I have been well under every single day, UNTIL YESTERDAY! I gave in to temptation and ate a 16oz steak for dinner with tons of A1....then later went to Hardee's for a 3pc chicken strips with TONS of buffalo sauce, and also had a medium frosty at Wendy's. I ended up going over by about 700 calories. I'll be on the treadmill…

Danni, 9....very beautiful :)

My tattoos are a little odd :P Neck....one side Decepticon logo, one side Autobot logo. Chest...a spiral heart (looks kind of like a rose)...it's a Marilyn Manson logo. Inner elbows....stars of David. L wrist...Starbucks logo. R wrist....A heart with a ribbon across it saying "Valerie Ryann" (It WAS Valerie on one and Ryan…

Beautiful! Congratulations.

I think it's definitely true. Even before marriage....I've noticed that every time I get a boyfriend that I gain weight. I once gained 90lbs in a 2yr long bad relationship. That was mostly due to depression. But with other boyfriends I think I just get so interested in talking to/being with them, that I put eating right…

I listen to Transformers dubstep....and I have a couple Transformers tattoos. I also watch original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episodes in my spare time on Netflix :P

Yeah meal planning would be a better idea. I am asking for today and in the future. (for when the calories creep up faster than expected).

Try drinking a glass of water with metamucil powder. It keeps me 100% regular....I go once a day between 9:30 and 10 am. Like clockwork, lol.

I need to lose 98lbs. I'm 248 now...my goals are first 200, then 170, and eventually 150. :)

Almost every day. I'm basically addicted to diet pepsi. I keep attempting to quit it for good but I live with my parents and my step-dad keeps it stocked, so it's ALWAYS in the kitchen. I've been considering giving it another go. It's expensive, I have kidney problems and the carbonation definitely doesn't help, the…

Donuts. I freaking LOVE donuts! The chocolate frosted chocolate cake ones, to be exact. I know I can't eat many, but darnit I'm going to have a donut or two once in a while or I'll go insane. Lol.

Hmmm I eat about half of these regularly. I'll definitely try to incorporate a few of these. Although I wonder about the milk. I assume since they only talk about calcium and D in it that soy/almond/rice milk that is fortified is just as healthy? And I wonder if almond milk would count as milk and nuts? Lol. It's also good…

You look great! I look forward to having a similar before/after some day, thanks for your inspiration!

Calories, first and foremost, since my main health issue is my weight. Secondly, I try to eat high protein, high fiber, and I watch my carbs but I don't try to eat "low carb". Carbs are so important for the body to function properly, and I would honestly be miserable without my breads and pastas.
-
Carbs and protein...try drinking a protein shake about half an hour before you start working out. The same was happening to me a couple years back.

I've used soy, almond, rice, and coconut milk in different recipes for years. Other than a light difference in taste, they don't seem to work differently in cooking. I personally recommend unsweetened rice milk....it's a little thinner than soy or almond milk, and doesn't have much of a flavor to it, so to me it tastes…

Good read. I always suspected that the "starvation mode" bit was less of a threat than it's been made to seem. I've always thought of it this way...let's say a 300lb woman starts hardcore dieting and exercising and loses an average of 10lbs a week for a few months---I would seriously doubt that her body would have all of…

Although I've gained some back, I went from being 285lbs to 202lbs. At 285, I definitely was discouraged. I wanted to weight 160, so in my mind I was saying "I have almost 130lbs to lose!". It seemed so unattainable. But don't let slow and steady progress get you frustrated. Progress is progress! If you let the stress of…

If you don't do it, it's hard to start. My b/f for example, cracks his knuckles, but nothing else. And I'm always begging to pop his back. At first it might pop once, if that, and he was worried I'd break him, lol. But now at least a few pop and he kinda likes it. More than he cares to admit, I think. :P
-
That might actually be a good idea. It is definitely an obsession. I've even migrated to obsessing over popping others' joints when mine have all popped recently and I can't get any of them to give a good loud SNAP. My boyfriend and his poor back are paying for all of this, lol. I do know that popping my tailbone like I do…

Our weight loss journeys sound very similar :) Sorry to hear that you don't have much support at home. That must be discouraging. But don't let it get you down! Great job on losing 60lbs so far! :)

I suppose there's always certain things that "pop" in our minds, in terms of life advice given to us by our parents. My dad's taught me a lot of things...some make pretty good sense and some are just ridiculous...but the one thing that I really took with me and value to this day is... "You can never have too much fiber".…

I forget where I heard this, but it was a reliable source or else I wouldn't have taken it to heart (gotta trust me on this, lol)....but I heard that it takes 6 weeks for the body to adjust to new eating/sleeping/exercising habits. After 6 consecutive weeks your body has "reprogrammed" itself to think and act differently.…

Well there ya go....go to a clothing store (If you're still in "plus" sizes, fashion bug is a great store. I like them a lot more than lane bryant because the clothes are just as classy and well-made but about 1/2 the price) and have an associate help you find something to compliment your figure. Or maybe even take a…
-
Are you wearing clothes that compliment your current figure? A lot of heavier people try to wear baggier clothes to hide their figure, and when they lose weight they don't dress differently to reflect it. If you're wearing clothes that don't fit properly, that could play a part in why. Keep up the good work, and don't let…

Welcome :) I've been on the site a week and have similar goals (239 now, want to get to 170)

Congratulations! You can definitely do it, you've proven that by losing the first 100lbs :)
