I used pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted, and gained 60 pounds! Most of it in the last couple months (quick weight gain, blood pressure problems and swelling - I was being monitored for preeclampsia, took me off work which just caused me to sit at home and eat more). Now the weight is almost off, but it's…

I'd usually go with fajitas. I skip the sour cream, and the cheese, and only use two wraps. Then if I am still hungry I eat some of the chicken and peppers on their own. That's what works for me.

Hi! My name is Jennifer, and I'm MOH at my best friends wedding on June 23rd 2012! (I also turn 30 the next day. Yikes! Lol) We already ordered the dresses, mine was ordered in a 14. (I could have gotten a 10 if it wasn't for these darn hips!) I've lost 15 pounds since then, and I hope to lose 15 more. The will only alter…

My husband doesn't always enjoy my new healthy lifestyle either, but he is doing his best to support me. I make adjustments to his meal to suit him, extra pasta, bread, or rice, extra portion of meat, etc. I give him the same veggies though, and he eats them even though he doesnt't want to. Lol. Our favorite ice cream was…

Awesome. I've been trying to get to the gym too. Good for you getting your workouts in.

The first time I lost weight it was hitting 199 on the scale. I didn't want to hit the 200's. I kept it off until having a baby. This time what got me going was when my 'baby weight' was still not off after my daughter turned 1. She's 13 months now and I have lost 15 pounds.

We might be the only people left. Lol.

You're doing great!

I dip everything! Condiments are yummy. I try to pick low sodium, healthier ones, but I love every type of BBQ sauce, ketchup, salsa, all types of mayo, hot sauce, sweet and sour, honey garlic, plum sauce, etc. One thing I have never put on my food is salt from a salt shaker. WIth all the dressing and condiments I've never…

Check out the websites of your favourite fast food places, they should have nutrition information on each of their items.

The 17 Day diet is an interesting book. It's made up of several 17 day phases, which you continue to cycle through until you reach your goal weight/maintenance stage. The first 17 days is very restrictive (lots of proteins, fresh veggies, no carbs), but each phase allows you to add back foods. You learn about portion…

I think everyone understands that things come up. This website is only a small part of everyone's life, no one should begrudge someone for having to step away.

I weigh myself everyday. In the morning right after I wake up and use the washroom. It works for me, even though the weigh can fluctuate everyday, I find it gives me a good idea of how I am doing. Plus, when I only weigh myself once a week I end up taking two or three cheat days, saying I will make up for it at the end of…

Hi all :) I'm a sahm/wahm from Ontario. I have a beautiful 13 month old daughter. I gained 60 pounds while I was pregnant, and still have 11.5 pounds to lose. That will bring me back to my pre-pregnancy weight, then I'd like to lose an additional 10 pounds. This website has helped a lot. I've never tracked my food before,…

I find the best thing to do is try on a lot of different styles and sizes. Everyone's body is so different, what works for one won't for another. Find a store that sells many different styles and get to it. Lol. A good belt helps too.

I couldn't find it either. Hopefully we can still keep a small group together and work towards our valentine goal.

Exactly. There is a line between enjoying yourself, and over indulging. When there are multiple desserts, I usually pick my absolute favourite and only have that. Or, if it's too hard to pick, cut very small pieces of each to sample. (Just a few bites each).

I think I understand why people are worried. Thanksgiving is only one day....but then there is Christmas, New Years, Easter, birthdays, graduations, and a million other "special occasions" that involve food and drink. I don't think it hurts to enjoy yourself, and enjoy the food you like with your family, but people with…

I had two kinda weird signs before I took a test. I had a very runny nose for days, that wouldn't go away, and I also had a weird taste in my mouth and was brushing my teeth 5 times a day to try and get rid of it. lol. Of course I googled them, and pregnant came up, so I took a test. Also, sore boobs for sure. Not super…

Good for you! I bake a lot too, for the kids, and for my husband. I try to make healthy-ish type desserts when I can, so that I can have a small piece too.

Your heart is in the right place, but as you can see by the responses here, it would just be taken the wrong way and people would get defensive. If someone as for advice, give it, if not best to just be supportive where you can, and be quiet when you can't. This is my advice for online communities anyways.

A year ago I had a newborn at home, so I wasn't thinking about weight loss too much. I couldn't work out much (c-section) so I was hoping the weight would come off on it's own. 40 pounds of it did, 20 pounds of it didn't. (I know, 60 pounds. yikes! I wont be doing that my next pregnancy. I used pregnancy as a license to…

I used slim-fast a few years ago to lose 10-15 pounds. I didn't mind the taste, and didn't have trouble sticking to it for about a month. I used it as a jump start, that combined with exercising every day helped me see results, and I kept the weight off. The important things is you have to learn how to eat after, so the…
