Probably just water weight that will disappear when you get back to a proper level of hydration. Although, Jillian Michaels said on her radio show last week that just 2 servings of alcohol can inhibit your body's ability to burn fat by 70%. So... if you're drinking wine regularly, that may be counterproductive to your…

I'll be 30 this August! Should that make me feel old? Because I don't.....

I don't follow the rules, either... I eat breakfast at the computer because it's the only time I get to "chat" with my fiance (he's deployed.) I might eat lunch at the computer, as well... if he's still up by then! And then dinner is usually in front of the TV. I'm home alone right now... so sitting at the big dining room…

Unfortunately, if you're trying to avoid artificial sweeteners, you're not left with a lot of options aside from tea and water. You can put a splash of 100% fruit juice, any flavor of your choice, in your cup of ice water for a refreshing taste with much fewer calories. You can also drink flavor infused waters that only…

It's not a stupid question. Whether or not your stomach will become taut and hard will depend on a number of factors, including your genetics, how long you've carried the extra weight, how fast you lose the extra weight - just as much or more than diet and exercise. Some people can get there, others cannot do it without a…

LOL... Every day? Almost, at least. I love chocolate and I usually have either a couple thin mints cookies or a truffle at the end of the day.

oohhh... just for fun, let's look at the ingredients in Diet Coke: * Carbonated water (the only apparently OK ingredient....) * Caramel color (a coloring agent that is made by heating carbohydrates until they turn brown and sticky) * Aspartame (a controversial artificial sweetener that might be linked to brain cancer) *…

The artificial sweeteners are pretty bad... they've been linked to cancer and learning disorders, and they confuse your metabolism into thinking there are no calories in sweet foods. The artificial sweeteners are not recognized by the brain as sugar, so they don't curb a sweet craving. There's also sodium in soda, which…

Hey, Retro, I love your av... I  the 80's too!

Does anyone here tune into Jillian Michaels' radio show on Sundays? You can find the last 2 months of episodes online at: http://www.kfi640.com/pages/podcasting/ I love listening to her show when I'm feeling sluggish or lazy... she's a great motivator!

I can say no :noway: to the Cadbury eggs, the Reeses PB eggs, jelly beans and chocolate bunnies..... BUT.... whip out the Robin's eggs, and that's where I can't say no! Mmmmmm.... malted goodness... I think it's the texture that gets me.

What are you using to calculate your calories burned? HRM or the machine? I have found the machines at the gym are pretty lousy at calculating calories burned when set to "interval" or "random" settings, compared with my HRM.

how many quality hours of sleep do you get each night?

What about bananas and oatmeal? They both pack lots of nutrients that your poor depleted body needs, and they are nice and soft. Also, take some vitamin C with your meals. I sure hope you get better soon :flowerforyou:

I know it doesn't mix well in hot coffee... :grumble:  Found that one out the hard way... it became like cottage cheese coffee with an oil slick over the top.

I think your calories need to average out over a period of a week or so. If I were in your shoes, I would eat extra because it was so low yesterday. That's just me. I go over on a regular basis and I'm still losing, so I know it would be okay for me. Some people say your calories only count for 24 hours... but I refuse to…

yeah, I'll take him! David Boreanaz (sp?)

I really do love Fage... but gosh, it's so incredibly expensive. It reminds me of the yogurt I used to eat in Germany... super thick and creamy, so flavorful, so delicious... I can only buy Fage once in a while... and it only lasts 1-2 days!

I think a lot of us have started and stopped dozens of times... I know I have. I'll join you in saying "this time it's for real!" :drinker: This is a permanent lifestyle change, not a diet... and it's gonna be fabulous! You deserve the best!

I guess I'm not the only one with a kitty in the fridge.... You guys have such neat looking refrigerators compared to mine! Sheesh.. I think I would be a little mortified to post pics of my fridge...

You can disagree if you want to... but what you like to do and what's generally recommended aren't exactly the same. I know from experience that I don't perform as well on a completely empty stomach as I do with some food... Plus, when my workout is done, my blood sugar is so low that I can't stop myself from shaking...…

Only cardio is going to help you lose that extra fluff in your belly. You can't spot reduce fat. Do lots of cardio and eventually you will lose it there, too.

It depends on you and your own body... some people love working out in the mornings, and others can only do it in the evenings. It truly doesn't make a difference when you do it, as long as you do it. That said, if you're going to work out in the morning, you should eat a small meal or a snack first. It is unwise to work…

Stoppit... you're making me hungry! That sounds pretty delicious... But I would add the salsa... it's pretty low in cals and has such awesomely delightful flavor! :flowerforyou:

looks like it's supposed to be 70 fat calories, not grams. There are 9 calories in every gram of fat.

Tell yourself "I can do this" and "I WILL do this!" It will happen! You are in a great place. Best of luck.
-
Welcome! You're in the right place! Congrats on the 10 down! You can lose the rest... just be patient, be honest with yourself and don't try to make too many changes all at once!
-
Welcome! You can do this! And MFP is a wonderful place to start and to find a support system! Best advice is to be completely honest with yourself... because if you cheat, you're only cheating yourself out of success! Browse the forums for a while and meet some wonderful "losers!" Best of luck!
