what species of human ate only flowering plants and insects? the closest ancestors to homo sapiens sapiens would be either homo sapiens idaltu or homo heidelbergensis, and they both ate very large mammals in addition to insects and whatever edible plant foods they could find

one of those cage things that you do squats in (has to be one I can also use for pull ups), a full weight barbell and some extra weights oh wait, 75 dollars.... well that's my wish list anyway, I'd put my 75 dollars towards that. I live in Bahrain so can I have 75 Bahraini dinars instead? The're quite a bit bigger than…

^^^ that's what I heard too. It was originally for the household servants, they had to work on Christmas day, but they had boxing day off and the family they worked for would put gifts in boxes for them. Sorry for the vague explanation, it's what I can vaguely remember from what I was taught in school. For most people…

I saw your profile pic the other day, I am so jealous of your calves. Why do you want to make them smaller? I want to make mine bigger.

I eat all kinds of unhealthy things and I don't feel guilty. Change your attitude towards food. Stop thinking of food as being "good" or "bad" - think more in terms of feeding your body properly and everything in moderation. Two rules that can help: 1. 90% rule (can be the 80% rule if you prefer, or to start with, etc) -…

The wrist measurement only tells you about how thick your bones are, i.e. diameter of the shaft. It does not correlate that well with the size of your rib cage or shoulders. So yes you could be small framed in spite of your wrist measurement. It's actually really difficult to estimate frame size on a person because you…

Thank you for this thread, my daughter's been the target of bullying in school and I have been dealing with it pro-actively, but I took some of the other advice from this thread and this morning I've been coaching her in confidence, body language and tone of voice, and practicing comebacks to bullies - although I have to…

if it comes and goes randomly, it could originate from the lower back, e.g. a trapped nerve. Any unusual leg pain, it should be considered that it may actually be a lower back problem. Especially if the pain's there one minute and gone another time, even when you're doing the same things each time. I've had trapped nerves…

when I used to live in Saudi I used to get this kind of thing all the time, and it wasn't sabotage, just Saudi hospitality. It's rude to refuse food (in Saudi culture) so I'd take some "for later" and put it in a small bag or wrap it in a napkin and put it in my handbag. By the end of a typical week I'd have a handbag full…

none of the above. weetabix. choco mini weetabix is my favourite and but I like all of them, and oatibix. never even eaten most of the ones in your list because they're american and not heard of most of them apart from oatmeal, which I don't like. In the UK it's called porridge.

What's your body fat percentage? That will tell you far more accurately whether you've got a healthy amount of body fat or not. There are big differences in frame size between people, which means that what sizes and weights are healthy for you are very different. I'm 5'1" and I have an large frame and 100lb of lean body…

the ones I've got, loaded up with all the weights that come with them, weigh 21.4lbs each, so using them for lifts that require two dumbbells together that's 42.8lb. However you can make them a lot lighter, and even the empty bar is quite heavy, so you can adjust the weights to your ability (very important) and increase…

I lift heavy and haven't joined a gym. When I lived in Saudi, I had no choice, all the gyms in my area were men only, and the nearest women only gym was hundreds of miles away in another city (there are no mixed gyms in Saudi Arabia). So I bought myself heavy dumbbells and trained at home. I now live in Bahrain and there's…

In the UK dog food is fit for human consumption afaik. when my dad was a young man and sharing a house, there was some row over the food with his house mates and one of them ended up cooking either dog food or cat food for another in a special meal, the guy liked it so much he asked him to make it again. He ended up eating…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_starvation - this article on rabbit starvation aka protein poisoning says that the human liver can't handle more than 285-365g protein for an 80kg male. Unless you're consuming close to that amount I wouldn't worry about it. Bodybuilders usually go for 1g protein per lb bodyweight per…

Every single one of those comments looks to me like a very bad case of sour grapes.... "I can't be bothered to put the effort in to get the grapes off that tall vine (or someone else beat me to it, or I think I'm totally incapable), therefore they must be sour and I'm better off than the person who puts the effort in to…

I agree. I have worked as an English teacher in the Arab world, and it's very important when you work with people of other cultures to know what is and is not appropriate in the culture that you're working in. The manager needs to be aware of this so he or she can stop this person from offending more customers and maybe…

I think there's a way to do a search for other members in the same area, because I've been friend requested by people on the basis of where I live (4000 miles from you so no help there, sorry) - I don't think enough people will see this message plus UK people are in a minority already, never mind specific areas of the UK.…

If your BMR is 3000 your TDEE cannot possibly be 1950. You need do do the numbers again.. BMR = calories your body uses staying alive (i.e. what you'd burn if you were in a coma) TDEE = BMR calories + all the calories you use moving around and doing stuff (including exercise), i.e. total number of calories burned each day
-
That's why you're so hungry. What I would do is I'd calculate my TDEE with an activity factor, i.e. the total number of calories you burn each day including through exercise, and subtract 30% from that, and eat that many calories daily. You will still lose fat at a steady rate, but you won't be plagued by hunger, so you'll…

I agree with this suggestion. Also apple pie is more filling. As nice as fancy food is, if you've not eaten properly for a few days, you want something that's nice and filling. Apple pie and custard would be really good. Sliced apples drizzled with caramel also sounds filling. Maybe sprinkle berries on top, for more…
