  • Interesting that this thread came up today... I was talking to my friend this morning about how I was afraid that losing weight and finally reaching my physical goals would change the only part about me that I ever really liked... My pleasantly plump bubbly personality :blushing: In my case, I'm hoping that my weight loss…
  • Great story! Thanks for sharing and congrats on your happier and healthier life! I'm slowly learning the lessons you've written about but am struggling on the psychological hurdle. It's hard for me to embrace the positive changes and I feel like if I lose weight, my self esteem about my looks will get better but it seems…
  • Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm going to try my hardest to take your advice. How did you come to your realization or how did you get to the point of changing your thinking? If there's anyone else out there who has the same dilemma as me, I'd appreciate any advice on how you got over it.
  • Sigh... It's hard. I've accomplished a lot of good things in my life and can be proud of those things but when it comes to physical appearance, I've always been so hard on myself. When I was younger, I grew up w sisters who were all 5'2" and size 0-2 and I somehow grew to 5'8" and a size in the double digits. I spent most…
  • Thank you, everyone for your kind words. @imjolly, I recently started exercising again and it made me feel GREAT until I pulled my back muscle two weeks ago and have been useless since. I think that is part of why I binged today. I thought I was getting better yesterday, was over zealous and hurt my muscles again.
  • CONGRATS!!! You were a fighter and came out a stronger person. You. Are. Awesome.
  • I tend to binge when I either over-restrict myself or when I'm having a hard time dealing with my emotions. Ever since I've realized that, I've been able to lessen my binge episodes. I still fall back into the habit sometimes but I'm able to recognize it better and feel like I have more control. Why do you think you binge?…
  • Wow, thanks so much for sharing and reminding me to stop taking "the not so small things" foregranted! I'm so happy for you!
  • Your SW and GW are really similar to mine. It's great seeing what a difference it makes. You look great!
  • That's great!! Keep up the good work :)
  • Oh my gosh it would be awesome to find my weight loss twin! 32 F CW: 165 GW: 145-150 I'm a terrible runner but am working up to being a good one, I am starting to weight lift with free weights and love it! I've always had a problem with overeating and I have an unhealthy love for cheddar and sour cream Ruffles and Rolos.…
  • Awesome choice, girl. I know how hard it can be and struggle with this all the time!
  • This is just my personal experience, too... I was feeling really tired and sluggish for awhile last year even after sleeping more, working less and hitting the gym. I also watched the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and decided to try a 10 day juice "cleanse". I didn't do it to try to lose weight, I just wanted to feel…
  • Thanks so much for sharing and being so honest. You are amazing!!
  • Genius idea!! I'll do that!
  • I weighed myself on both scales, one right after the other. The old one reads two pounds lighter. I'd like to return the new one but it's probably more accurate :ohwell:
  • There's no shame in that game, girl! You will look fabulous. It keeps me motivated knowing I have a reunion with some old coworkers in 4 months. I want everyone to say how skinny I look! Can't wait. When is the play?
  • *inspired*. Going to incorporate more weights into workout routine! Thanks for the post. You look so good!
  • My muffin top motivates me... Haha, seriously it does. It's a constant reminder shouting at me to lose my unnecessary weight. Some days I try to ignore it by wearing a loose dress, but it always ends up "popping" back up again :noway: Also, try to have your own solid/good reasons as to why you want to lose the weight. Why…
  • MFP gives you an estimate of your BMR and how many calories you should eat in order to stick with what your goal is (i.e. Losing 2 pounds a week or whatever you set it to) but if you are feeling true hunger w the amount of calories you are given, maybe you do want to try To increase your calories. I know you want to lose…
  • HAHA!!! Great stuff but so true. I'm struggling w my woman parts and cravings today, too. I'd say keep your goals in mind and WHY you want to attain those goals help you to put that bag of chips down. I'm not gonna lie, I had half a slice of pizza right after I finished my lunch but I stopped myself when thinking how long…
  • Just like others said, just don't feel guilty and move on. You probably had a much better time than me!!! I was so worried about my calorie count instead of just having fun with friends. Next time, I will prepare better and let myself have a day to eat party food :) Hope you feel better today!
  • Sometimes I feel hungry because I'm too restrictive with myself. At first, I had my daily calorie allowance as 1350 but found I was still hungry. I upped it to 1450 and I know it's only 100 calories but it made a big difference for me. I don't feel hungry before bed anymore. Also, when I completely cut out foods I love to…
  • Thanks so much for all of your help and support, everyone. It really helped me to NOT binge. I'm pretty sure after my light dinner, I'll be able to stay within my calorie limit. NSV! Thanks again!
  • N00b question, but why should I drop to 250 cal deficit when I'm within 10 pounds of my goal weight? I usually take in 15-20% protein/day but I'm also always over on fat % goal
  • I don't think it's "real" hunger. I've always had a problem where I'll want to binge after I tell myself I am not ALLOWED to eat something. I didn't allow myself to enjoy some of my favs yesterday so today I "overcompensate," for lack of a better word. I've set my goals to 400 calorie deficit/day wanting to lose 20 pounds…
  • Good luck!! I know you'll look just the way you want on your wedding day :) You can do it. Add me if you need some extra support!
  • The holidays can be SOOOOO bad for weight loss. Don't be too down on yourself and remember that you've already lost 50+ pounds in total. That's a great accomplishment! Welcome back! You can do it. Feel free to add me if you need extra support :)
  • Great job, girl!!! I also would like to reach my goal by June 1st. We can do it! Good luck!
  • That's great!! One day at a time! I struggle with fasting and binging for as long as I can remember and am working really hard to stop the cycle and be good to myself. We can help each other. Adding you!
