  • I started paleo in July 2013... exercise has been mostly walking but on and off (mostly off). I went from 188 to 166 between the two pictures below. I lost 22 lb. Still have a ways to go, but I'm very happy with this!
  • Meals planned and shopping is (almost) done over here too! I made a big slow cooker meal with ground beef, parsnips, and carrots (in chicken broth & apple cidar vinegar spiced with squeezed orange juice, thyme, bay leaf)....LOL it was a pot roast recipe but I my beef roast was still too frozen to make it, and I had all of…

  • I am doing a Whole 30 in February. This time I am doing an Autoimmune Protocol Whole30 due to my SLE (lupus). Anyone interested in following each others whole 30s can friend me! :)
  • I have never been able to finish this challenge, but I am hoping for Feb. to be different! The rules of this challenge are simple... that simple/strict way is the best way for me to get motivated to do something. I have been doing strict elimination diet the last few months due to having autoimmune disease (SLE/lupus).…
  • I did nothing this week! I'm going to have to prioritize exercise in FEB! See you there!
  • SW: 174 (last week of December) GW: 154 (for this challenge) W3: 171 (Jan 2nd) W4: 168 (Jan 9th) W5: 166.8 (Jan16th) W6: 164 (Jan 23rd) W7: 167 (Jan 30th) I don't know what happened.... Okay..yeah, I've been overeating and not exercising much. Time to get my butt back in gear- it's the halfway point- no giving up now!
  • I am also starting the AIP protocol. I'm going to start Feb 1st. I did a Paleo30 in January- not quite a Whole30 because I allowed natural sugars like maple syrup and raw honey. I plan to do a compliant Whole 30 in Feb. that is also AIP compliant. Let's check back and support each other! Do you have any of these books? Do…

  • I also have Walk it off in 30 days. I recently bought that one and the Belly Blasting Walk. You are right- walk it off in 30 is slightly higher-impact than her older walks. I am used to the walks in the Walk Away the Pounds Ultimate Collection. If anyone is trying to pick between these two... In my opinion, walk it off in…

Hoping to lose at least a full…
  • I tell myself when I'm throwing away something like a donut or piece of cake/frosting that I am NOT being wasteful throwing away nutritionally deficient food that is actually full of "fake" ingredients and will only make my body suffer. The only waste is the persons money that could have bought something better with…
  • I've had a similar situation where I had to take dessert...I brought it back to my office, dumped it in my trashcan, and then poured something disgusting on top so I wouldn't pick it out of the clean trash bag and eat it anyway. LOL pathetic.
  • Good idea with the low cal mixers! My week is going pretty great exercise & calorie-wise. I had a goal of exercising 5-6 times a week...and that really hasn't happened (I think 3-4 is more accurate)... but I'm still seeing results and I'm REALLY happy! My stomach looked completely flat in the mirror this morning. It was…
  • I've never seen those movies but I think people can make their own decisions. Yes, their decision will probably be to "mainstream" because corporations are making certain lifestyles simpler and effortless.... But I'm thinking that the paleo/primal movement is growing, and I have faith that in coming generations more people…

WAHOO!!!! I'm amazed that I'm finally getting over my plateau!!!
  • There are tons of recipes out there for bone broth on paleo recipe websites, but I've never made it (I've only been paleo since July '13). I have made vegetable broth once and froze a lot in ziplock bags... but I usually just buy chicken broth from the store. Here is a link for good advice to make bone broth (I consider…
  • I try to stay away from almond flour, coconut flour, and all other paleo compliant ways to continue on with an old lifestyle of baked goods. I think nut flours are really high in Omega 6s (but Omega 3's are the good ones that you want to focus on, and I've heard it's bad to go crazy on Omega 6s because it messes with the…

  • I'm new at this too... getting the hang of this group thing still, but I'm hoping I will continue to sign in and post often! :)
  • It could be a number of things. If you are sensitive to something that you are eating a lot more of now than you were before, that might explain the rash. I would discuss with your doctor. I've also read posts about rashes during a "detox" and rashes during rapid fat loss. I'm not really sure how common those are, and if…
