Although I agree with you that everyone at some point will need healthcare... everyone does not need health insurance. This law forces people to buy health insurance. It does not force people to buy healthcare. There is a difference. I have paid for healthcare in the past without having health insurance.

There are a lot of good things in this law. How pre-existing conditions are dealt with and that you cannot be dropped if you get sick are a couple of items that make sense. At least they are finally calling the mandate what it is. A tax. Let's see how Obama tap dances around the tax increase on the lower and middle class he said was not going to happen.

I am sure it is just election year bull$h1t. That said, I was surprised Obama used executive privilege considering he has never used it before. The right will say if there is nothing incriminating then just release the documents and be done with it. My guess is that it is a national security issue.

We finally agree. Everyone should be more responsible with the money they do get. This might open up health insurance to some people that currently do not have it :).

This is where we disagree. You think people NEED health insurance and they do not. I didn't have health insurance until I was 27. How did I get through my day without that basic NEED :). I have it now because I have the means and want to offer additional security for my family.

Auto insurance mandates are not federal. They are handled on the state level. In addition, if you do not have a car you do not have to have auto insurance. I think everyone should have health insurance. I don't think the federal government should be involved in it.
