  • Anne Happy Birthday!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Yesterday was my son's birthday and I had a birthday lunch for him. Bar B Q and all the trimmings along with a "Chocolate Thunder Cake". I didn't make anything low calorie, but did manage to limit myself to one meal only yesterday, very small portions and lots of…
  • I just read an article on "Personalized Cure for Candy Cravings" from the May 25th Woman's Day, I haven't tried it but it states that if you crave chocolate reach for Fresh Dates or figs rolled in Cocoa power, if you crave tangy treats: kiwi, pineapple or mango, tart sweets: grapefruit, tart dried cherries,Soft and gooey…
  • Diane, Congratulations on your new grandbaby,:flowerforyou: Nancy
  • Kathy, Your picture is an inspiration, you are looking great!:flowerforyou: You are definitely on the homeward stretch! Happy Birthday to all the May birthday girls!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: It looks like we are having a slight break in the weather here so I may try to work in my garden today. I'm leaving town tomorrow…
  • Barb, You' are on target with the "committed" comment , most days I need a padded cell:laugh:  That's why I am anxious to be able to work in my garden - nothing like exercise to clear the mind and some days it seems I don't have much mind left to clear:laugh:  My husband isn't able to work anymore so I'll…
  • I haven't watched the Biggest Loser this season until tonight and to see these three lose so much weight is definitely an inspiration and is motivation to persevere. I made the tempura vegetables that my husband wanted and stayed within my limits. Of course I made too many but our four legged children; Bosco, Susie and…
  • Barb, Since we don't have any kids at home I have my Gazelle in the family room, my husband isn't too crazy about it :grumble: but he will just have to tolerate it. I tell him it's on my side of the room so it isn't bothering anything. He's being very supportive even if he doesn't like to see it. He…
  • Anne, Glad to see your "faces" are working!   Hope you have a great day! Noticed you live in FL. My twin daughters live in Orlando and from what they say it is really hot there these days and really need some rain. Wish I could divert some of what we are getting that direction. All, No big…
  • Happy Mother's Day to Everyone::flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: I just realized it's after midnight so it is officially Mother's Day. I made it through Saturday - stayed within my calories and drank the water. :drinker: Still can't work in my garden:sad: too wet, water is standing in puddles but the good news…
  • Anne, I may not be the best one to help you but I move my cursor over the symbol and double click on it and it inserts the description of the one you picked and then when you post it automatically converts to the picture.  Nancy
  • Hello everyone - taking a break from working on financial statements that are due tomorrow. It has been a very hectic long day with one benefit - no time to eat. I really need to eat something, but it's too late and I'm too tired.  I did log my food that I had today only 340 calories and 4 cups of water, I'll…
  • Bosco is 2. He's a big part of our family now that the kids are grown. We basically swapped 3 children for 3 dogs. Never a dull moment. Nancy
  • I decided to update my ticker with a picture I had of our Bosco. Now I have another incentive lose enough weight so you can see his face!
  • Hello everyone. Today is another rainy day in TN. :grumble: We have had rain 5 days straight and yesterday was the worst, over 4 inches. I checked my garden this morning it has water standing in it, but the lettuce has come up and the okra is peeking through the ground. Hopefully by next weekend it will dry out…
  • Kathy, I'm sorry to read about the accident. I'm very glad all are okay. I went through a similar accident years ago and I know it is very unsettling to say the least. Finally getting to work in my garden. The tilling, raking and planting has really given me a work-out. All of the fresh vegetables will be worth the effort…
  • Finally checking in - April so far has been crazy. I had hoped to start my vegetable garden. We've had crazy weather 70+ degrees, then snow and ice, 70's again and then tornado watches and warnings. Hopefully I can get my garden started - I definitely burn off the calories when everything starts growing, but I also have…
  • I hope Bosco is doing better. This is so unreal. We have a Beagle as well and guess what his name is? Bosco. I love my Bosco, you just want to hug beagles because with their eyes they always look so sad. Received your e-mail, but work has had me covered up for a solid week day and night. Traveling tomorrow through Tuesday…
  • Thanks for starting the new thread! My goal is to lose 5 lbs.
  • Haven't checked in in a while. It's been really busy at work. Even though I've been very busy, I've stuck to my calorie intake although there hasn't been much time for exercise. One thing I do is I strickly stick to my calorie intake for at least 2 weeks - then I'll splurge one or two days not pig out to where I'm stuffed…
  • I love chocolate so I have 1/8th of a cup of M & M's each afternoon - eat them slow and enjoy only 105 calories. I also have 2-4 Hershey Kisses at night if the daily calories allow 29 calories each.
  • Instead of using a crust bake individual servings and crush about 5 crackers and put on top and bake for a few more minutes.
  • I have the Southern Light Cookbooks too, but one book that I find very useful was published years ago by Readers Digest that is still available on some of the web sites that sell books. The book is titled Great Recipes for Good Health.
  • I'm a chocoholic and I still in indulge, but in moderation. My afternoon reward is an 1/8th of a cup of M & M's only 105 calories - gets me through the day.
  • I would like to join the thread - gained 70 lbs. over the last 7 years. Joined myfitnesspal January 1 with 58 lbs. to go to reach my goal. Since Thursday, I've lost 2 lbs.
