I'm amazed at what people will justify and pull from a post to suit their own needs. Yes I said it's not a healthy choice of protein. I never ONCE said DO NOT EAT IT! I said in moderation it can be in anyones diet, and your statement, people being sickened by eating fruits in veggies is like justifying a 40 yr smoker to…

moderation is definitely key...but you're kidding yourself if you think it does any good for your diet. It is composed almost completely of fat, that alone strikes out any protein value it contains.. Bacon fat is roughly 40% saturated fat. There are 27 calories in 1 thin slice of Bacon. 71% fat, 1% carbs, 28% protein.

I hope my comments, didn't offend anyone

I detect a little sarcasm here >:)

This is actually a huge problem. I myself don't understand the mentality of 1200 being the magical # for weight loss.... that being said, the problem lies with an inactive metabolism, when your body isn't getting the fuel it needs to run it simply slows down, which means each calorie it takes in it stores.....the weight…

If you want it eat it, bacon is pure crap, so worrying about the sodium is really pointless...just eat it and enjoy it... :)

Your body can be giving you the wrong signals, you have to condition it to be healthy. No different then you train a puppy, you train your body, getting rid of old habits and replacing with new ones. It's like breaking the habit of eating frequent meals, your body needs to adapt to this, it takes time,

I wish I could help, but I don't honestly understand this...if you're eating the suggested 5-6 meals a day, including a protein source at each meal, you would be getting your calories in....what are you taking in each day? I would really like to help, but you give little insight to your eating behaviour. FYI, i'm a…

Steel cut oatmeal.....the best!

That'll work, add in some bicep curls, some tricep extensions, they should both be ok, and even some bodyweight pull ups. youplace yourself underneath a bar set at hip level, grab the bar, and pull up....thinking that wouldn't be a problem,. You mentioned you can do lateral raises, so you're hitting your…

meal 1 ...........1 cup steel cut Oatmeal, 1 scoop protein shake, flax seed oil meal 2.......... 7 scrambled egg whites with asparagus and cinnamon meal 3.......... 4oz chicken, 2 cups green salad incl spinach, 1/2 oz almonds meal 4.......... 5 oz tuna fish with 1/3 cup black beans and 2 cups mixed veg meal 5......... .4…

Can you do push ups and pull ups? it's all you need to do to keep your upper body conditioned until you heal.

veg/fruit carbs are not incidental, you can end up consuming more carbs in a serving of fruit then you do in a slice of bread. that being said, I do choose low carb for dinner, usually turkey breast or fish. scrambled egg whites and half a cup of asparagus.

It's definitely wrong. Get yourself an HRM it's really the only accurate way to get your true readings

I don't understand crossfit, we have it in our gym, i've seen too many people get hurt. The concept of heavy weight on one's shoulders and squatting for time, like it's a race, it's totally ridiculous, a sure fire way to get hurt, let alone their form sucks, but it's all about time...no thanks. Proper form always.

Zuzanna from Body Rock does some cool stuff....but no way near as much fun as Zumba..lol. I'm with you on the DVD's NO THANK YOU!! I feed off the atmosphere of the gym or a girlfriend joining me on a run or doing some bootcamp workouts inthe park. Everyone has their own level of comfort. I will work out much harder in the…

What is it you want to know? I'm not sure I follow. I don't do P90X nor would I, I lift heavy, do my cardio and eat clean, simple but it works. I don't need all the plyo that's done, I do think that if this system will make you workout or you will enjoy this type of workout, then definitely give it a go, but I do believe…

My opinion on ab exercises, hanging leg raises...no ther ab exercise necessary. Planks are great for beginners, I can hold one forever though even with weight on my back and doing walkouts, still very easy..but the hanging raises, get me everytime.

Your bottom is a law? a MFP rule? it's pure silliness.

If you went to school as an EMT and they taught you this, you should ask for a refund. This is wrong. Caffeine does not dehydrate.
-
I'd more likely question why they would. It's not necessary. You excersice your abs no more or no less then you would any other body part. Remember as well, when you lift weight, your core is put into action and is working to stabilize.

I'm a dietician. All liquids count. Hydration comes in liquid form as well as food sources (such as melon, soups...) They are all accountable as liquid. Unless my 4 year degree was a waste of my time, coffee is not a proven diuretic, it also counts toward fluid intake. It does not dehydrate you, certain people may be…

stick to red bull for energy or rage....I wouldn't take hydroxycut if they gave it to me for free

Totally agree with you. Here's a little write up about the benefits of casein, how much it helps the average fitness buff I do not know. But I definitely have it before bedtime, so do many of the heavyweights in the gym. Casein protein is the predominant protein found in milk. It makes up about 80% of the protein in cow’s…

The source is Shin Ohtake, google him, maxworkouts.com I think the author is irelevant, it could have been written by a kin student for all I care. No one is claiming medical science here, it's someones point of view, someone who I respect and admire, and have worked with. That being said, I don't always agree with his…
