Try supplementing your veggies with lean proteins instead of fruits - lots more benefit with no downside, and similar calorie values. Within the first month of MFP, I dropped my fruit servings down to one or less per day, and it's been easier to curb sugar cravings when there's less sugar in my diet. There are some sweet…

My go-to place is the Talbot's outlet. If you aren't near one you can order online. I get jeans for $7-10! Regular price is $89! I love a bargain! Most young girls think Talbot's is for old ladies like me, but they have many different jean styles including the boyfriend jean which is the low rise everyone seems to be…

Be your best every day in everything you do. In the end, you want to minimize the "would have, should have, could haves". Toby Keith says it well: "If you're trying, you ain't" The right thing to do is always the right thing to do. Advertising in all forms is a lie designed to part you and your money. Think for yourself,…

I'm a purist when it comes to coffee - dark roast, black

Took our kids to Vegas last week to see a show, first time there for everyone in the family but me. My 12 year old daughter is walking beside me down the strip that night (we only walked from the show to the Bellagio to see the fountains and then were heading back to our way-out-of-town hotel. I don't want anyone to think…

You have every right to be super proud! As someone trying to reach the same goal at nearly twice your age - I have to say that you will be so thankful in the future that you chose to make this change now - omg, I sound like my mother! Enjoy your new self! Revel in your soon-to-be newlywed bliss and congratulations on such…

Does a toned body sound better?

Super results - your dedication shows! Keep up the great work!

If people in your office are very personal and likely to ask a lot of questions, it is very hard to not appear rude. You may find it helpful to keep a few standard answers for the inevitable questions about why you are eating something (or not eating something): "Dairy just doesn't agree with me anymore" - when offered…

No but I should be! almost 1,000,000 miles logged so far, so I guess I'm qualified!

ElGuapo: Insanity testimonial guy (assuming since I can't see the back of your shirt!)

Inspiring! You're looking fantastic! I passed a woman running on the trail yesterday that I would have liked to punch a year ago, but this time all I could think of was - that's me! What a great feeling!

I wear a cheapo version of Spanx under my gear - high-waist control undies from Target (around $12). Can't do anything about the thigh jiggle, but it keeps the posterior and the grab handles in place! PS I am also #180 and around 5'2"!

Purely anecdotal evidence here, not claiming to be an expert! All carbs are not equal. If I stick to fruits and veggies, whole grains and over-emphasize the lean proteins, I crave starchy sugary bad carbs much less. After Easter, with a sensible portion of ricotta pie and 3 gob-smacking good Lindt chocolate bunnies - it…

50-60 hours every week. Flex time makes it easier, but I start early (5am) and end late (10pm) with a few 1-2 hour breaks during the day for kid stuff, going to the gym, dinner, etc. Normal expectations for a salaried employee in high-tech. :ohwell:

www.nerdfitness.com I was drawn to it by the name, being the "nerd in residence" in my house  but I confess that it did appeal to my concrete sequential nature!

My competitive nature loves it when I beat my own times/distances. I feel good once I get into my breathing groove, but really hate it when my legs start to tire before my lungs do! Yesterday was a running day for me, and I dreaded it the whole ride to the track (Once a week I run the school track to keep track of lap…

I'm in - 43 lbs down, about 35 to go! Sending a request....

Working at home has made this whole adventure possible - I hit the gym after the kids go to school, my colleaques are all over the world, so time zones don't really matter much and I can spend the day however it suits me. I really like that I can cook/prepare all of my meals now and never have that "oh *kitten* there's…

I tried running on the treadmill and I just can't keep myself from tripping over my own feet! I ran a woodland trail on Sunday and old dirt roads last night and I can skip over roots, rocks and stumps without any coordination issues! I don't know what the deal is - but I am much better coordinated outside.

ALMOND CASHEW + FLAX (OMEGA-3) are my fav

During my workouts, when my trainer is pushing hard - I curse loud and clear: "This *kitten* ain't nothing - I can do this!" and "motherf*cker". He really appreciates my salty language and it never fails to make us laugh (especially since it's coming from a 40-something suburban mom!)

Shrinking 43 year-old meatball here! 5'2" SW: 225 CW: 183 GW: 140-150?

This^ I went from a 40DDD to a 36DDD and am a runner - this combo makes running possible! Underwire minimizer bras work the best. My trainer recommended this when I nearly flew out of my cups doing my warm up jumping jacks one day!

Sorry to disappoint, but if you've ever found a Lego in a REALLY interesting and personal place - do share!

Besides dryer sheets (so super itchy, I don't know how I walked around with one in my pants all day!) - what other fun things have you found in your clothes? Another item found today - nerf bullets (the velcro kind) attached to my bath towel! Least favorite: pb&j in the seat pocket of my truck, unwrapped of course!

If you have a Meat House near you - theirs is the best and I can buy just the number of strips I need instead of a pre-packaged amount. Bacon is not something I can allow leftovers of! I also really like North Country Smokehouse (it's a local smokehouse that distributes through the regional grocery stores). If you aren't…
