  • Too cute! Don't worry... the bike is BORING and you have to really have a lot of resistance and/or speed in order to burn a good amount of calories. Stick with the elliptical :-) I'm sure you were trying to mix things up... If they have a stair climber, try that.... URGH! Hate that machine but you totally feel it in your…
  • I like to make tuna using those Starkist creations (herb & garlic; sweet & spicy). I just make a batch the night before (I use fat free mayo; a hard boiled egg, some onion & green peppers -- or some relish). One batch for me usually last 2-3 days, depending on how you eat it (like in a sadwhich). I usually don't have bread…
  • Hi! Checking in.... lost 1.8 lbs since my initial weigh in.... I'm down to 160.8.... ALMOST, almost, so cose to being in the 150s!!!
  • For Becka77- I like my smoothies pretty icy so even though I use frozen fruits, I still use some ice. It's just a preference :-) Experiment away -- it's fun and delicious to make these discoveries!
  • You look fantastic! Red is such a hot color too! Thanks for sharing and keeping the rest of us motivated :-)
  • YUM !!! I love shrimp! Looks delish, thanks for posting a pic!
  • Thank you all for your wonderful and understanding words! I really appreciate it. I want to address a few things: Skinny Cow brand - yes, I've tried it, yes I llike it. I just don't buy it often enough. I think I might need to try the single serving size.... perfect portion control :-) I like the Skinny Cow ice cream…
  • That is awesome!!! Great job and what a deal :-) YAY you!
  • Awesome!!! Good for you girl :-)
  • My new favorite thing right now is the Morningstar Farms CHIPOTLE spicy black bean burger... O....M....G!!!!! So yummy! I had lap band surgery in '08, so some meats are kind of hit or miss; the same thing with bread. So, I heat mine up and sprinkle a bit of feta on top for an extra kick without adding the calories of…
  • That's great! The little things make a difference and we totally lose sight of that when we focus on the scale. Sometimes you can't JUST rely on the scale but you have to see how your clothes fit. At my heaviest, I wore 24s (and sometimes 26s) and now can wear 10/12s... depending on the cut. I have plateaued on and off for…
  • @ Connie - yeah, it might be time for new batteries :-) But I started jogging outdoors (when the weather isn't in the high 90s or in the triple digits) so I was thinking either getting the Garmin FR60 with a footpod or maybe a Nike +... @ Jill -- The foot pod is the reason I'm thinking of an upgrade! I also like the looks…

  • Thanks! It's easy ot get discouraged but all it takes is a few nice words and it's back to "I can do it!"
  • Hi there, I feel you! I stress/emotional eat as well. I also HATE my job, but in this economy/job market, what do you do? I have a job, with great benefits. I read up on the topic and a lot of the feedback is the same. Get up, move around, remove yourself from the situation for a bit. Do something to distract yourself…

  • Crystal light ( or the generic versions like Market Pantry --- LOVE Target!-- and Great Value), Ocean Spray also has some yummy drink packets... I like the peach white cranberry. Also, I'm not a huge coffee drinker (except for once a week I treat myself to a tall, non fat latte from Starbucks) but the grocery stores now…
  • Ok, here is a list of the most played songs from my iPod. These are a mixture of fun, dance type music, hard and loud get you going music, and just random stuff that I have to listen to when I need to keep going or step it up a bit: Good Girls go bad - Cobra Starship California Gurls - Katy Perry Anything by Shakira…
  • Hey girl. Been there, done that! I have been overweight my entire life and had tried doing many things before. I am almost 35 as well. I'm still on my journey as well. Now is a great time to get it going and get it going for GOOD! You can do this and with this site and the supportive community, you can succeed. There are…
  • I've been told that a few times as well -- that a therapist might help. It's hard. It's not like I lost sight of how far I've come and where I started, but still. I've even tried writing in a "I'm grateful for...." type journal but that didn't last but a minute. I try to focus on other things but then I catch of glimpse of…
  • Holy crap! Wow! Thanks for sharing... now we all know :-)
  • I love when those "Eat this, not that" articles come out! It's always such an eye opener (or should I say, rude awakening?!) Thanks for sharing!
  • My plan is to stick the MFP calorie goals set for me (1200/1230) and aim to work out 4-5 times a week. I actually enjoy working out because I love having "ME" time. Going to the gym is "ME" time. I just plug in my iPod and listen to my great playlists :-) I have to mix things up. I take some toning/sculpting classes twice…
  • I'm in as well!!!! I too have lost 100 lbs and then plateaued and yo-yoed back and forth. Since Feb of this year, I have lost 18.6 lbs and have refocused and rededicated myself to making working out a priority and to keep eating healthy foods. I haven't yet decided my "final goal" weight. I'm thinking 30-35 lbs? I'm barely…
  • Yeah... there are plenty of veggies to throw in there and keep it low carb. mix it up a bit, it's very versitile! Another little gem I found, I'll take 2 small melba toasts (the round ones) or one rectangle melba toast and smoosh it up and sprinkle it over my salad -- less carbs and calories than croutons :-)
  • one more idea, have you tried some of those flavored starkist tuna pouches? I love the garlic and herb one and the sweet & spicy (I think?) is really good too. they have lemon pepper and tomato basil. I mix in chopped green peppers, a hard boiled egg, some onions and sometime relish, and of couse mayo. I use some garlic…
  • Hello! This is tough to answer since I really don't know what you are eating on a regular basis. I have a favorite "go to" salad that a friend of mine got from a personal trainer years ago. use romaine, red leaf, or green leaf lettuce (I personally like to mix the red and green leaf lettuce)-- half a head to a full head,…
  • I honestly would like a tummy tuck (and my thighs and tricips done). I have lost 100 lbs over the last 2 years and though I work out fairly consistently, I have trouble areas that may shrink but not go away. But, I haven't had kids yet, so it would be pointless to go through that and then have kids. So I'll have to wait a…
  • Hi Jason! Good luck to you. I had the lap band in January of 2008 and had a lot of success that first year. I became very motivated to lose 100 lbs by my year anniversary and I did it! I started out at 265 and I have mananged (for the most part) to keep off the 100 lbs. The last year or so has been a lot of plateauing and…
