  • @Womona We as business owners are very very frustrated when it comes to the area of DH business. We have called and reported the non emergency line for the city police on the ...shall we say...short term boon dockers. We have called the city on the short term semi truck folks, the ones who slept behind the hedge (which we…

  • @MissMay Thank you as always for starting our wonderful thread. Congrats on the 54 months....impressed @ahoy_m8 I think we all find it is too easy to slip into old ways @ajanet1007 I have struggled with this same pattern too. I have tried all kinds of things. The booze gets put in the garage (helped for a few nights). I…
  • Well I am finishing the month with 19 AF days. But on the 'drink' days it was a limit of my 2 beers while we were out, once while at home. I looked back at my journey so far, last year at this time I was struggling but managed about the same dry days. At this time I am just enjoying the weekend beer. There may come a time…
  • So yesterday with the family dinner I had several glasses of wine but this was over the course of 10 hours so no harm to the sleep pattern last night. So I thought I would get on the scale just to see what an impact yesterday had on me. lol....my scale died. It's a sign it was working on Tuesday. Sheesh had a few glasses…
  • @dawnbgethealthy 1. ouch on the eye girl....please let it heal 2. Your garden is coming right along. 3. you know they make wine out of dandelions right? @ahoy_m8 To answer the question can the cabinets be saved with a coat of paint and some imagination? Simply put no. The design/layout was poor when we bought the house. I…
  • Sad news my cabinet installer guy just bailed on me. Guess an old injury has flared up. Last time it happened he said took 6 months to heal. So after yesterday, the signing of the loan papers. I still have to give the final amount I want to start paying on June 15th...Seriously the funds will be in my account May 31 and…
  • @ahoy_m8 What a lot for you to carry too. But congrats to both you and friend #1. So more progress on the remodel front. Took my plumbers advice and traveled north of our home to look at granite. So glad I did, gal there had an estimate for me in about 10 min. I got to see the slabs, she said all they need is about 2 weeks…
  • Oh my I realized I missed posting and responding eek!!! Good news, I reached out and actually reached a plumber when knew back 6-7 years ago?? Thought he had moved back to the eastern part of the state. Well he had but now is back in my neck of the woods. he came over today to talk about our bathroom redo's. I love this…
  • I wish I could say yes, but DH has been in the wood restore business for 40+ years so he will not have painted cabinets. So I knew the color palette we have used throughout the home so it was an easy decision when it came to the cabinets. Now the handles and pulls will be a different story.
  • Hello everyone! Yesterday DH and I had an opportunity to go to our favorite hangout in the middle of the week and day! It was nice, I drank 2 beers ate fairly healthy then we came home. I took a little nap then back to our regular routine today. I felt in control when we went out and that felt really good. I finally was…
  • Hello everyone I had a cabinet person come out yesterday and measure....yeah. He will have numbers for me today. If we go with them they will be back out for the final measure then off to the local factory for assembly. I even went inside the local place to make sure. I am picky that way. Then it is ordering counter tops…
  • @mimikatr welcome to the thread! Yesterday we went to the credit union to start the paperwork in motion for a home equity loan...sorry ranting but the banking industry who has to satisfy the governments requirements...just too much. If anyone works in the industry I am sorry if I offend. But sheesh we have excellent…
  • @Breathe57103 I am so sorry for your loss, I don't have the words that could erase your pain only know you are not alone. What do you need from us? What can we do to help you heal? This AF family is amazing and here for all the support you need.
  • @MissMay I hope your hands/fingers are feeling a bit better! Get out your heated mitts and put them on! You got me hooked on those. So now that I have a plan in place for the remodel I can only hope it goes relatively smooth. I will know more after Saturday. I have been working on that 'diamond painting' and making…
  • Good day to everyone...... Miracle I am AF still. Thank you all for the encouraging words.....I swear this drama keeps following me. So I just called that Home store and canx my order for someone to measure. Next I got some leads on other directions to get the cabinets made and installed. So moving on. Did I tell you we…
  • quick accountability fly by AF today, not Sunday (happy Mothers Day). Dishwasher leaked/is broken. Will be approx 3-4 weeks just to get…
  • Good day to everyone! So about yesterday, I don't know if I should laugh or cry. So on Thursday I told you went went out for the late lunch/early dinner pub grub with beer. Not a problem. Yesterday, I folded which is not like me anymore but I wanted fish and chips vs. pork chops. So down to another pub food place. Eat my…
  • Happy Friday to everyone! I am looking forward to the weekend for no particular reason, rain in the forecast but heck so what. I have been busy the past few days working on the darn 'diamond painting' lol. But it is keeping me from sweet cravings in the evening. so yeah for that. I really have no fun or insightful comments…
  • Today was a great day, despite the fact 'I' chose to drink two beers. I met DH for a late lunch/early dinner. It was Taco Thursday at the place we went so I had a taco salad (skipped the shell) and two beers. The conversation between DH and I was so much fun we stayed longer than planned. Then I oops and went down for a…
  • Hello everyone! Welcome to the new posters. AF last night but during the week I seem to do ok as long as DH does not mention going out for dinner at the local pub. But when we do that I cut out a day on the weekend. So one of my HUGE triggers has been boredom in the evenings. I have tried so many things to distract myself…
  • They were surprisingly good! I ate them the night I cooked them and for lunch yesterday. May have the last 4 today @MissMay Had not thought about making a sandwich with one. I am more of a dipping in BBQ or Sweet N Sour
  • Ok the chicken nuggets from chicken breast in a can was not bad at all. A bit too big but that is an easy fix. I think it was suppose to be a keto thing but it worked for me. Chicken, almond flour, eggs, onion, garlic powder, and paprika. Poof and bake. Dipped in sweet and sour ..weird I know. Goal this month 22-25 AF…
  • Took a long hike today on a new trail. Met a nice woman and her dog Devon. Devon kept herding us LOL. Relaxing day for me here. Sorta tired after the hike so experimenting with food. Today. Chicken nuggets made with our now dwindling chicken breast in a can. In 30 minutes I will either eat lunch or we will be going out.
  • Whoop Whoop @MissMay Thank you as always for starting us on each months thread. I feel good about last month. I learned a few things about work stress and my drinking. Just that short stint at the 'Spring Fair' was triggering the anxiety I would feel in the evenings before a work day. And then I would drink to relax and…
  • Just a quick fly by to all! Kitchen sink is down for the count along with the dishwasher LOL which lead to eating out, which lead to the 2 tasty beers I had for lunch/dinner. Plumber will be here on Monday. There is a clog some where deep down LOL. Lye and a snake could not find it yet the sink drains so slow that the…
  • @ahoy_m8 That is an interesting hypothesis, and like you I am results orientated and I have to be creative. I can't wait to see how this progresses. Plus I suspect it is not really going to taste very good LOL
  • Well unplanned beer night. We have been talking about going Friday then last night DH comes in and I look at the meal prep set out and just said to myself....nah. and out the door we went. So it was sorta planned but just a different day! So for laughs and giggles. I bought yesterday a wine making kit. I know this is a…
  • Hello to everyone! @Lilylady3k I have not been to New Orleans in over a decade. I stayed a full week in the French Quarter, by myself, and had a blast. Met some of the greatest locals who took me under there wing one night. Pretty windows!!! @globalhiker do you think the extra focus on running has helped calm the wine…
