I use Smucker's, personally. Caramel syrup is definitely thinner, but I'm thinking it will work okay. Let me know. :)

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it. And...great modifications! :)
-
You're. A. Genius. :) Sounds delicious.

I'm glad everyone is digging the recipe! Ya'll are amazing. Every. One. Of. You. :)

Make your usual light pancakes, no bigger than about 3-4" across. Lightly brush with sugar free maple syrup on one side only. Cook maple turkey sausage patties, and remove to warming plate. Scramble egg whites, and then assemble sandwiches with a slice of light cheese (Sargento's thin slices work well), and allow to melt…

Bump!! :) Thanks.

Genius. Can't wait to try. :)
-
So you're in love?! LOL. :) You're most welcome.

Attacked? Okay, yeah, maybe. Lesson learned? Definitely. :) Every single recipe I've posted since then has had a source. :)

So, I did some looking around, and came across this recipe from stoplookingetcookin.com. It seems to be lighter than your current recipe (as there's no sugar or butter). I think I was mostly impressed by the fact that it actually looks like fudge - not brown chalk or pieces of sponge - but good, glorious fudge. The recipe…

You are amazing. :) And hope you love those crab cakes as much as I do! I'm actually making them again this evening myself.
-
Amen. Couldn't have been said better. :)
-
Great modifications. :) I, myself, thought they were worth the calories too.

You are right - this is actually a low carb recipe. To make it low calorie, I recommend sauteeing in chicken broth instead of butter/oil, and using Sargento's thin slices (which eliminates half of the "cheese" calories). With those two minor alterations, this recipe is a good bit more calorie friendly. :)

It's a classic combination of herbs such as thyme, oregano and basil. You can buy it pre-mixed, or even make your own. There are several recipes online to help you get the mixture just right. :)

Someone within this post suggested using chicken steak-ums. Sounds like a winner to me!

Omaha Steaks...or even McCormick's if you're in a pinch. There's also lots of recipes online if you feel like making your own.
-
Yes, it is. And it's amazing. :)

I'm sorry for the confusion. The roast beef is pre-cooked. You can use your favorite deli meat, if you'd like. I know that Boar's Head is fantastic. :)

Thanks! I'm trying my best to post 5 tasty low-cal recipes each week. Cooking light keeps me motivated to lose weight. This particular recipe came from www.peaceloveandlowcarb.com. They have a great selection of recipes!

You are welcome! :)

These peppers will compete you. :) So glad that so many new people found the recipe!

Great idea! :)

The sour cream and yogurt sort of mask the aftertaste of the fat free mayo. But the Kraft olive oil variety is a thought - I've never tried it. Is it lighter than regular mayo?
-
Full fat mayo isn't necessarily the devil, but it is the devil in this particular recipe. Using full-fat mayo (Hellman's) in this would have added an additional 600 calories to the recipe. Also - I made this myself - and it was delicious with the single tablespoon of sugar, which was about 6 calories per serving. :)

There's so many! Celery with peanut butter (or maybe chicken/tuna salad), hard-boiled or deviled eggs, dill pickles, cheese wedges, fruit/cottage cheese, nuts/seeds (keep raw ones in the freezer if you think you'll overeat them), low-carb trail mix, beef/turkey jerky (low-sugar), sugar-free jello, sugar-free yogurt (maybe…

Another thought - a nice local coffee shop here serves phenomenal gourmet sandwiches and wraps. They serve a Garden Wrap, which is a spinach wrap smothered in roasted red pepper hummus, with spring greens, tomato, onions, quartered cucumbers, mushrooms and shredded carrots. It's delicious. :)

There must be tons of variations of this recipe. For mine, I use a large bottle of barbecue sauce and a small jar of apricot preserves. It's delish and incredibly easy.

Turkey Club Wraps (from Oxmoor House) Ingredients: 1/2 ripe avocado, seeded 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice Dash of ground red pepper 1 small garlic clove, minced 2 (2-ounce) low-carb, low-fat sandwich wraps (such as California Lavash) 4 ounces organic lower-sodium deli turkey 4 (1/4-inch) slices tomato 1/2 cup thinly…

I usually just cook about a cup of long-grain rice, and stir in 1 tsp lime zest, 2 tbsp fresh lime juice & 1/2 cup chopped cilantro just before serving. Hope this helps! :)
