Hey gang, Here is an interesting video discussing the different types of sugars and it's effects. It's a little long, but I found it to be extremely informative. http://tinyurl.com/yhjxetw Cheers, y.

Hi EmilyRanae22, Thanks so much for joining the group. I really hope that this group will grow into a wealth of knowledge about organic food\lifestyle and better help members like you in the future. I believe we can all benefit by sharing each other's knowledge and I commend havalinaaa for sharing her homemade cleaning…

Almost any tea by Allegro Fine Tea is my cup of tea!

The only time I would mention something is if any of them said, "I am under everyday but I am still not loosing weight, or, I don't feel healthy". Otherwise I don't interfere with their choices.

Awesome! Keep it up!!

havalinaaa, I applaud you in your efforts. My girlfriend and I also make efforts to purchase Fair Trade (ensuring the main ingredient is fair trade) and Fair Labor products. I recently been using goodguide.com as a reference to help figure out what companies treat their employee's with the respect they deserve. They make a…

HI Jadzia_Dax, I do the same thing, take only the portion I should eat and put away everything else. I even do this in certain restaurants when I know the portions are large - I either ask them for a takeaway box, or ask if they can box up half of the entree before serving it. It depends on the restaurant, but I never had…

Hello everyone, This post seems like such a loaded thread with people arguing from one extreme to the other. I don't mean to add to it, or start any additional fires. I just want to add some insight and information vs. just hearsay. If we take a second and go back to the original poster's question, "Why are diet soft…

For fun: I just finished up The Help, fantastic book. <- I don't care if it's suppose to be a "chick book". For environment: I've been reading books about how to properly implement green computing as I am looking to get certified for the topic in the coming weeks.

For most people, their lightest meal of the day is breakfast and their heaviest is dinner. If you eat your heaviest meal at the beginning of the day, you have all day to burn off what you consumed. Since most people don't do much activity wise after dinner, the lighter meal is easier to burn off before you go to bed. Just…

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jujubie. It's the first time I heard that going organic has made someone lazy! =0) If you live in the US, have you ever checked out: http://eatwild.com/ ? Regardless, welcome to the group and thanks so much for contributing!

Hi Sunshine_88, I would really put some consideration in staying with being organic. The hardest part of going organic is making the change - which you did. However, if you really want to move away from it all I can say is, you will definitely have an upset stomach. I've heard other cases were people have diarrhea or…

I absolutely love almond milk, but I don't love all the different brands of it. I've learned that almond milk can taste different from brand to brand. There are also different types of flavors of almond milk so it the original, non-sweetened version is too much for you, try a different flavor. My current buy is 365 Organic…

Hello everyone, I used some generic graphics I found online for our logos, however the request still stands. If anyone ever joins who has some digital artistic skills and wishes to design a logo for our group, please message me. Thanks, y.

Great idea for a group! Ever since I went organic I've gotten closer and closer to a raw diet. After the holidays I plan on giving it a serious go as I really see having a whole foods, plant based diet the way I want to be. In any case, great to meet everyone! y.

Since I don't want to hi-jack this thread, mind if I send you a pm?

Unfortunately that's only partially true. The FDA reports that "despite numerous studies there is no medical evidence that they are bad" however, third-party scientist have different results. This is why it's such a controversial ingredient, that and the way aspartame was introduced into our food system. With that said,…

If you are eating 90% certified organic foods then you are at least eating 90% GMO-Free foods! It's amazing to hear all the health changes that has happen with you since you went to an almost all veggie based diet. Since I been with Rabbit, she has really influenced me to drop animal products from my life as well. I must…

Another fun fact about Fiber One: some of their products contain cellulose. Which for those who don't know what cellulose is, it's wood pulp. While wood pulp is deemed safe for human consumption by the FDA, it just freaks me out eating wood with my food. IDK, I'm silly I guess. y.
