I'm from Ohio and it's pop. My husband (who grew up in the same town as me) insists on calling it soda. He is wrong. Also, here our meals are breakfast, lunch, and dinner (or supper - they are interchangable.)

THIS!!! Go Buckeyes!!

Bump! I am thinking of trying this as I haven't been losing much lately.

Bump! This is an awesome thread!!

I've been here since November and am honestly surprised I have stuck with it this long. This is my first real attempt at losing weight ( I'm 40) and I am not known for my willpower. I still eat a lot of the same things, but within my calories and in moderation now. This site really helped me realize how quickly the…

Thanks! It's Salt Fork Lake near Cambridge in Ohio. Very pretty, especially in the fall.

I agree. My friend and my husband both lost a bunch right at first, but then slowed down.( It took me 2-3 months to lose that much!) I'm sure it was just water weight. So don't get discouraged when it slows down. Slow and steady is what I keep telling myself when it seems like it is taking forever to lose.

Shredders were those that were doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred dvd. We had a group doing it "together" at the beginning of the year. And I don't know how often others weigh in. I tend to be a bit ocd with the weighing, so I do every day. But it helps keep me motivated. Also - welcome aboard!!

 Now I'm gonna have to do that tomorrow!

Yep, me too. I just figured it was from the waistbands on my pants - although I don't really wear them that tight. I am also a sloucher, so it could be either one. I still have 30 or so pounds to lose so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it flattens out!

This is probably the nicest thread I have ever seen on here. Everyone is being so kind and supportive - exactly what MFP should always be about. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and have a fantastic week! Thank you all for such uplifting posts. :flowerforyou:

I absolutely LOVE this post!! What a fun idea. My goal is to lose about 40 pounds total, so this gave me even more incentive. I am down 14 lbs so far - I think I need to look for some things that weigh 14 lbs now as a reference. Thank you so much for the extra motivation! And you look fantastic, by the way!…

Bump for ideas :)

I know exactly what you mean!! I haven't had to work since I had my first, but when I did work I thought if I was at home I would do all these fabulous domestic-type things. What I forgot was that I am not especially domestic, and I HATE cleaning! And yardwork. lol. Oh well, I figure my house would probably look even worse…

SAHM in Ohio here. I have 2 kids in school now, so I'm not sure how much longer I will be at home. And resisting snacks all day is definitely a challenge! But I also have more time to plan and prepare healthy food since I'm home. So I guess it's good and bad.

All of these are true - you are not eating nearly enough. Also - you are already at a healthy weight for your height according to BMI charts. Why do you feel you "could stand to lose quite a bit more"? That doesn't seem like it would be healthy.

Me too. Although I like my tea pretty sweet, so I limit myself to a cup a day usually.

The Lorax with my kids. About 4 hours ago. We loved it :)

You can add me too

Special K bars are 90 calories. The chocolatey pretzel ones are the best, but they are all good. (And 90 calories eaten at 6pm is the same as 90 calories eaten at 9pm. A calorie is a calorie.)

Congrats!! You look amazing!!
-
So does my husband, but I have no idea where I can get him one?
-
Me too!! And I will be working a cookie booth this weekend. I have been doing pretty good at only having one here and there.

I am loving these!! Thanks to everyone for posting their pics - what great inspiration! You all look fantastic!

This denial was from Sept 2001. Apparently her death was reported incorrectly then. (The "everything going on in the world" comment referred to the 9/11 attacks.) Unfortunately, the reports were correct this time. Vey sad.

Welcome to the group!! I have the same kind of goals you have. I hit 181.5 (after I quit smoking) and decided I didn't want to weigh that much anymore. I am about a pound or two away from my weight before I quit (169), which was my first goal. Ultimately I am aiming for 140, but I haven't weighed that much since I was 25,…
