I'd love to get involved too. I have just joined a new gym so my November challenges are: Do at least half an hour of exercise a day and make it to the gym at least 4-5 times a week Do 2000m on the rowing machine within 8 minutes by 30th Nov (I am currently managing it in just over 9). I also aim to lose 10 lbs by 30th…

You could always buy sparkling water and stick a couple of lemon slices or mint in it. It's not entirely the same perhaps, but really fresh. It might add a little variety too. Otherwise, I agree with ahamm002 - there are so many different types of tea - it'll probably take you a while to get bored! Good luck.

Whoops, would help if I actually quoted! I think we are pretty much the same: Height: 5'9.5" SW:165 CW: 154 GW:140 UGW: 133 (though it depends on how toned/slim I am - I've never been that weight in my adult life!) Can I add you?

Are you doing it with good trainers on? I did it one day without them and my feet and joints hurt a lot - I think with all the jumping you really need to have something to absorb it a little. Also when you jump make sure you land on your toes and bend your knees, rather than flat footed and straight legged! If you have a…

I know a lot of people who puree vegetables and mix them into sauces so their children don't notice. For instance, if they like spaghetti bolognaise, you can add blended carrots or other root vegetables which thicken the sauce and have lots of hidden nutrients. Or do the same thing with fruits in puddings. Or if they only…

I have no idea about your boyfriend's schedule or anything like that, but I have a similar situation with mine (I currently only weigh about 7lbs less than him though there was a time when we were the same. I have never told him this as he is much taller than me!). He does want to gain weight and for a while every evening…

How about grapes? A flatmate of mine when I was at university used to keep grapes in the freezer (take them off the stalks first) as they then take longer to eat. As long as you don't have sensitive teeth this could keep you awake for a while not only through eating but also with the cold? I often cut up lots of short…

Have you tried watching a film whilst you work out on the elliptical? I do that and I almost forget that I'm exercising and find it easier to maintain intensity - that way I burn about 600-650 an hour.

Wow! We are the same height and you look far slimmer than I do even though I weigh less - you must be pure muscle! Well done!

I started sleeping with the curtains open about 3 weeks ago and I now wake up naturally usually when the sun comes up and then am not shocked awake by my alarm. Another thing you could always do is drink a couple of glasses of water before you go to sleep (though not too much to cause you to wake up at 4am). It's a little…

A lot of the weight in meats like chicken breast or bacon include water that is pumped in by supermarkets (so they can charge more). Thus if you're grilling it and that all comes off, then I'd go with the weight afterwards.

I did Day 1 this evening and loved it. I really appreciate her no-nonsense attitude. Legs are a little sore (I think they're stronger than they are so tried to do most of the advanced leg exercises), but otherwise feeling pretty good! It's great to have so many other people starting today!

I'd be delighted to add you and keep each other going a little? It's amazing how much it helps to have a bit of support. I'm quite new to this site, so it would be good to have someone to encourage. xxx

I wish I was you! Unfortunately I have no idea if that's a bad sign or not, perhaps ask a fitness trainer if you go to a gym?

Hi! I did it for the first time on Thursday but am going to treat today as Day 1 (for me if I have a couple of days off I struggle to get back into it, so I am determined to do the 30 days consecutively). I'm sending a friend request - would be keen to motivate each other if you are! xx

Hi! We sound like we have very similar goals. I am 5'10", last time I weighed myself on Thursday I was 162 lbs, I'm waiting to find out whether my slightly less good weekend (babysitting 3 and 8 year old cousins who eat bread, babybels, chocolate etc). My official goal is to get to 144lbs, but I secretly would like to try…

I usually try to see if I can find the most similar alternative. I don't know what's in it, but try typing the specific meat then pie, or use pasty etc. If in doubt, I always go for the one with the higher calories, as I would rather be unknowingly under every so often than over without realising.

I think this is a great answer - definitely something to remember. Also I think we can safely say that this chap know's what he's talking about considering his results! The way you are losing weight now, more slowly and steadily, will produce a much more effective and lasting result - although I know as much as anyone how…

Hi Kay, You poor thing, what a nightmare! I am a friend's Maid of Honour in September and that's the reason I'm trying to lose weight! Do you think you have gained much muscle? I started at the gym a couple of months ago and I lost about 4 lbs but found that my arms and legs were all bigger from the muscle gain. Though…

I think that's a great idea. Good to keep everyone motivated! May 1st - 166 pounds May 7th - 163 pounds 30 Day Shred arriving (hopefully) on Thursday!

60 seconds for me today. I wasn't able to post over the weekend, but it was 65 seconds on Saturday and 70 seconds on Sunday. I didn't do one yesterday as I had terrible abdominal cramps, so I'm going to try to do two today to make up for it!

I used to make this after swimming when I needed a filling breakfast! 1/2 ripe avocado 1 small / med banana Water to thin / skimmed milk Handful of oats (if very hungry!) You can add a spoon of honey / agave nectar too if you like it sweet, though there is some sweetness from the banana. I usually found that one glass of…

Day 2 for me - 52 seconds. Rather shaky but 6 seconds more than yesterday! I am determined to do longer every day, even if only by a second (aim for 2 mins by end of May). So glad to have found this group as it makes me keep it up!
-
I've just started today. Only 46 seconds! I'm hoping it was only because I've just had two cups of peppermint tea (thus heavier), but I'm not sure that counts. Will go for longer tomorrow!
