Hi, all! I'm an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, working in a specialty outpatient setting now. I'm also about halfway through a DNP program, so still in school too. Also juggling a family with 2 very active little girls. I've been on track now for 8 weeks with my eating, with only a few little splurges. I'm trying to clean…

Hi! I worked nights for years, but when I finished grad school was able to move to a day shift job (I'm a nurse practitioner). Congrats on graduation, and plans for school! I'm in the DNP program now, and know how hard work, school, and a family can be to juggle. So I agree, when I worked nights in the ICU, I needed to eat…

everyone looks great! Thanks for the inspiration!! I needed that this morning!!!!

Oh, and get a smart phone app that does C25K - there are a few free ones. The app will watch the time, and tell you when to start running, and when to walk. For me that is super helpful, because if I have to watch the time for myself, I tend to get engrossed in that and lose track of what I need to be doing - concentrating…

I'm doing C25K right now, and am in week 2. Just as your new shoes have helped with walking, I would also highly recommend getting some good running shoes. Running shoes are differently structured than crosstrainers. I had issues with the bottom of my feet hurting. I suspected it was the shoes I was running in, and went to…

Congrats!! I have the same amount of weight to lose (80lbs) but am much shorter (5'3"). It is so inspirational to see successes like yours. Good luck with your ongoing efforts! You look great!

Great job!! You look terrific! Congrats to you both!

Usually after work, around 5. At Golds' there's a kids club where the kids can go while I work out. I will usually pic them up at daycare and head to the gym. My girls love it, they call it the "kid's gym".

I have a FitBit One. I does track TDEE, but links with MFP and adds in exercise calories automatically (unless the connection is down as it seems to be today). I am happy with my FitBit. It doesn't document strength training well, though because in general you might be sitting or lying fairly still. When I go to the gym…

Thanks for sharing! What an awesome story of victory and self-empowerment!! You've done a great job!

I just did Day 2 of week 1 today. I agree, not easy. I'm pretty slow, but I figure it'll get better. Walking at 3.5mph, running at 5. We'll make it!!

Congrats you look AMAZING!!! You are great inspiration for me!! My starting weight is near yours, and I am definitely interested in lifting. I'll definitely look into CLX. I too am feeling a little intimidated, but working on that too!

great job!!! You look fantastic!!

Great job!! Thanks for sharing!!!

woohoo! this was a syncing issue between MFP and Fitbit, now that it is corrected, my actual adjustment for Wednesday 7/3 is 701 cal!!! A big difference! I feel so much better!!! I am still sore from my workout that day, I knew I needed credit for more than 75 calories!!! Faith in the Fitbit now restored!
-
OK, so I'll just enter them manually, I guess.. it's just that the fitbit dashboard shows the right numbers (at least close to what the machines told me), it just isn't coming through here. Frustrated because I know I burned more than 75 calories. Maybe it's a fluke, and it'll be better tomorrow.... I can hope....
-
Yeah, I noticed that, so I took away the exercise I added in, and my 75 cal Fitbit adjustment came back. On my fitbit dashboard, where it has the lines that shows how many calories I burned at a certain time, during the time I was in the gym the lines add up to 351 cal. I know that it adjusts to your activity level, and…

Hi! I am also newly- coming back, just been back on here about 10 days now.. I have a ways to go too, but we can do this together! Sending you a friend request!

Great job!! You look great!!

that is sort of what I found - 30 over I can live with, 100 - that's a lot.. Do you wear a continuous monitor with a chest strap, or just the one you check intermittently on the wrist?

http://www.calories-calculator.net/Calories_Burned_By_Heart_Rate.html I got 351 - so it seems I should go with what the elliptical said (378). Given an expected margin of error.
-
I did enter age and weight in the elliptical. Yeah, I need to get a HRM, I do know that the elliptical did have a HRM, and said my average HR was 150 (yeah, pretty out of shape :) ). I will google a calories burned calculator and see what it says.

congrats!! you look great!

I am so going to try this!!! Thanks!!!

Congrats!!! You look wonderful!!!! My goal is 140 also, and we are similar heights, so it is inspirational to see how great goal looks!!!!! :)

We LOVE disney!! There are lots of fruit and veggie choices. Have a great time!!! This time of year is the lower crowd season, so it's a great time to go! Not sute how old your kids are but, I agree that on the longer lines, the fast pass is the way to go. There is no cost, it's part of your park ticket, somewhere near the…
