Hmmmm, insulin spike huh? That may be a problem.....I may see if I can get samples somehow and try it to see what it does. I certainly don't want to cause an insulin spike when I'm already hypoglycemic.... Everyone has given great ideas.....I'll just have to try some and see how it goes. Thanks everyone!

I actually wear a 30G or 30GG and I get mine from overseas in the UK from a place called Bravissimo. They have them in sizes up to K, I think, and there's no need to double up. Here's a link to the one that I like a lot.....http://tinyurl.com/25tsmzm I have it in the white and want to get it in the black. I LOVE it and…

I haven't completed it yet (I've had some health issues that have prevented me). I did get a good two week start originally and while (like you) the fit test really did me in, I was able to do the workouts from start to finish. Did I go as fast as everyone else? NO. Was I able to do the full minute of each move? NO. BUT I…

I have Mastercook 9 and LOVE it. I don't have any knowledge of the version 11 but mine is very user friendly. I have added a lot of recipes that I find on the internet or in the emails that I get from Pillsbury, Kraft, Betty Crocker, etc. What I like about Mastercook is that it will calculate the nutritional info per…

I love my Polar F6 (I googled it recently and it runs about $89-$109). The F6 doesn't download to the Polar site like the a previous poster said about the F11 BUT it does still enter all of your info (weight, age, height, gender),has a chest strap, AND it's encrypted so that other people's HRMs and the fitness equipment…

I'll have to look at this later......thanks for posting.

I think anything that is autoimmune/inflammatory can wear you out. I have Dermatomyositis an am exhausted most of the time. I'm having to do a second round of steroids because my muscle pain came back so it's been hard. Once my muscles feel better here in the next week or so, I'm going to hit my workouts as hard as my body…

I would maybe call your doctor's office and talk to them. Sometimes they can tell you over the phone to either watch it or supplements BUT it might be a good thing just to go in and have it checked out. Sounds like you might have some cartilage problems (but I'm NO doctor). You've got the right mindset, just make sure you…

I really don't think it's the batteries. When the batteries in the watch of my F6, the screen would flicker off then back on again. I don't remember the calories resetting when it did. I would definitely contact Polar and see what they say. Have you noticed it off before, even a little, or is this an all of a sudden thing?

I personally would put it under strength. To me Pilates, while it DOES raise your heart rate some, it doesn't seem to be enough to consider it cardiovascular.

From what I understand, the soreness is from the lactic acid that comes from the breakdown/build-up of muscle. So when you ran, you broke down your muscles causing a build up of the lactic acid. Again, from what I understand, the best way to filter out/get rid of the extra lactic acid is to keep moving. So my suggestion is…

I LOVE my F6. It allows you to enter weight, height, age and gender......all of which affects your calories burned. It also is encrypted so that when you're running on your treadmill, it won't get interference from the treadmill and give erroneous readings. I've had mine for several years and am just now having to replace…

I agree with others.....go with Polar. I have the F6 (googled recently and found it for about $89-$109). I've had it for several years, am just now replacing the batteries in the watch part. It's encrypted so you don't get interference from workout equipment or other people's HRMs (thus giving more accurate readings) and…

I have the Polar F6 and love it. I've had it for several years and I am just now having to send the watch off for a battery replacement. I DID google the price recently and while the prices I saw hovered around $89-$109, I agree completely with verticalchaos when she said wait until you can afford a good one. This is…

I LOVE my F6. The F6 (I believe) is the "lowest" one (i.e F6, F7,and so on) that has the encryption on the signal from the strap to the watch. This helps if you use it around other people with HRMs, on a treadmill, or in a gym class so that you don't get interference which causes an erroneous readings. I have had mine for…

I just did a quick google for my HRM (Polar F6) and while it was hovering around $89 - $109, I think it is a very worthy investment if you can save up and swing it. Once I had it, it took well over a year (if not a couple of years) for the battery in the watch part to die and it only costs something like $12.95 plus…

I've used the Calisthenics option before for my Insanity workouts.....not sure how that compared to HRM as mine needs a new battery. I have a Polar F6 HRM and like it a lot. Whatever HRM you get, I would suggest making sure it's encrypted to make sure the signal doesn't get interference from other equipment/other…

Are you hitting the "complete this day" (or whatever it says) button at the bottom of the page? The diary will keep your food logged in there automatically but I think if you don't click that button, even if you have food listed, it sees it as you haven't logged in.

I think there's several threads already.....but you can always post about yours. I started it back in December, got sick/busy and got out of the habit. Then when I tried to start back up I couldn't because of other health issues, but now that all of that is getting better, I'm trying to get back into it. I LOVE…

I have a HRM but need to replace the battery in the watch, but I used the calisthenics option as well the last time I did it (and will probably keep that option until I get the watch part back). As for getting the HRM, I suggest the Polar F6 or higher. I have the F6 and like it a lot. Starting with the F6 and later models,…

Not quite sure why I like it because it's not really the correct way to speak (sorry to the English teacher).....but at the beginning/opening of ALL of the Insanity videos when Shaun yells "Lets sgo" (he slurs the s with the next word) makes me want to "dig deeper". That would drive my mom crazy but for some reason gets me…

Thanks for the replies everyone.....the circuit training sound like a good idea and so does the Calesthenics (did I spell that right???). I haven't been able to do it in a while and am just getting back into it. I was diagnosed with dermatomyositis and it's improved enough that I can breathe during the workouts! I was able…

Your recipe sounds delish.......I may have to try it! Thanks for posting.

gtrigg, It's not that I'm worried I'm turning diabetic BUT when my mom was reading up back in the day when my sister was diagnosed diabetic, hypoglycemics were at a greater risk of developing Type 2 later in life. This is due to the pancreas overworking itself and giving out. I would like to have a meter to better see what…

65?! That's about 10 less than the minimum number in the normal range (75-100). If I were you I would definitely talk to my doctor and have them check that out.
