I never stop grilling, but the warmer weather was welcomed this weekend. Barbecue every night!

Well, it turned out it was not normal. I have epicondilitis (tennis elbow) in both elbows, and I also have inflammation in my meniskus that would have to be checked in MRI if it get worse. No lifting for two weeks as per doctor orders, but I can do low impact cardio stuff. I'm thinking about using the time I'm usually in…

Well, the renegade rows are done in plank position and he have to support himself on one hand when he is lifting a dumbell. I am assuming that this position engage all the core muscles we normally use in plank or push up (thighs, abs, back, etc.). If he switch to bent over rows with dumbell, he will lose a lot of abs/back…

Thanks for those messages. My real question was not what can cause all that pain, but rather is it normal to feel that pain and is it a normal reaction to the stress caused by heavy lifting. Your answers seem to tend toward the "not normal", so I should go to the doctor. Let's say as soon as possible. But I'm afraid that a…

In one of his circuit, my husband is doing renegade rows with dumbells. He can do them, but he complains about the fact that it puts a lot of pressure on his palm, and he have grip trouble because of that. He tried to do them with kettlebells, but it was worse, and he tried with padded lifting gloves, and he didn't help…

OMG, I would love to bike in Hawaii. I'm planning a biking trip to Cuba next year, but Hawaii would be equally nice. I hope you had fabulous holidays.

Workout B for me this morning. I am a little bit sad because I suspected a stress fracture in my tibia for a while (I had a really localized sharp pain when I was trying to get up after being seated below parallel - like on my crappy couch or on the toilet), and I started to experience the same pain while squatting. It…

Hey Deena! :D Great to see you here!

Totally posted in the wrong thread this morning. Here's what I wrote:

Simple goals for this month. I have to focus on weight loss instead of strenght gain for a couple of weeks, so I will do that. 1) Lift 3x a week and add AT LEAST two cardio workouts (45-60 min., in order to burn 350 cals each time). 2) Lose 6 pounds (I would shoot for 8, but it is ambitious, so let's say 6). 3) Squat: 130…

Mixed feelings on the goals. I reached all my lifting goals, but I did not lose 6 pound at all (lost 3, actually, which is not that much...). I'll try to do better in March because I have only two months before my first complete year of logging and I would want to be at least 10 pounds lighter. I will have to work hard on…

Again, solid workout have been logged here. Congrats gals! I was AWOL this weekend, pretty much healing my ego because of the bad week I had, food and exercise wise. At some point, I was too shameful to talk about it here on MFP, and then I realized that I was just relying on one of my usual self-defense mecanism that I…

Solid post! Everything makes me hungry, especially this!!

I usually start at a new weight with sumo DL, and then transition onto normal DL. It's a good way for me to approach a new load without failing, which is nice for confidence.

Despite the genereal not-feeling-it feeling, some kickass workoutds have been logged during the last few days. Congrats girls! I was in the same not-feeling-it mood the last few days and I almost skipped gym and workout AGAIN this morning because of an another crappy night of sleep. I tried to go back to sleep after a…

This grilled octopus (with hummus, I gues??) looks sooooo good!!

Congrats SilverStormi! What a positive change :)

Finally, that unexpected day off paid off, I increased my loads on all three lifts from Workout A. But on the other side, inspired by @crabada and @korkador, I tried to do good mornings, and... yish... I was not able to bend. At all. It was ridiculous and slightly uncomfortable how I was not able to complete the move. That…

Hm. That's a good advice. I will probably hang on on the oly bar then.

Ok, so here is my follow up: 1) Still doing Stronglifts. I skipped on workout this morning, but I will balance things out. 2) January 11th: -1.6 January 18th: -0.6 January 25: -1.6 February 1st: -1.2 February 8th: - 1.8 February 15th: -1.2 Total: -8 (totally on par with my Valentine's day goal, yay!) February 22nd: -0…

Reaching the 230s was awesome for me, I'm sure you'll get there in no time!

I usually use the safety pins in the power cage to hold the bar at about the same height as if it was loaded with 45 pounds. It helped my form a lot to do this with the row, because I feel it when I go down enough. For the OHP, I started with a 30 pounds preloaded bar, and it was perfect. I even think about switching back…

I forgot to check in this weekend. I did an awesome cardio workout on saturday (I had fun and I burned almost 350 cals without even thinking, yay!). Yesterday was another cardio day, but I had to shovel snow (people who think shoveling snow is not a proper workout are clearly not Quebecers ;) ) so I completed with an…

One of my favorite brunch staple, turkish çilbìr, which consist of salted yogurt with garlic, herbs and lemon, poached eggs, aleppo pepper infused butter and a little bit of pesto. With a cappuccino. ;)

OMG. I'm so jealous of you, Southerners who can have amazing food like this all the time! ;)
-
Yay, spreadsheet! I love them.

I don't always fry fish for my husband, but when I do, it's amazing! Baja fish tacos with beer-battered deep fried cod, avocado-cilantro crema, pickled watermelon rinds salsa, green jalapeno hot sauce and some feta. Yum!

@crabada I hope you'll feel better this morning, and just a little bit hungover. ;) Heartbreak are no fun, I feel you. xx @dawnembers I had someone in the gym calling me "chérie" wednesday. Not that weird because we are both french speaking, but still, I was like: dude, I just need the 10 pounds plate, could you please…

Happy birthday @krokador !!! :D Workout B today I felt my heart pumping for real after finishing my squats set, that was cool! There was a guy training for crossfit today next to me today (he always do weird and amazing things, today it was using the cage as a support for gymnastic rings he was using to make different…
