It's been 10 years since my last trip to Germany, so please take my advice with a grain of salt  Berlin has a thriving counterculture, and vegetarian and simple, natural foods are easy to find. I can't comment on Hamburg (never been there) but your best bet is probably to look for a health food store (look for signs…

Gettin' there. Exams are over thank heavens. Now I'm enjoying red wine out of my last remaining clean glass. I'll do the dishes tomorrow :blushing:

My first salaried job was a summer job as a "Junior Forest Ranger" - we planted trees and cleared/constructed/maintained woodland trails. I still remember slathering on alternating layers of sunblock and bug spray throughout the day until I was coated an inch thick

I looked at my reports and the highest daily count in the last 90 days was 3,371  And that doesn't even include those days when I was so stressed out that didn't have the time to log (and would be too ashamed to do so anyways) :embarassed:

Anything, except for straight hard liquor. My favourite drink is hard apple or pear cider - YUM!

My family lives on the other side of the country, so I'm not planning on making any special meals or goodies. Although out of nostalgia I did splurge on 3 sugar-free peeps today :blushing: The biggest hazard, I fear, will be bypassing tons of leftover treats the next day at work...

Agree with this^

Eggplant in any form - YECH! :grumble:

Some of my favourites are lime gelato, forever nuts, copabanana, honeybee and banana dream pie. Do you buy online or from a store? I've found that the store employees give great recommendations if you tell them what you already like.

Haha yeah, I've gotten some of those as a gag gift. I gotta hand it to Jelly Belly, the flavours are pretty realistic. Too bad they're realistic recreations of absolutely disgusting things :noway: The rotten egg one is truly horrific

Yes, they sometimes turn brown. If the blister is unbroken then it's nothing to worry about. It just means that there is a mixture of blood and serous fluid inside. If you're going to be very active, you can still give your blister a chance to heal. Your best bet is to cushion the blister (cut out a piece of Second Skin or…

If it's an activity I genuinely enjoy, then motivation comes naturally. We all enjoy some workout activities more than others. For example I love ice-skating but hate step classes. I dislike aerobics but find them more bearable if the music is familiar and energetic. If, for some reason, you're doing an exercise you truly…

I like sandwiches with Silver Hills "Squirrelly" Sprouted Grain bread. Two slices have 12 grams of protein and 10 grams of fibre. You can fill the middle with your choice of hummus, cheese or sliced veggies.

After reading this thread, I visited Walden Farms' website out of morbid curiosity. I didn't see one single ingredient that could conceivably have come from a "woods" or a "farm" ! It's hilarious that they use such a folksy, rustic name when all their ingredient lists sound like top-secret chemistry projects.

Hmm, what kind of herbal teas have you tried? If you miss the creamy taste, David's Tea makes a mint chocolate roobios tea, and Celestial Seasonings makes Bengal Spice tea, which is delicious with a little milk or cream. Besides caffeine-free teas, I'm not sure what else to suggest. Could you make hot chocolate with skim…

This is what I do as well! I love it with some milk and a drizzle of real maple syrup - YUMM!

I hate it when people hold the door open for me. Even if my hands are full, I'd much rather open my own door. If I'm near a door at the same time as someone else, I'll pretend to be going the other direction or fake a cell phone call just to avoid the irritation of it.

Interesting quiz, thanks for sharing! I'm: 11 Quality Time 7 Physical Touch 6 Words of Affirmation 6 Acts of Service 0 Receiving Gifts My results for Number 1 and 2 were unexpected. But the part about gifts being meaningless to me was very accurate. Frankly, gifts often make me feel guilty about the wasted resources and…

 :grumble: :noway: Those sickening "flat stomach" and "belly fat" and "X foods you should NEVER eat" ads that leer at me from all over the internet  :explode:

Bite-size fresh fruits or veggies (apples, mandarins, sugar snap peas, carrot or celery sticks, red pepper strips) Cubes of cheese Whole grain crackers High-fibre cereal bar (I like All-bran) Single serve tuna in cans or pouches If I'm packing an "on the go" meal, I like something sweet at the end - usually a piece of…

Totally agree with you on the sheets. I HATE having my feet squashed down! I have to sleep with a pillow between my legs. If I'm travelling and don't have an extra, I'll use a rolled up jacket or blanket. I check several times a day to make sure I didn't leave the keys in the front door. I'll physically open the door,…

Depends on the clothing. I always wear clean socks and underwear, but I'll re-use the pants and t-shirt until I've got a full load of laundry to wash. I live in an apartment building and the washing machine is $1.75 a pop :grumble: I can't afford to wash half-loads.
