ... sooooo what do I have set…

Had pizza and too much wine last night with the boyfriend. I was already considering some major diet revisions after last week's migraine issues. But the impacts of last night made that oh so much more likely. I am traveling the next two weeks straight for work, and was driving today. I had no intentions or motivation for…

Yes, and even compared to many of us on here - you still have a rockstar pace. For example- friend took away my 1 minute walking intervals for our run last night. Made it the 6 miles I was supposed to, and the pace was 12:17/mile. I broke 10 minute miles for a 5k.... once.... barely.... Anyways- 6.1 yesterday brings me to…

@WhatMeRunning - Running with the cows is actually the event that started me on my journey to running my first half marathon. My boss is from Kansas and wanted to do it this year, and I was the only other "runner" she knew. (I was barely living through 5ks at the time.) She then fell off the wagon, but not before she got…

Y'all are amazing to try and keep up with reading, let alone running. Very persistent migraine has been keeping my mileage disappointingly low. Have pulled off two early morning mini runs, and one walk with a coworker. (1 mile, 2.2 miles for the runs, and 2.9 for the walk.). Which has me at 44.6/100 Luckily the "long run"…

You, or any of the others on this thread are welcome to friend me. I am not as dedicated to lifting as I should be, but I love it, and I enjoy like minded lighting ladies!
-
I have done that restarting thing a lot.... even this last stretch where I have been more or less on the wagon, I have done some ping pong weight wise that is entirely dumb diet related, any of you are welcome to add me... strength in numbers

So much of the stuff you talk about sounds great, and I am always feeling like I lack creativity and inspiration on the lifting side. However, I am also left wishing that I had visuals for a lot of the activities you mention. Although, now that I type this, it sounds weird. But you do make me think!!

4/10 -6.5. 37.5/100 Of which 2.5 was an attempted run with running buddies kids in tow- one on bike one in stroller, kid were not cooperative enough to call it a run. So sent the kids with dad when he got home- we then did 4 miles for real May have to investigate this strava thing and see if I like it.... mostly have to…

4/8 - 14.5 31/100 Today's running sucked a lot, and a lot of that mileage was walking. But, we were also way off plan, too. Our original plan was 13 miles to prove to ourselves that we could cover that distance. This we technically accomplished. However, we got asked to do a 5k- so plan changed to "nice easy 5k, break, run…

So, it's not real often that MFP expands my actual vocabulary. But, I had to google lagniappe. And, now that I know what it means, I completely love the description.

2 miles paying it forward. Ran with a coworker, who is just starting, doing week one c25k. 16.5/100

4/2 5.5 4/4 7 on dreadmill (my longest no interval run EVER and longest dreadmill run EVER) I'm kind of excited about it. 4/3 2 14.5/100

I am very happy to find a supportive group of runners. It is harder to discover than I thought it was. I am currently training for my first ever half marathon, and have a few other races leading up to it. I am mostly doing run/walk intervals. I would gladly accept any advice or input or tips on half marathons that anyone…

Well, I had to prove it to myself... But I can live thru 50... Once anyways. Really have to work on the push-up part, and the stringing them together parts... But I think it MIGHT not kill me.
