  • It's just the fear of the unknown. Before a year ago I dismissed anytime anyone brought up low carb. There is more than one way to skin a cat, I later found out. Low carb is great for lazy folks who want to lose fast without exercising. I think the folks to do low calorie with lots of workouts resent that.
  • you could not be further from the truth.
  • I have been in ketosis for 10 months now, lost almost 100 pounds, and have had a host of non-weight related improvements. For me, it's been a godsend. I do gentle exercise 4-5 days a week, and have had no issues. I have more energy than ever.
  • I've been a bowler for over 35 years, since I was 8. Worked at a pro shop in my twenties. Ate, drank and slept bowling for many years. The last 10 years or so I haven't been as active, and with weight gain, got to the point where after 3 games my back ached something furious. I had ballooned up to 315 lbs, and not being…
  • Perfectly okay to celebrate, as long as the festivities don't include downing a pizza. I've been really good about staying close to my chosen path for the last 10 months, and I reward myself for doing so, just not with food. 36lbs is great, shows commitment. Keep it up!
  • My boss took these for a couple of months. He lost about 20-25lbs, but it was not sustainable. He felt terrible. He stopped taking it, and promptly gained the weight back, plus some. Without having tried them myself, I'd recommend trying something less pill-y and concentrate on making smart food choices & exercise if you…
  • Sure, there is a subforum for keto here. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/1511-reddit-keto
  • No, but I love amway, meleluca, mary kay, & herbalife products. /sarcasm Don't do it, you'll be sorry on multiple levels (get it?)
  • If you find yourself lacking fat, you can have a salad with dressing. Any carbs in the lettuce won't derail you.

  • I have not cut out caffeine at all. As I only drink water, diet soda, or powerade zero, I use diet drinks to satisfy my need for sweets. If it has slowed my weight loss, I am okay with it. If I ever hit an extended plateau (more than 3 weeks), I'll omit it from my diet.
  • Been on LCHF for 4 months now, 62 lbs down. Easiest diet to follow, for me at least. Very minimal cravings, high energy levels, and of course, super rapid weight loss.

  • What do you mean function? Eating zero carbs would be very hard to do, and not recommended Most LCHF diets don't aim for zero, more like 20-100g/day. I eat about 25g a day and function better than ever.

  • I have found the low-carb diet to be a godsend. 60 lbs down in exactly 4 months, and that's including a bad February where I had 2 massive cheat days. In the past when I've done low cal/low fat diets, I've been able to lose, but felt miserable. Low carb for me has meant rapid weight loss, and an amazing sense of victory,…
