  • Well, look no further - you have found an AWESOME support group! Check out the forums and do a few searches on "binge eating" and "emotional eating" and see what turns up! You might find lots of useful tips! Best of luck on your journey!
  • Definitely make that switch if you can. I had a Mio and while it's better than nothing, it just isn't accurate enough... you have to press the sensors EVERY time you change intensity, which could be as often as every 30-60 seconds. And sometimes the sensors just don't give a readout...

  • True, why not try it? If it works, great. Keep in mind, it might take a few days to a couple weeks to feel results, depending on your body. It only took me 3 days to notice a difference, but things got better after being on the supps for about a week-10 days. I ran out about a month ago, though... and haven't bought…
  • you might want to try some glucosamine & chondroitin supplements, if you're feeling sort of stiff. I was on them for a while and they helped a lot... they aren't' cheap, though.
  • I get frequent sinus infections and they mess with your ears. If it gets worse, you'll probably want to see a doc... but you might wait it out and see... I know the feeling you're describing, too... and that drives me nuts! I try a lot of steam baths and hot liquids, because sometimes it brings clarity for a while... but…
  • Holy crap... I just realized this somehow ended up in the completely wrong thread! I am SO SORRY! Lol... how the heck did I get here?
  • FRAGGLE ROCK! Full House Alf Garfield and Friends (on Sunday mornings) Star Trek (the original) and Star Trek The Next Generation The Twilight Zone
  • I'm doing it... but I can't do it every day. I have pretty beat up knees from the military and my poor calves are really prone to charlie horses - the jumping jacks, jump rope, and butt kickers are something I can only do every other day... But I've been doing it now for about 2 weeks (still on level one) and I have…
  • Your BMR is NOT the same thing as maintenance calories! Your BMR is the absolute minimum you need on a daily basis to feed your vital organs while in a practically comatose state. Your actual maintenance calories will be 400-800 MORE than your BMR, depending on a number of factors. Go to your "Goals" page. Look at the…
  • coffee has so few calories, that the calorie count usually doesn't show up on the label. Your 12 oz cup probably packs less than 10 calories if you're drinking it black. As far as flavored coffees, the infusion of flavors, either natural or artificial, into the beans, does not add calories. But, adding flavored syrup or…
  • what do you mean "keeping my calories below my goal"? are you eating the number of calories it tells you to eat every day? or are you eating much less? water weight is excess water that is not needed immediately for bodily processes, but the things you eat and your hydration levels play a part in how much of that excess is…
  • When you are in a habit of eating salty and sweet foods, not counting your calories and not drinking lots of water, you pack in water weight. When you start a diet, you suddenly watch what you eat, limiting salts and sugars, and hopefully drink more water than usual because you are aware of it's importance. That's when the…
  • Tag likes to lick bleach water off a newly scrubbed floor... and then he rolls in it in ecstasy.
  • oh yeah, Tag also has a thing for bleach water. If i just cleaned the floor with bleach water, he's there licking and rolling all over it.
  • My Tag must put his chin on a soft blanket in order to "knead" or he won't do it. Tag is the white/gray cat in my ticker
  • YAY!!! That's great news! And thanks for keeping us updated!
  • I started out like that... lost 10 in 11 days! It's a fantastic motivator... but really, it is water weight. So don't be disappointed or give up when it slows down.... your body will catch on as long as you stick to it... and the rest will start to come off at a steady pace. Best of luck in your journey!:flowerforyou:
  • Nice hot soak in the tub with some Epsom salt... lots of rest and water... and some Ibuprofen.
  • Well, I do enjoy a cup or sometimes two in the morning... but when I go for the Monster, it's because I didn't get enough sleep and I can't even function without a fast jolt. Some days, I have extra time to allow the coffee to brew and the slow sipping... and it's nice. But others, I just gotta have it in my bloodstream…
  • Thank you for clarifying... I was kind of suspecting that was the case. Now I'm feeling the crash... :ohwell:
  • Don't you hate that feeling of water just bouncing around? I also like to eat some carbs within about 30 minutes... but it's a small meal or snack. If you ate a whole meal, you'll be more comfortable if you wait 45 - 90 minutes. But if you wait too long, then you might get hungry mid-workout!
  • I'm a little unclear of what you're saying... I understand the oxygen consumption part. Does this mean that I likely didn't burn as much as my HRM suggests?
  • WOW... wasn't expecting that one! :noway:
  • You can still use those weights for your resistance training, though!
  • I don't normally drink my caffeine right before a workout... just so you know. But today I drank a full can of Low Carb Monster (I'm pretty caffeine tolerant, so this is not unusual for me) and then I went on my morning walks. I wore my HRM. For my 30 minute walk with one dog, I burned more calories with less effort than I…
  • I'm intrigued by the t-bone steak vanishing act... I kinda want to try that! But I pretty much hate Coke... so I got a laugh out of it. Thanks!
  • It is not a good idea to use wrist and ankle weights during cardio. All it does is add more stress on your joints and make your body heavier overall... which isn't that much more challenging, and therefore isn't likely to burn a ton more calories. Instead, your wrist and ankle weights should be incorporated into your…
  • I've pan "fried" chicken in just water before. It comes out pretty good, but you have to stay there and watch it. You only want a little bit of water so the chicken doesn't stick. I season beforehand and I season it heavily, because some of it will end up in the water. Do use a lid to keep the moisture in, but stir or flip…
  • I cannot stand to see a typo in a published book or anything that is printed for mass viewing. I fixate on it when I find one... drives me NUTS!!!
  • Been given 24 hours To tie up loose ends To make amends His eyes said it all I started to fall And the silence deafened Head spinning round No time to sit down Just wanted to Run and run and run Be careful they say Don't wish life away, Now I've one day And I can't believe How I've been wasting my time In 24 hours they'll…
