What's your afternoon snack? Sandwich is not a great satiety food since it has a lot of bread. If your snack something like eggs and butter, or a can of salmon or sardines, eat it to compensate for sugar/grain hunger. If that's nuts, trail mix, a piece of fruit, I suggest you get sardines, eggs etc i.e a combo of fat and…

You won! That's a wet dream, indicates fat loss with no muscle loss. Throw a party.

What are you doing now? Describe your level of unfitness in terms of: how long can you walk without puffing? How much weight can you lift (grocery bag of XYZ pounds) and how long can you carry this grocery bag. Alternatively, try finding a simple fitness test. Finally, try reading a Primal Blueprint Fitness 101 book, it is…

Relax. Eat Wholesome Foods. Overeat every week or so. Move copiously and with joy.

Which measurements you are taking? Does it include neck and bicep/calf/other place that can show muscular increase? You likely hit the jack-pot of pumping your muscle some if you are training. If your waist did not go up, you are not really bloated so likely no issues with salt. If you are working out, water could be…

Do you supplement Magnesium Citrate, & bone broth with sea salt? Electrolite imbalance + deficit in Mg and K could lead to the above symptoms at VLC (<50 g carbs a day sustained for over a week).

I would not jump out of bed and onto the bike and ride like hell. You will injure something. I would suggest getting up about 30 min before the bike ride, patter around the house while drinking a cup of coffee, make a few stretches and then start the ride. If you find that you flag during the ride, add half a tablespoon of…

If you ate within 24 hrs prior to taking a look at your belly, you would have a bulging stomach, no matter how thin you are. The models with flat bellies in the pics fast for a day or two before the shots. If you had at least one child, the bulge after eating will likely be more pronounced. Reducing bloating substances in…

I look in the mirror and measure my inches. The day I look in the mirror and see an athletic Ageless Goddess looking back at me, with a flat stomach, defined shoulders and no bulge on her outer thigh... well then i will record my weight and BF% and try to stick with it.

Have it. Enjoy every last bite of it. Make sure you are having a food-gasm while eating it. If not, it's not worth it :)

I do what feels good and results in advancing my fitness and aesthetic goals. All and all, I love the grass-fed and organic and local approach. However, sometimes I need to eat art sweetened crap; sometimes I want a candy. I tried ketonic lifestyle, but it sent my fitness down the drain, so I will use white rice and white…

You can start eating paleo, but do not do the low carb version of it, go for tubers and fruit. Low carbs + thyroid problem = Bad Thing. You might want to check the net for info on that. Salt and broth will helps HUGE deal as well.

I don't eat fruit normally. Now I am doing something different and will try to allow fruit once a week. Sugar is sugar, natural or not. If you are sensitive to it, you have to drop the fruit. Plus, I am actually specifically sensitive to fructose, and sugar and everything that has too much fructose triggers appetite for me…

A picture. THE picture. I was putting together the pictures for the X-mas DVDs to send around the world to all our scattered relations, and I realized that I was cropping myself out to keep my beautiful 2 yo in focus and the whale in the background out. I was the whale... I felt deeply ashamed. I put so many years and…

I am hungry when I wake up, but not starving crazy mad ravenous as I was on the high carb/low fat. In fact it used to wake me up at 2 am and keep me awake till 3 am. Since I get up at about 4 am, that was one of the reasons I started looking into 'there gotta be a better way'. Some days I can forget about the hunger & it…

I would put 700 calories in one good meal of fatty meat or fish (salmon would be my choice or a porkchop with fat and bone), with some buttered veggies on the side (cabbage or broccoli). Or fry up eggs in butter. You can have good 6 eggs in a tbsp of butter on that budget. Cut out bread, skim milk and cereal in general -…

Pooping once a week could be indicative of two things: calories are way too low + proteins too high in relationship to the fats. If when you erm, go, your output resembles that of a deer and is hard to part with, increase the healthy fats in your diet, like have an avocado a day and get fattier cuts of meat.

I agree, I prefer that approach as well. It is described as "WHEN" approach by Mark here (it is a good article on fasting & it has a bunch of links to more articles on fasting, lol, if you still want to learn more): http://www.marksdailyapple.com/why-fast-part-six-choosing-a-method/#axzz29klof400

The whole idea of the IF is calorie control - you are expected to go low on calories, much lower than your normal intake on your fasting days (under 1,000 calories is expected). In a 24-36 hour fast (dinner to dinner or dinner to breakfast) you are not expected to have any caloric imput for 24 hrs min, and you are not to…

I did Whole 30, twice now. I did 100% primal. I normally gain weight on it. Healthy is great, but I still do not like the shape my body takes 'naturally'. I know that it is because I need to be able to conceive, carry and deliver three babies in the middle of the Antarctic desert, during the dark winter of the Ice Age, but…

It's Ultimate Diet 2.0, a crb- and calories cycling diet that is tied into a workout regimen that is designed to lose stubborn fat once you get into the low average BF% and can't drop fat further, like 20-22% for women. It is developed by Lyle McDonald. It is the only thing that allows me to move past the set point I get…

Good tip. I am trying to eat more avocado now, building up to at least 1 per week. They are hard to get into the meal plans, but the nutrition is pretty good.

Skip BMI and scale. Proceed to the mirror and/or candid camera snapshots. Use measuring tape in the places that matters to you personally if you want numbers.

My favorite bone broth is actually from fish heads. Also, I buy whole turkeys and the breast goes into dehydrator for jerky, drumsticks and thighs are roasted for supper, and the rest of the turkey, including skin is roasted up and then maketh a great bone broth. I love this time of the year when the turkeys are super…

Neither. When I am doing normal feeding with either slight caloric deficit or at maintenance & not too restricted on macros, I am fine with no sweeteners of any kind including fruit and all real food. But I am doing a couple of months of UD2.0 now to cut into the stubborn fat, and I need to go for 4 days each week on…

Alas, I've sold out and went to the art sweeteners world for now. Cleaning up will be hell, of course, but Lyle has my soul right now, so sticking to the deficits I need for 2 months, I gotta give an inch. Oh, well. See if I can get to the target & then do a saintly clean up for a month or two and stick to no sweeteners…

Heh, at some point i calculated that I don't get to eat at all on the recovery days if I wanted to keep 2 lbs a week loss deficit. I still feel guilty when I eat on recovery days. But i am getting over it. That's said don't go on that bike to 'earn' dinner. Find an activity you enjoy and try doing it. Dancing, walking,…

I am all pumped up to try my Halloween 'baking' idea, so it would be mushroom caps stuffed with ground turkey in some Asian style sauce, and topped with either olive/pimento or fresh mozza ball with a touch of pepper-garlic sauce to make a scary 'eyeball' My all-time favorite is home-made marinara with shrimps or…

Whenever I feel down, I dab a touch of vanilla essence (yep, the one you bake with) behind my ears and on a bit of a tissue to stuff into my bra between my breasts (TMI?). It cheers me up almost immediately. What I would love to have is the smell of green apple. I swear I buy the dishwasher liquid to smell it! I also react…

I can't really eat sweet potatoes due to a rather strong reaction to fructose I have. Try using a bit of coconut oil on your lips as balm. It really helps me. Well, unless coconut oil is an irritant for you!
