Well said! Your child should always be beautiful to you, and do not doubt it when I say if you think otherwise they pick up on it! Beauty is not a size. Health, fitness, energy, enjoyment...those are what you should be encouraging a child towards, and the rest will follow. Please don't make it about looks, they have enough…

It'd be better to speak to a doctor about it rather than the internet, as mentioned. That said, I don't think it's best to put any child on a diet. Teach her about food, how to cook healthily, nutritious food. About what different foods provide you (energy, flavour, nutrients etc) and how certain foods don't compare (you…

I'm currently bulking, have so far gained 9lbs in 11 weeks. Planning on another 10-12lbs roughly. Loving the strength gains! Feel free to add me if you wish. I don't log my food regularly, I've been here long enough to know roughly what I'm putting in, but I do share my training and happy to talk food.

I had popcorn last night, great snack!

A 400lb bench press would be impressive (assuming his butt is on the bench, and he actually touches his chest) If that was the case, I would probably look. I would be more likely to look / admire a decent squat though. Do you know how rare it is to see a guy performing a squat of reasonable (parallel) depth?? Most either…

Not really a machine, but fave piece of equipment - the squat rack! :D

Yeah it's ok. I wouldn't say I love it, or it's what I ultimately want to do but I don't have any issues and it's far better than my previous job. Left my job in retail last year, *kitten* hours (huge lack of sleep), barely above minimum wage, no opportunities for progression and half the year it was incredibly dull!…

Yep! Unless going vegan helps you maintain a greater deficit because of the type of foods you like/dislike, you won't lose anymore weight. There are plenty of higher calorie vegan foods, it certainly doesn't guarantee anything. IMO the weight loss per week/month as a goal, should be the same as with any dietary lifestyle.…

I'm not vegan (or vegetarian for that matter) but I'm working on meat reduction at the moment for a few reasons and follow a couple of vegan channels on Youtube - they have some delicious looking recipes, and as long as you don't listen to the crazies (ie: the ones that think you're the absolute WORST, unless you go full…

You could assume that yet. The slower you lose, the more of that will be fat instead of muscle. Very fast weight loss is often just a lot of water (especially in the beginning) and muscle, and fat.

A calorie deficit (no matter how small) will nearly always result in some muscle loss. However, the smaller the deficit, the more muscle you generally keep. Large deficits and netting as low an intake as you described is not going to help matters if you want to maintain muscle. The recommended amount (at a bare minimum) is…

Meat eater here who's in the process of trying to cut down / consume less meat & animal products. I doubt I'd cut anything out for good though. I'm changing mostly for ethical reasons. There are other benefits but nothing else that would persuade me to actually make much of a change. I believe you can be healthy whichever…

I've never tried "courgetti" (as it's called here) but Boodles (butternut squash noodles) are lovely! I haven't experimented much with the sauces yet, what I did last time was just stir fry them with some kale and top with cheese - no imagination, I wanted something quick. This idea looks lovely though!

CW: 158 GW: 165 (for the moment, while I'm gaining) 5'8.

He looks at women he finds attractive, as do I with men I find attractive - but I don't think either of us make it obvious! Sometimes those women are skinnier, sometimes they're not. I honestly don't think their weight or size enters his head, it's more just physical attraction. If he finds them attractive, he'll look. The…

I'm a meat-eater. I'm slowly learning more veggie / vegan recipes, and while I highly doubt I'd give up meat for good, I see several benefits to moderate consumption instead of having it all the time and relying on it for a decent meal.

Hertfordshire (Letchworth) here :D There are plenty about, but you might find it easier posting in a UK group (as MFP in general seems to be mostly American) http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/150-team-uk

If you're happy, does it really matter? That's how I feel about it. Yes, we are going to be somewhat influenced by society, but the more you can recognise this, the more true yourself you will find. Will there still be some influence at the back of our minds, that we don't even realise? Probably. I'm happy though. If my…

It really doesn't matter, if I'm on a date I won't care what he's eating. I doubt anyone else is that fussed unless maybe they have really REALLY strict values on say, not eating meat products or something. So I'm just going to go with, nothing that'll make your breath stink. Unless you have super strong mints with you.

Ask her! Honestly, I don't mind chocolate while I'm cutting weight, I'll just have a couple every day and fit it in. However, if she's really struggling and/or finds it hard to not eat a lot at once, or binge, it might not be as such a good idea. Ask her! It won't ruin the surprise, she won't be mad. Just say something…

Once a week. Only weigh daily in the week before a comp, so that I get an idea of fluctuations and can adjust my food the day before / morning of accordingly and thus make weight. Otherwise, given that weight does fluctuate regularly, I see no point in stepping on the scales every day.

I'm Heidi and I compete within the GBPF (IPF affiliate) I first started lifting a while back but have been competing for just over 2 years. Lifts aren't where I'd like them, but they are slowly improving  My best comp lifts are 100kg / 65kg / 132.5kg (not in the same comp) Best total is 292.5kg. I've always lifted…

I have 2 cats (and a dog). The cats are still young, just kittens (6 months now) They're both black, called Midnight and Panther. Our dog is a very exciteable 5 y.o Golden Retriever called Kim. They get on well together  Sorry to hear that :( I had to do the same with one of mine several years ago. It's a horrible…
