"Oh how we laughed at ridiculing the well meaning MFPers who offered their support, because I'm so sad I have to post tongue-in-cheek posts like this one to get a huge response and make myself feel good. (Wink, wink, nudge, nudge to all of us that are in the know)" Bleurgghhh.

And if you're making the decision to start, ignore family members who say things along the lines of "Wait until New Year's over..." "Is this the best time to start considering what's going on?" blah, blah, blah. Don't let them quit for you before you've even started.

I've got both the first and second one. I thought the first one was good until I got Zumba 2... but wow, Zumba 2 is AMAZING!! It's an aweome and VERY enjoyable workout. I can easily do an hour session and burn around 600 calories (according my my heart rate monitor AND the game). It's hard work, but it's fun fun fun!
-
The best way to accurately calculate your calories burnt is to wear a heartrate monitor. If you dont have one, take your heartrate at intervals throughout your workout if you vary the intensity during a session, or just record it as soon as you've finished if the intensity is maintained throughout and use the below…

EXACTLY! They need to change that! There is no harm in getting over 100% of your good things such as Vitamin C. These should be GREEN, not red! They need to sort that out. I mean, come on, if I go twice over what my minimum is for fibre, how is THAT a bad thing! My bowels think it's great!! But if I don't achieve my target…

I feel fitter and stronger. By my 3rd workout on Level 1, I could already feel my thighs strengthening. I had trouble with a couple of exercises on Level 2 my first two goes, but on my third go, nailed them. It's all strength and strength equals muscle. Not sure what I've lost really, but I feel stronger, fitter and more…

I bet you anything there was something else he said or did that made her decide she wasn't going to see him again. If she'd been REALLY into him, the flowers.... oh my.... the flowers..... "and he was stood there with this huge bunch of red roses.... oh my god, he's so sweet.... and his smile.... oh he's so cute..... the…

I had the Mirena coil put in a few years ago, with the doctor swearing blind the hormones within it were "local" and wouldn't affect anywhere other than my womb, only to develop melasma on my top lip. Well I tell you what, melasma is the best contraception ever cos it looks like you've got a sodding tash on your top…

FANTASTIC!! I'm not sure I should have a "goal" weight as I'm working out like an absolute demon but not losing anything at the moment. BUT, I feel bloody brilliant, so that more than makes up for it. However, as much as I don't want to set a weight goal, firstly because I'll probably fail, and secondly because my main…

Thanks! I shall give that a go and see what happens!

Enjoy!! Did you get the new one "Zumba Fitness 2" or the first one? Every day's a Zumba day for me now. Such an easy, fun way to burn 500 calories or so! Gee.... I can eat a whole bag of Maltesers afterwards, but obviously don't!!!!

I haven't got a clue! One thing I know for sure though, is that now I'm exercising, I'm TERRIFIED of not eating enough and ending up losing muscle. Nearly as terrified as I am of putting on weight. I find it hard to accept that my average 90 minutes a day workout (doing the exercise I'm currently doing; Zumba and brisk dog…

I applied for a job on a helicopter where the maximum weight was 97 kilos. I thought I weighed around 76 at that point. Anyway, I went on the training day, got kitted up and asked to stand on the scales so they could do the fuel calculations. I got on and it was 91 kilos, only 6 away from the max! Now I'm assuming that…

Keep going! 15lb is a huge weight! Just imagine how much FAT that is! Well done! I sympathise with you; I've been on here for about 6 weeks now and have lost.... wait for it.... 4 lbs! Yes, 4! And if my scales were anything to go by this morning, it's actually 2, but being a woman may have something to do with that! BUT…

The rule is "freeze once and once only". HOWEVER, you CAN go on to refreeze it once it's cooked.

In my job I have to wear body armour. An email went round from our "union" the other week saying that women should remove their body armour when in the office in order to allow their boobs to cool down, as keeping the temperature unnecessarily high can cause breast cancer. The email also stated that "...females ARE NOT to…

I found the below formula on a website (can't remember which one) when I was searching to see how many calories you burn in relation to your heart rate. I also found the same formula on several other websites, so am quite happy that it's reliable. Men: Calories/min = (-55.0969 + 0.6309 x HR + 0.1988 x weight + 0.2017 x…

Get yourself a T-shirt made that says "Don't FU**ING talk to me unless I talk to you first!" It would be a very very sad world if we all walked around not talking to those we do not know. How would we get to know people in the first place. We're humans, we're pack animals, it's not that much of an issue. And I thought I…

Here, here!! I would also like to clarify that I do not deem it acceptable tp go around touching random strangers' pregnant bellies. That is a big no-no. BUT, genuinely feeling the need to ask someone if they are pregnant, IS acceptable. I don't do it because I'm not at all interested, so it's not as though I'm trying to…

Hmmmm..... off the top of my head, I think that the rule of thumb is that you can eat everything raw except meat. In the meat department you then have the exceptions that some are for eating raw such as the already mentioned parma/serrano ham (which are actually cured meats), etc, but if you stick to the rule that if it's…

Thank you. You put it so much better than I did. I just don't get why people get so offended about it. More to the point it frustrates me how annoyed they get when somebody tries to innocently share in their celebration of being pregant. In a nutshell, you WOULDN'T be reacting like this if you were pregnant would you??!??!…
-
It's called being polite, taking a interest in someone, being friendly... As long as they're not asking you how many weeks pregnant you are, when they know damn well you're NOT preganant, and just want to upset you by saying in a roundabout way that you're FAT, I don't see the issue. If they ARE being genuine, then what…

You NEED to buy Zumba Fitness 2. Don't buy the first one, but the second one. It is AMAZING!!! I've had it two days and have been taking my heart rate afte each song finishes. In a nutshell, I burn around 400 calories with a 40 minute workout, and that's one where I'm not too out of breath or hurting. When I really pump it…

Whoever finally invents realistic tasting chocolate with virtually no calorific content will end up the richest person in the world!

I have it, I've just about nailed it! In my job I work shifts. These rotate from nights, days off, to lates, days off, to days, days off, then back to nights. It is also a job where you don't get to eat when you're hungry (or are very unlikely to have that privilege), will often go without food for the entire ten hour…

BUMPED!!!! Less calories than a slice of calorie laden bread or even a banana!

I don't subscribe to the whole "low carb" diet - I tried it, it made me ill, very ill. I do however subscribe to Jason Vale's school of thought in that you should focus on whole and non-processed foods. He has some great theories and a magnificent way of brainwashing you as you read his book "Slim for Life: Freedom from…

DO NOT buy cooking wine! All the good chefs say what others have already said on here: "only cook with it if you'd drink it" So... go buy yourself one of those small bottles that you get on airplanes if you don't want to buy a full 75cl bottle. Any dry or medium-dry white should do. In terms of reds, then pretty much any…

The title of this thread made me laugh out loud. In England a "pillock" is a jerk, so "pilloxing" sounded like a sport where you go round giving jerks a ***** slap! Seriously though, that workout sounds pretty good.
