True, but different personalities & activity levels will probably dictate how you respond...even my dieting work friends don't get a kudos from me when they get back from walking their 20 minute break (exception - co-worker in physical therapy after injury, but they weren't dieting...just trying to walk normal again) - I…

I don't comment or congratulate on diary entries... I don't congratulate on cleaning or short walks - I mean, in real life if someone said "I did laundry and cleaned my kitchen this weekend" - would you say congratulations? I would not. I also do not congratulate on short walks - just like if my friend ran to the store - I…

Eh I do it too - after a shower I don't want to stand on the dirty floor. I wear flip flops in the shower and come out and stand on the towel. It also dries my feet bottoms after walking around in wet flip flops.

I Agree with everything you wrote before sorry... If you were truly a fan and a good sport you would not wish injury on anyone. As much as I despise certain players because of acts outside of football (oh like driving a getaway vehicle in a homicide) - I still don't wish injury upon them.

I already have my spot picked out for the victory rally!! :drinker:

They're individually owned so maybe your bad experience (if you ever went to one) isn't reflective of all. If you are not lifting heavy and don't do the lifts that aren't allowed it's a non issue. When I went to gyms that had body builders I still used the same things I use at PF - I still did not do dead lifts so what…

My husband is doing this with his buddies in May. He has had mixed reviews from his friends who have done it some who are repeating and some who said never again! I suspect he will hate it because he hates being cold. I'll have more info after May because I am going with to observe. Good luck :flowerforyou:

^^^^ This! It's so darn hot in there compared to my other gym! It's like a sauna! UGH Our PF does not have classes - this is location specific as they have different owners. Ours has a very large free weight room, lots of cardio, and the circuit training as well as machines set up by body parts - upper and lower and ab…

In don't agree. It's not the governments place to decide what is and is not good for me - and besides, most things are fine in MODERATION. A soda a month isn't going to kill me. A piece of candy once a month isn't either. Butter has a lot of saturated fat yet is used in many recipes and in moderation. People who go…

Awesome - keep it up! I was more in awe and wish I could have seen his calorie burn!

Well I am a gemaphobe - so I would never go on a gym treadmill barefoot - not because my feet are gross, they're super clean, but because other people's shoes, SWEAT, dirt and who knows what else would touch my nice clean feet. Some people don't want to be getting on after WITH shoes on due to dirt and germs from bare…

Splenda: The yummy stuff in my coffee! :drinker:

I have no problem with nudity. Women in my gym locker room walk around naked and I don't care. We get naked to go shower and change. Fact of life. I've seen topless and almost nude sun bathers too - again, doesn't bother me. I have no problem wearing a bikini on a public beach or pool etc. It's minimal coverage to sunbath…

^^^^^Quoting you so I am not labeled as misquoting you. You said calorie-deficit-only method didn't work for you. Calorie deficit is in fact the only way to lose weight - so if you lost weight you in fact had a calorie deficit. There are many ways to create that calorie deficit - so maybe that's what you mean, the ways can…

I don't pay much attention to others at the gym but I was on the elliptical the other day, going a a pretty good clip and a young man to my right caught my peripheral vision. He was going so fast on his I thought he was going to hurt himself - like Wylie coyote crazy fast! I started thinking "That's how people burn so many…

LOL - I am only like this about football. I used to get withdrawal... I have gotten better. If baseball would implement a salary cap, I'd be more interested. Until then - same story - teams with the biggest pockets win and I have no interest in watching. I'll attend a game here & there with friends because it's fun hanging…

Boooo - untrue. As a fan of the sport I always watch. It's all football. I love Sundays - even when it's our bye week :drinker:

Who's being judgemental? I'm just saying - just because it doesn't fit your needs doesn't mean it's a joke. I've also belonged to several gyms in my lifetime due to moving around and price fluctuations and while some excelled in areas where others didn't none were a joke - except the Gold's gym that was supposed to open,…

She told you: You are nothing more than friends. Believe her.

I will not be drunk - I actually want to see the game! But I will be enjoying a few drinks :drinker: Of course the Patriots are going to win!! The commercials and all that - I have no interest in. I like the game. If I could eliminate all that other stuff I would.

What the heck is so easy and available? What's too easy to you? If a man thinks a direct approach - meaning - saying something like " I'm interested in getting to know you better, how about dinner?" is easy or desperate - then they've got some twisted view of things probably from playing too many games. If a woman is…
-
LOL - sounds that way to me too. Just get it over with and ask the guy out if you like him. Like ripping off a band aid... it can be painful to put yourself out there - but in the end you'll have your answer good or bad. If he says yes - great! If he says no - chalk it up to his loss and move on. No more confusion.

Some people smoke so much no matter how many showers they took before attending the gym - they would still smell like cigarettes. The only thing that type of person can do not to smell "foul" to you is quit smoking.
-
Then what's the issue?
-
Yes, I'm not a guy... I am a woman and think playing games is silly. Ignoring someone you are interested in is a sure way to make someone think..... wait for it.... you aren't interested!!

Communicating is communicating. Some are better at clearly expressing a thought through writing than speech. When on the spot, sometimes it's hard to articulate especially if you are disagreeing or one/both are angry. I don't think anyone has said electronic communication is better than face time, but that they appreciate…

This depends on a person gym needs. The machines there are the same as any other gym. Some people don't need heavier free weights or do dead lifts. Although I know they do Pizza - I have yet to see it. I have also yet to hear a lunk alarm go off. I would never discourage anyone from joining a gym. What PF provides is…

I only have 2 thoughts really - 1st of all - if we are not physically attracted to the other person for whatever reason, chances are we are not going to try to get involved with them. Even though people can be good or bad underneath it all - it's the outside package which first draws your attention. An unfortunate truth.…

Of course I googled - it's called fact checking, nothing stalkerish about that! That's just being safe :drinker:

My PF is newer.... lots of cardio equip etc. Never used the tanning but the booths are there. The one I go to is crowded in the evening... very crowded till about 730-8p and it was that way before the new year. It's just a busy gym because it's so inexpensive. I also go to BSC (probably similar to NYSC) - so for comparison…
