In my experience, 2-3 weeks. After I injured my calf by over-training, it was about 1-2 weeks before I could even walk again on it properly (without looking like Smeagol) and 3 weeks before I really felt comfortable doing any light training.

1. Nope - they're different substances entirely. Fat cannot become muscle. 2. @thavoice has is right. "Starvation mode" isn't like people think it is. It describes a group of symptoms which can include (in some cases) decreased metabolic rate. If a person is actually starving, he or she will lose weight.

Changing my weigh-in days absolutely helped. When I changed mine to Monday morning, I stayed more responsible and consistent throughout the weekend. I'd say it's actually been a huge factor in maintaining my weight :)

I totally agree with the original poster. My ability to socialize has definitely dwindled since I started losing weight but it's been completely worth. I don't want to go out to restaurants or bars and eat/drink high calorie crap. I certainly don't want to be around people who discourage my effort, or encourage me to eat.…
