  • I am doing a Primal version. I found that fermented dairy, home made quark/kefir induce weight gain, so I stick with butter & double cream for cooking certain dishes (but prefer coconut oil to butter) and I have about an oz of raw organic hard cheese almost daily as a substitute for all things sweet.
  • We normally do not eat out, but when we have to, I go for a place where you can either make your own salad, or one that has rotisserie chicken (like Swiss Chalet) or a Steak House. You just have to repeat a few times the magic words: Please, substitute or No dressing/bread/fries, please. And ensure before ordering that it…
  • I feel your pain. Constantly. Continuously. Endlessly. I have read that even the recovered alcoholics never stop missing alcohol. I am working on building an emotional acceptance of the fact that I will always miss fruit and sugar AND will avoid it 99% of the time. Emotions are emotions. I will feel them. Food is food. I…

  • I am still building up to 70% fat, but usually am above 60%, under 10% carb, and the rest - protein. There is some crazy formula that says that your net carbs should be half your "I look like a super-model" weight in kilos, your proteins g - 1 to 2 of your "I look like a super-model" weight in kilos, depending on how you…

  • Daily, with an official weigh in being on Saturday before the gym.
  • You want a gym you will feel comfortable coming in daily and that has everything you need. I am incredibly lucky, since I pay $55 a months for our local recreation center that has it all, from pool with steam room to 2 levels of gym that is set up with 2 squatting racks (yes!), TRX, Kettle-bells, every imaginable machine…
  • I find that creamed coconut (also known as manna) or cocnut cream with salt does the trick. Overall it took me a while, but I am aiming to re-educated myself to completely avoid sweet flavors. So, cheese, nuts and coconut products go with my tea. Oh, and chopped fresh cabbage with a drizzle of balsamic and salt. Mmgh, good.
