Hi Ive just been diagnosed with premature menopause and have struggled with my weight for the past 6 months. I gained 30lb in September and October and hadnt realised it was due to the menopause, so I went from a size 10 (UK) to a size 18 within 2 months. My first month here I stayed the same for 5 weeks and then gained…

Great information, Im following your facebook page now...shame some people are so negative. Alot of what you have said is common sense. I was bought up as a vegatarian and my Mum studied nutrition and drilled it into me from an early age, the breakfast thing was one of her mantras, as was the info you have given about…

I guess I was a nerdy kid as I was very quiet and we were poor and I kept myself to myself, My Mum made my clothes and I kind of stuck out as I wasnt super cool, I wasnt super brainy, but did hang out in the library during lunchtimes. Sort of kept myself to myself as I was so shy...But...in college I was a hippy chick sort…

I dont eat my exercise calories. I have a very slow metabolism and for my first 4 weeks on here I stayed the same, I then put on weight!!! The calorie allowance set doesnt take into account peoples metabolisms which may be faster if you are younger and fitter, and much much slower if, like me, you have a slower metabolism…

I fed all 3 of mine (proud to say none of them ever had a bottle!) ...and I was always always hungry! At the time I was following a weightwatchers diet, (with extra points to allow for the extra calories)...I just remember having that ravenous empty feeling day after day and for that reason my weight loss during…

Thanks all for making me feel so welcome. My 44th birthday is today and Im starting to come to terms with my menopausal diagnosis last week. Still in floods of tears all the time (I dont know why, and it always seems to be in the middle of the night when I feel like that!). I still know nobody who has gone through the…

Well done, thats amazing! I spent my first month on here not losing a thing and its so frustrating when your weight loss is slower than everybody else's. What worked for me was exercise too! I bought an exercise DVD which I do 5 days a week and that triggered off my weight loss. Thank you for sharing, its stories like this…

Wow thats awesome! Im on my last couple of days of shred and have lost 7lb!! To me this is a huge achievement as my weight is slow to come off, despite walking for a couple of miles every day too! Im starting Ripped at the end of the week (or maybe even next week). I never once felt sore with shred, although Im finding…

Wow what an achievement, well done you!!! I started 27th December and have lost 7lb! This is fab news for me as I originally started in November and stayed the same for 5 weeks, my metabolism is slow due to menopause (unfortunately) but every little pound or half a pound lost is a step in the right direction!!!

Thank you BackwoodsMom, lovely to meet you and to find this group! Im still battling with the news that Im menopausal... as well as trying to lose weight and coping with sleepless nights!! Last full nights sleep was months ago! I didnt mind it so much when I thought the night sweats were a virus as I thought the virus will…

I found out 2 days ago. I had been having night sweats, I had a blood test and thought it was glandular fever as my partner has just had it, and I was stunned and shocked when my doc told me I was menopausal. He was suprised I had been having regular periods all this time! I started getting hives in September, my doc told…

Hi Im Helen and Im 43, 2 days ago I was diagnosed with premature menopause, in fact my doctor thinks Im post menopause which has come as a shock! I put on 30lbs very suddenly (between sept and oct last year) and after several years of night sweats my doctor finally did a blood test. My weight is sooo slow to come off and I…

I did exactly what you did today, between lunch and dinner time, I confess to getting the childrens' peanut butter out and having several spoonfuls of it!!! Ok, so it was that natural, organic stuff with no added salt or other ingredients, but its still full of fat, and I didnt stop at 1 spoonful! Sometimes your body just…

I have three children, my daughter who is 10 and my two boys who are 13 and 7, they run rings round me, but love them all to bits :)

Hi I think youre doing an amazing job, youve lost a fair amount already, plus you have a young child and are breastfeeding, dieting and exercising. I have 3 children, I fed them all and when I had my youngest son it was a struggle to get dressed before midday, so give yourself a pat on the back! From my point of view...I…

People say it will take as much time to lose it as it did to gain it...well it took me 2 months to go from 124lb to 160lb...so I was imagining losing it all within 2 months but I think it will take me a bit longer than that! My before pics were also a shock to me! My top half is much slimmer and in shape (sort of) and my…

Im 43 with 3 children aged 7, 10 and 13. I have 30lb or so to lose and have battled huge addictions to certain foods and emotional eating. I have to be very regimented about things, making sure I dont buy foods for the children that are too tempting for me. I workout when they are all at school with an exercise DVD and we…

Interesting post. Im a size 16 on the lower half but a 10-12 on the top half, collar bones showing, very narrow shoulders. Last summer I was a size 10 bottom half and 6-8 up top and my bust disappeared, I was wearing 32A and I was 8st 12, at 5ft 5, on anybody else that body frame would look fine, on me it looked like I…
