Somewhere between a tire and a year's worth of pizza! :)

Strawberries. I eat a punnet a day at the moment because they're coming into season. One minute the punnet is there, the next it's gone. Good thing there's only about 5 calories in each strawberry! :) :)

This is me with alcohol! Food, I've always just eaten proportions that were too big and wolfed them down (ever since I was born according to my mum), and now I'm learning to eat smaller portions slower so that I can actually savour the food instead of just swallowing. But alcohol is something I've started planning ....…

You make a great point, and it's one I've noticed a bit lately. When I started (85 days ago according to MFP) I lost a kilo (2.2 pounds) a week for 9 weeks, then plateaued. I wanted to reach that 10 kilo mark so bad, but I'd been guesstimating my quantities, esp at dinner. 1/2 cup of rice or pasta can quickly turn into 3/4…

I'm wondering if whatever food you ate that caused you to plateau also had an effect on your glands? The link 9thChakra posted lists some foods that can make us more stinky, but also possibly sudden lack of exercise or not enough water isn't cleaning them out as much as they're used to now? There's also the possibility…

Once a month I make up a batch of these muffins, freeze them and have one for breakfast every weekday. They come from the second CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet book, which has heaps of easy and healthy recipes: 1/2 cup canola oil 1/2 cup honey 1 cup grated carrot 2 bananas, mashed 2 apples, unpeeled and grated 3 eggs, lightly…

Are you trying to lose weight, or gain it?
-
^yep, exactly. :)

When I started with MFP over a year ago I had no idea either, so I used it for a little while and then gave up, which certainly didn't help my weight at all! I finally got fed up and went to see a doctor and his advice is as follows: Whatever you eat, eat 20% less than you usually would, no holidays and no exceptions (in…

Definitely, although I try really hard not to show it. My Mum has always been a health freak and I was with her in Costco one day when she told some poor woman that her Hershey's topping was 'poison' and I am determined never to do that to anyone! Mostly I find that my snobbery affects what I eat myself. There's a lot of…

Vitamins, medicines, incidental (unplanned) exercise, water (I've never had a problem with not drinking enough), herbs and spices, everyday chores, the stretches my physio wants me to do and sex (I had thought about logging it under 'jogging' but decided not to go there).

I don't want to be too scary or anything, but are you pregnant?
-
^yep. They do sundaes and ice cream on sticks too. :) :) Weightwatchers also have some yummy ice creams and Nestle have a great chocolate mousse that I've been into lately, only around 60 calories in each.
-
^yep. As long as you are consuming less calories than you're burning you will lose weight, guaranteed. To not lose weight under those circumstances would mean a contravention of the laws of physics. You've heard of e=mc2? That's what it means. I recommend setting your MFP account up to reflect a sedentary lifestyle and…

Sorry, typo.... not expending, consuming.

Hi Cemartel, It is impossible not to lose weight as long as you're burning more than you're expending, although some medical issues can make it harder to do so. Have you consulted with your doctor about your problems? If you're eating something that you're allergic to for instance, it might cause you to retain fluid. Also,…

Hi Bruma, I'll send you a friend request. I'm also finally getting really serious about my weight and health, although I've been a member here for over a year now. My new doctor recently told me the most encouraging thing I've ever heard in my weight battle: he gave me a small physics lecture based around e=mc2 and told me…

A dose of chemotherapy would drop those pounds/kilos right off! Seriously though, calorie deficit and some cardio and strength training. Nasty pills will only stuff up his endocrine system and make him fatter in the long run. Oh yeah, and possibly liver or kidney failure too. Don't let him do it.

You have a good point Gracielynne. I see some people logging a couple of hours of housework a day and I think "Holy #$%^!" Their house must be completely and utterly spotless all the time (our house isn't massive, but I'm pretty OCD and it doesn't take me that long every day to keep the place looking really good). But if…

That's actually a really good way of looking at it. When I think about it, all the things I log require different clothing (I usually wear workout clothes to work and change there, esp if I'm cycling. Not sure what I'll do once summer rolls around, I think I'll have to brave the showers.... eeee). Really heavy gardening…

That sounds pretty awesome. I'll look into getting one. What I'm doing at the moment seems to be working pretty well, but having a more accurate expenditure calculation would be great. :)

Ok, so I'm a bit new at this, but..... what's a fitbit and is it helpful? Seems like it could be. :)

I know, I know, 'weedling' is also not a real word. In this instance I felt it was appropriate. :P

People who don't wave when you let them merge in front of you in traffic. Spelling and grammar mistakes in advertising and on the news. Mispronunciation of common (in English) Spanish words - jalapeno, tortilla, etc. The use of 'impact' as a transient verb - "changes to the market will impact the economy" is NOT a real…

How big are the glasses of water you're drinking? You can actually kill yourself by drinking too much - you can dissolve all the salts in your body. You could be flushing away all your nutrients (literally). I'm not sure that scuzzling water is such a great way of suppressing hunger given how much of it you're drinking.…

Hi Shriderp, My doctor has advised me to try to eat 20% less than what I would otherwise eat, no holidays and no exceptions. So far just paying attention to that rule has kept me at the correct calorie intake that MFP recommends, so I'd say he's certainly onto something. I also know from past experience that eating way…

Hi! I'm in pretty much the same position as you and don't have any friends on here either. Have just sent you a request. :)

Keflexx is right, you can't really choose, but I'd think that some activities like Ballet (lots of plies) would tone your lower regions fairly well. Maybe try some of the more dancey types of workouts. Pole dancing is also apparently really awesome for whole body toning (I did it once at a party and couldn't stand up for a…
