  • I totally agree. You do get used to it after like the 2nd or 3rd class. I love spin class, it's such a great burn. Congrats on the gym membership and have fun with the classes!
  • That's a great idea! I may do that. Just take it 5 lbs at a time and see how I feel/look. Thanks ;-)
  • I'll be watching it central time (after the gym ;-) . BUT, we DO watch it on the DVR. We let it build up 15-20 minutes so we can skip the commercials and the parts we don't care to see (usually anything with Elizabeth in it and all the recaps that we've seen 500 times already). ADA ADA ADA!!!!! Elizabeth had better NOT get…
  • Sounds delish! And Nutella is a little slice of heaven :-)
  • My minimum is 45-60 minutes. But on days I take classes (body works ---which is a toning scultping class; yoga or spin) it can be 90-120 minutes. I used to do 5-6 days a week but lately it's been more like 3-4 so I feel better about those days I can do longer workouts.
  • Thanks for this thread ;-) I'm most successful when: I do 4-5 days a week of INTENTIONAL workouts. I make my goal of 8 or MORE glasses of water a day. I plan ahead (I enter in all my calories for the day except for dinner...on a workout day that will depend on how many calories I earned by exercising). I negotiate...for…
  • Sending a friend request.... I'm a lap bander and I've made a TON of wonderfully supportive friends on this site. Good luck to you!
  • Dogs are awesome ;-) We have 2. I have a 13 lb Lhasa Apso/Maltese mix (Delilah) and my boyfriend has a 50 lb pit bull -- Princess.. And surprisingly, my little white ball of fur is the bully! Anyway, my little one is actually the BETTER walking companion. His dog, I swear suffers from ADD and is just too hyper and…
  • THANK GOD everyone feels this way! I too have been annoyed with Elizabeth the ENTIRE time she was on the show. Each week, I kept hoping they would vote her off but no, she was kept on for the exact reasons Lisa called out the big boys on: to be a "place holder" for Frado, Brendan and Patrick. URGH! Those game playing men…
  • The before pics can be really motivating. It is hard at first to adapt to a new. healthier more active lifestyle. So just start by making small changes here and there. Do not do a massive overhaul all at once. You have a very supportive group of like minded individuals on this site, so you have the tools you need to make…
  • I have a couple of ideas (and it helps that I have a job where I get quarterly bonuses ;-).... I either want to treat myself to a real Coach purse from the actual Coach store and not the sales at the outlet (yes, I still love them but I want to TREAT myself). OR something from Tiffany's ...like a necklace or a bracelet,…
  • My folks are getting me an awesome Garmin HRM that tracks calories burned, miles, pace and has alarms you can set for interval training! I'm super STOKED! I am signing up for a half marathon and need something to help me track my outdoor workouts. This will definitely help me train. I also need new running shoes and some…
  • AGREED! Non "formal" workout days are hard, but I manage. I agree wih the person that said high protein, fiber rich foods keep you more satisfied and higher carbs make me more hungry.
  • Thanks for posting! I struggle with this on a daily basis and you really do have to put in a conscious effort in order to change your mind set.
  • Have you tried making your own? I found some recipes on Allrecipes.com. I use sugar free tomato juice and low sodium chicken or beef broth. One cup of the veggie soup I made was slightly under 500 mg sodium. You can make a big pot of homemade soup and then place them in individual containers so you can just grab and go for…
  • Cute! I woould love to move to San Diego...I would be in heaven living in place where it's like 75 degrees year round. Just not an option right now.
  • I go to the gym as well but I've gone from my normal 5 days a week to 4 days. I di have a tendancy to worout for more than an hour anyway, so it's not that big of a deal for me. I do find that I am more tired now with the change in weather and time change. It's dark when I leave for work and dark when I come home from the…
  • I love Costco ;-) I found this huge bag of frozen fruit for my smoothies. It's a festival blend --mango, pineapple, papaya & strawberries...so delicious with some vanilla whey protein powder and some orange, pineapple, banana juice. They also have the Morning Star Farms Spicy Chipotle Black bean burgers (1/4 lbs! bigger…
  • I went to the doctor a few months ago because I thought I needed to be treated for anxiety and/or depression. I've ALWAYS been a chronic worry wort and prone to emotional stress eating. My work life was getting to be too overwhelming and I would come home and cry or be on the verge of tears almost everyday for about a…
  • Fantastic! You look amazing. You were definitely a pretty girl before but you look absolutely stunning in your new dress. Have fun and good luck with your goals. I have no doubt you will succeed! CONGRATS!!!!
  • YEP! New running shoes, some more good moisture wicking socks, a new HRM with a foot pod so I can track my cadence and distance in addition to calories burned and heart rate (I have a half marathon in March to prepare for ;-), a new digital food scale and maybe a new digital scale as well.... I keep finding other things I…
  • I actually did this for 20 days...I needed a little jump start to getting back on track. I'll be honest, I would NOT do it long term. It's not for me. BUT, I will say this, I do know that what works for some, may not work for others and you have to do what's best for you and YOUR goals. My boyfriends' mom did it for a…
  • Dear work, I appreciate that fact that I have a steady paycheck and benefits. Others are not so lucky. However, please take a page out of Google's book and give everyone a 10% raise and $1000 bonus. We can do without the company holiday party if that helps. PS-- giving everyone a raise will help boost the economy (more…
  • I saw NKOTB last summer....it was so much fun ;-) My boyfriend even had a great time. I was never a huge Back Street Boys fan and I agree that it would have been better with 'Nsync.... BUT... my girlfriends and I are definitely planning on going if it comes to our area.
  • Hello! I had my lap band surgery in January of 2008. It was the best decision of my life and I do not regret it. Sure, there are a lot of things I've had to give up and change but it's been worth it. I was overweight/obese my entire life and tried everything under the sun (gyms, at home dvds, low carb; low fat, herbalife,…
  • WOW!!!!! Congrats on the 120 ;-)
  • YES!!!! I Love the diet V8 Splash! I like the tropical and the mango peach ;-)
  • My absolutes: I absolutely have to work out at least 5 days a week for a MINIMUM of 45-60 minutes. I get away with just 45 minutes at least once a week since I know I will have at least 2 days where I'll workout for an hour and 15 to an hour and 30 minutes. On the weekends, one day may be a 2 hour day.... not that I'm into…
  • Woo hoo! YAY for you ;-)
  • That's quite a victory! Way to go.
