  • And when I say "plus less" I mean plus less pounds, but plus more happiness and pride in yourself!
  • LOL I used to love Chef Boyardee when I was a kid!!! And your goal on August 31 is on my birthday so I am giving you good vibes to meet it plus less  Good luck, and gotta love the crap that we probably eat, but as long as we cal count it, go us!!!! xoxo Best luck! Maggie
  • Hey! I did the math and i THINK you are about the same ish weight as me and the same age.. We are working against so much, but you need to remember if you are 5 foot 5 inches, you should weigh ( according to common belief) 125-135 so you are close! Maybe my calcs are wrong, but I think you are close and you can definitely…
  • 11 minutes only burns 100 for me according to MFP... Could it be a weight difference thing? I'm about 145, 150... Yay for you burning so many cals and having fun! :flowerforyou:
  • Is this the Cut The Fat Podcast? B/c if it is, I really would take almost everything they say w/ a grain of salt... They don't seem like the most nutritionally educated people, and although they have some nuggets of wisdom, most of it I really would NOT follow. Carbs are our friends, and while it is important to keep carbs…
  • Good luck to all of you "babies"! This is our month to shine!!!! xoxo Maggie
  • Cauliflower popcorn sounds AWESOME! Going to try that ASAP! Thanks! xoxo Maggie
  • I am totally in the same boat as you ladies! For some reason the PMS phase lasted forever and TOM just arrived, so I have been hungry, unmotivated, and emotional for over a week. I think Kimberly428 is right: Maybe giving yourself a break will make it easier to get back on track later and then stay on track longer? That is…
  • The Jillian Michael's Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism is AMAZING! It is TOUGH but it is the best workout ever. It is about 45 minutes, so it is kind of a time commitment, but the variety that she has in it makes it go by fast. Best of luck! xoxo Maggie
  • Yay! Congrats! I am saving all of my old jeans for a day hopefully soon that they are "new" to me again and I can wear them! Congrats!
  • How much was Bio Oil? I have stretch marks due to quick weight gain... Hoping to get rid of them after I hit my target. Thanks for the info! xoxo Maggie
  • Some of the new stuff out there in the pop world is GREAT for running: I Like It- Enrique Englasias (sp?) ft. Pit Bill Dynamite- Taio Cruz And some other fun ones: Suddenly I See- KT Tunstall For Christ's Sake- Paper or Plastic Point of Extinction- Motion City Soundtrack xoxo Maggie
  • Hey! If you think about it from a math perspective, you have lost 1.7 pounds a week! Girl, that is amazing! This is a great rate to be going at and you should be proud! And the scale being crazy is normal: whatever you eat or drink during the day is still in your system at the end of the day, so that registers on the…
  • It is so great to see that others are doing the same thing! I feel like if I can get through this month w/out a drink, then I'll be able to space it out better. Thanks for the support! xoxo Maggie
  • I totally understand the grazing and alcohol thing! My advice about giving up wine or beer is to NOT give it up. I usually fit 2 glasses of wine into my day just so I don't feel deprived... The MAIN thing is to not feel deprived! Best of luck and feel free to add me as a friend! xoxo Maggie
  • I LOVE Big Brother! I'm totally at a loss about who the sabateour (sp?) is! I think it's one of the guys... This is the prettiest group of people so far! Look forward to watching every week!
  • Welcome to MFP! You can definitely do this, it seems like you have a good mindset and great goals in mind, and THOSE THINGS are the most important! Best of luck! xoxo Maggie
  • Thanks so much! I feel like everything I ate today was "whole" if that makes sense. I felt guilty too, but then I'm like WAIT! I haven't even done anything! LOL Thanks for the insight! :flowerforyou:
  • Are you doing interval training? I have heard that it really helps with plateaus. It is a system where you go hard and fast (hard and fast varies for everyone) for a period of time, then go slower for another shorter period of time. You keep alternating between hard and fast and slow and steady until you've done a good…
  • Hey! This site is THE BEST! It has helped me not only lose weight but feel in control. While my immediate family isn't really overweight, there is a history of obesity and diabetes in my extended family, so I'm trying VERY hard to avoid that. Congrats on going to college, trust me, it will be the best time of your life!…
  • OMG that is hilarious! Not the saggy arm bit, but the way you put it... great sense of humor! GET OUT OF THE CORNER and stay away from any charity in need of short-sleeved shirts! You can try to make it better by doing tricep "extensions" or "curls"... I'm always working my triceps and as a former personal trainer who…
  • It is always so good to look at the little things! They can add up to something big! My mini goals are... 1. To fit into my sexy heels again (who knew feet could get chubby?????) 2. To actually want to go out w/ friends again and not feel like a *larger* shadow of my former self. 3. To lose the firs 20 lbs and actually see…
  • Hello! I definitely understand being the "the other side of the mirror"! I have always been skinny (sometimes underweight) and last year something just changed (not babies, mind you, but I guess a mental breakdown) where I stopped regimenting my exercise and food and gained about 50 lbs. I finally got motivated to get it…

  • MAYBE 20 pounds in 2 months (a little over 2 pounds a week) but NOT 40! I think you should keep looking toward the long term, because in the end it is the long term that counts, not how fast you dropped the weight. Good luck on the twirling team, I'm sure you'll look fabulous, dahling :flowerforyou:
  • Oh college and moving in w/ the parents... Too much food, too much alcohol, TOO MUCH! I am in the same boat, only I kept a pretty ok weight through my first 2.5 years and then quickly went downhill and up in weight. Best of luck on your journey, this place is great and has helped me so much! Feel free to friend me…
  • I think the best part is to "get in the habit of loving myself". YOU are worth more than just being "skinny" or a size "smaller than now"! You are worthy of HEALTH and HAPPINESS! Go for it girl! You hit the nail on the head when you said you aren't alone: we all have our own issues, but there is always a place like MFP to…
  • I once heard a story about a woman w/ an eating disorder who only felt "safe" eating ice cream and was still losing weight. It isn't healthy for the body (your arteries would be crying if all you ate was ice cream!) but in terms of calories in vs calories out, if you ate 1200 cals of ice cream a day and nothing else, you…
  • It seems like it would be tons of sugar, but I don't know anyone who would say to NOT eat that much fruit! It has nutrients, fiber, etc. Yes, it can be heavy on the sugar but at least it wasn't four reese's peanut butter cups  I think that the more fruits and veggies a day (within caloric reason and w/ good healthy…
  • I hear that intervals are best for weight loss because it keeps your heart rate going up and down... Apparently it burns more fat rather than glycogen, which is stored in muscles. I've been listening to the Cut The Fat Podcast and they explain things pretty well. Some of what they say I don't agree with but there are…
  • Soy crisps! They are only 110 for 20 of them... if you have hummus on hand, you can spread a thin layer on each so A) it will take longer to eat and B) it will have more flavor. If you like spicy, I recommend Twelve Tribes 40 Spices hummus because it is SOOO yummy but also spicy enough that it satiates your hunger. Also…
